- "Watch the baby." said Liesel to her companion, who grunted a 'vapa' in response. Leaving the baby Dratini in the open along with Perseus, she slipped back into the gap into the cave, to retrieve her shoes and jacket. No way was she tramping all the way back to Blackthorn in the snow without her jacket or shoes. There was a cold draught weaving in through Dragons Den, echoing eeriely in her ears as she slipped back to the pool she'd came up from. Diving swiftly and swimming quickly, she gritted her teeth and tried to ignore the bitter cold of the icy water over her bare skin. She re-emerged from the water to find her jacket and shoes at the pool's edge. So much for not getting them wet. Clutching the fabric of her coat and the laces of her shoes, Liesel ducked back under and re-surfaced a few moments later. She scrambled back to the ledge, reached up to the gap into the open air, and pulled up into the snow with the aid of Perseus.
Panting, she shrugged on her soaked jacket and tugged on her dripping shoes. She couldn't hang around: they'd all easily catch a cold at the rate the snow was falling. Pulling the baby Dratini close to her chest in an attempt to keep the little guy warm, Liesel shuffled her way through the snow as quickly as she could. The dragon was shiveringly cold, curling herself up defensively to try and keep the warmth tucked close. She didn't even seem to mind the fact that the human she was cradled by wasn't her mother. Sniffing and shuddering as the snow billowed down in great sheets, Liesel walked as quickly down the slippery rocks as she could manage, Perseus leading the way and trying to direct her onto easier surfaces. When she got to level ground, she heard a greeting over the wind. Whirling on her heel, she spotted Alexander standing at the mouth of the cave. Despite the cold, she grinned broadly at him. "Hey," she called, before nodding and gesturing for him to follow her. Vaporeon was bigger than many his level, which was great, because with the aid of his long tail, he could easily drag people through waters with ease. The water dividing Dragons Den from the city of Blackthorn lay before them, the wind rippling over its surface, causing small waves. It hadn't frozen over yet, but she knew that it would be bitterly cold.
Grimacing at Alex, she kept Dratini close as Perseus slipped into the water. Following him, she dipped down and suppressed the gasp that nearly escaped her lips. Grabbing ahold of his broad fin, she kept her dragon above the water as best she could, looking to Alex with a look that said 'come on already'. She was ridiculously cold - stupid winter weather. The sooner they got to the Pokémon Center, the better.
