Lily went along the corridor to her locker and shoved her current books into her locker. She then took out all her books for the next period, most of them were just reading books or unnecessary exercise books for extra revision. She piled them high, clutching the as carefully as she could. She started to head towards the gym, it was sometimes peaceful there for revision or reading if the athletes weren't competing or having some stupid competition. She could barely see where she was going but she kept her eyes on the path in front of her, the giant pile of books wobbling in her arms. As she approached the gym her gaze flickered to a poster to her right. She turned to get a look at it. Just her luck that her shoe lace became untied. Being her clumsy self , as soon as her attention slipped she tripped, flailing her arms uselessly she collapsed, her books slid all across the floor and most piled on top of a boy reading in the gym. Blushing in embarrassment she raced over "I am so so so sorry!!!"

Scott smiled as Mal talked about her day. Just being around her made scott feel better, but he still wasn't sure about his feelings for her. All the other girls he had been with left him, and so he normally wouldn't get close. But with Mal, it was hard not to get close to her, which slightly worried him, but he was just happy when he was around her. He rubbed the back of his neck when she asked him about his day. "Well,..." he started, looking down at his shoes before looking back up at her, "I don't know really. It started off good, but then after first period I just went out of it, and I still don't know what's wrong.. But my day's gotten better now that you're here," he said, kissing her nose.

Scott then looked over her shoulder when he heard Romeo whistle at them. "Shut up," he said, rolling his eyes but feeling his cheeks redden. He turned back to Mal and watched her, a smile on his face. Another thing people didn't usually see was him smiling. Pretty much the only time he smiled was when he was with Mal, or with the boys. He then watched the boys play Rugby in the background, but still payed attention to her. This boy was never into Rugby, feeling it was too rough for him. He watched as Romeo walked over, and smirked, saying, "Smooth." He watched him walk off and shook his head, running a hand through his brown hair. When Romeo came back he smiled down at him, "It's going good, mate." When he asked about the party he looked over at Mal, "You want to go?"

Cricket's sea-green eyes widened in alarm as books were suddenly being flung at him. A grunt escaped his lips and he stumbled, falling in between two bleachers. The lanky boy winced, pulling himself back up, looking quite disheveled now as he rubbed the back of his sore head. He glanced down at the books, seeing as he'd now lost his own. Suppressing a sigh, Cricket reached down and retrieved the books nearest him before lowering himself to collect the rest. After setting the books in a neat pile and setting them on a bleacher, he turned to look at his attacker. Or not so much. "Oh." he mumbled, walking over to the small girl. "Hey Lily." he offered a friendly smile and outstretched hand to his fellow bookworm. "Don't you have a backpack or something? It would make life a lot easier." he pointed out mildly, hoisting her up with ease before returning to his own spot where he found his own book. Cricket stooped down, retrieving it before turning it over and over. Only a few creases here and there. As long as it had survived, he was fine. The boy replaced his bookmark in its proper place, dumping the book in his own backpack before turning to idly watch the girl.

Lily sat up, rubbing her head. Uh, everything was always so embarrassing for her! As the boy came over and offered to help she smiled, grabbing his hand she pulled herself up "Sorry for that... I'm really really sorry..." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, she suddenly realized he was talking, talking about a backpack. Lily blushed, "Well I do have one..." she said, pointing at her small blue backpack "But well... Most of my books don't fit..." Lily lowered her gaze feeling awkward wishing for the traditional why won't the ground open up? She collected up her books "Well I suppose I really should find a bigger backpack eh?" She watched as he went to pick up his own book "Are you ok? And did I break or damage your book?" she asked in worry, she suddenly wanted to take it back. She always cared for her reading books but some people laughed at her because of it. That sometimes became a source of bullying, she couldn't count how many books had been ripped up or dunked in a toilet to upset her.

Cricket shook his head, still smiling at the girl as he watched her. "No, no. The book's fine, plus, I've read it so many times it wouldn't have really mattered if it was torn." he shrugged. Of course he loved the book, but as it got older, it became more vulnerable and worn. "And I'm fine. Just hit my head is all. How about you? You hit the ground pretty hard." he pointed out, his voice dripping with quiet concern. Cricket glanced down, staring at the small backpack. "Yeah. Might be a good idea to get something a bit larger, especially if you're really into reading." he gestured to the large stack of books she had so kindly dumped on him before. "Do you need help carrying those or something? Because I could help." he offered, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, his sea-green eyes staring intently. His eyes had gotten a chance to review some of her reading material prior to their conversation and, as usual, he approved heartily.

Lily smiled "I'm still very sorry though..." She smoothed her clothes "Yeah and I'm fine, it wasn't as bad as it looks..." Lily smiled "I really do need to start thinking about a new bag... I think my bag might be older than your book!" Her bag was tatted and the thread had come loose. You could see the multicolored threads that were used to patch it up. It was like a old teddy bear, it had been repaired with whatever bits and bobs that could be found at the time. When Cricket offered to help her she smiled more, not many people payed attention to her. "Yeah thanks, I really would appreciate some help, too many books eh? I probably won't even need half but you know..." She suddenly realized she didn't even know his name. She smiled and stuck out a hand "By the way my name is Lily, Lily Chang. I've seen you around before by I don't know your name." Smiling she asked in what she hoped was a friendly way "So you are..."
