indentatloved graduation day! normal people went out for a night on the
indentatclub, or maybe even a few drinks at a friend's house. some normal
indentatpeople spent the night at their boy or girl friend's house, watching
indentatmovies and peppering each other with kisses. but allie, lucy, jane,
indentatand sophia aren't normal girls; carter, james, hudson, and noah are
indentatnot normal boys. the eight friends all met during detention in their
indentatsophomore year in high school. afterwards, they got to talking, and
indentatimmediately a friendship sprung up that lasted through senior year.

indentatyou're probably wondering what in the world they did on graduation
indentatday, aren't you? the eight of them went hiking in the appalachian
indentatmountains, eager for an adventure. too bad their adventure lasted a
indentatbit longer than planned: after a bad avalanche, the group is trapped
indentatin the middle of the appalachian mountains, with no idea where to
indentatgo or what to do. they need help, but who can give it to them?

meet lucy ann williams. she's got the most
common name, hair color, and face- there's
nothing really special about her. she may not
look the part, but luce doesn't talk much. the
blonde much prefers to hang out in the back
of the group, and only piping up every once
in a while. she's always harbored a secret
crush on james, though she never told him-
she was too shy. luce is usually the one solving
the big problems, like fire-starting, which she
and jane had to teach the group about (mostly
jane, though; luce didn't do much talking);
how to catch rabbits, gut them, and cook them;
how to sleep up in a tree without falling down.
luce was the girl that was quiet when she wanted,
but if she opened her mouth, you could be sitting
there for hours. she's always been jealous of jane
for knowing all the same things about survival and
nature that luce did, and even hated her a bit for
getting everybody's attention when she talked.
she hasn't said a mean thing since the eighth
grade, when someone told her she was ugly
and plain, and better off with her mouth shut.
it hurt luce more than she cared to admit, and

this unique little oddball goes by the name of jane elizabeth
kelley, her infamous nickname 'zany janie' having originated
from her many years accompanying young & wily boy scouts.
her father is the leader of the local troop and her two older
brothers are both eagle award recipients, so you can bet
that the boy scouts were a huge fraction of this eighteen
year old girl's youth. because of this, jane isn't the typical
fair-haired, crystal-eyed country sweetheart. her tomboy
