The morning seemed calm and normal as Iris sat and sipped at her coffee. She could only sit and dream about what the Candidus's were doing, which drove her crazy and sometimes even mad. Why her and why now? Why must her beautiful wings be tainted black as the shadows? Taking a deep breathe and another sip of her coffee, a sudden feeling fell over her. Her wings tingled under her skin as if they were itching to burst from her back. Turning in her chair she looked throughout the small cafe in search of the person, or Candidus, or even Lapsos, that was causing this feeling in her. She had felt this feeling before but was never able to put her finger on it and never able to experience it after that. When no one stood out she looked out the window for maybe someone walked by. She searched the streets when her sapphire eyes before they landed on a nicely dressed man. The feeling deep inside her jumped once again when her eyes met his. Was this boy another Lapsos? Or was he a Candidus? Thoughts of the situation began to play out in her mind, both good and bad.
Adjusting in her seat she prepared herself for the worse and Reached for her coffee. With a small smile she motioned the boy inside. Kicking the chair just across from, her eyes once again met the mysterious man's as she pointed to the chair. Her wings continued to tingle as she watched the man. The company would be great but she had to be prepared for the worse. What if he was a Lapsos? Maybe he knew how long they were going to be banished, as she called it, to this world or even if they were ever going to be able to fly in heaven with their tainted wings. Questions filled her head as she waited for the man to sit with her.

The streets were busy this morning as Mike lead Bullet down the street to the small car shop. It was a great job for cars in the city always needed work. The constant stopping and going, the weather and the turning. Cars were abused in the city and people never really knew it. Turning another corner the shop was in sight. Bullet's tail began to wag faster as the two continued casually down the street. City life, as Mike called it, was never the same. When he lived out in the outskirts of town, the same people would drive down their one dirt road to go to work. Hear, no one even knew their neighbor. It had been a huge change for Mike but life had its way of making him do this change. The scares from his past life always reminded him that city life was maybe easier. But he could no longer ride his horse to work or allow Bullet to run freely across the open fields. Finally reaching the shop Mike let Bullet off the leash to say hi to his co-workers. The workshop filled with happy hellos and a happy dog.
"Mornin' Mike, left ya a great car this mornin'. Needs a new transmission," Mike smiled at his manager and walked over to the car. It was a nice 03' Saturn Vue that needed more than a new transmission. But Mike did what the customers wanted. "Ya always give me the crazy ones John,"With a smile his manager walked back inside. At his work bench, he picked up his tool box and got to work. Bullet finally finished with his hellos and laid on an old blanket in the corner.
