He smiled again very faintly, "Well, thanks," He murmured to him, lifting his gaze to Zachary's, holding it for a moment before glancing away once more, mentally kicking himself for being so stupid, so awkward..So..gay.
He cleared his throat and looked up at him again, hair concealing his eyes, "If I'm keeping you at all, then feel free to tell me to go away and leave." He told him with a soft chuckle.

"You don't need to thank me, Beanstalk. You are making me just as happy, right now." She enjoyed the quiet moment before Dakota stirred under her, getting to his feet. Sitting up, her hair fell into her face, a tangled mess still from the previous night. Pushing it out of her face, she tilted her head to the side, "Geez, skipping dinner and just taking me home, are we? What a dog." She winked a dark blue eye and hopped off the table, landing on her feet. Not releasing his hand, she towed him over to where her belongings were scattered. Finally releasing his fingers, not wanting to completely, she stooped and wadded up the blanket, tucking it into her bag. Hooking two fingers into the backs of her black vans, she picked them up, holding loosely in that manner. Bag over shoulder, she took Dakota's hand again and looked up at him, "Alright, let's go."

Dakota gulped and looked towards the ground.Kinda not wanting ehr to go, scared of his dad. But he didn't want her to leave either, he felt her grab his hand and he smiled softly. He walked off and followed a small path back to his house,hearing her smart comment he snickered."You,you..shush!"he said with a small smile and he looked down at his feet. As they walked and when he got home he smiled dragging her in his house. His dads loud voice echoed the house.He put her behind him."stay here.."he whimpered and walked in,his dads hollered at him and hit him across the face and in the ribcage.Dakota fell to his knees,hoping she didn't see him from the siding glass door.He grasped his ribcage and felt his face burn.



Zachary Evans.

He stared at the cute boy,all his piercings were.. adorable.He looked down at his feet and chuckled."Nah,i got no place to go. Nobody wants a gay to hang around.."he whimpered looking away then widened his eyes,he just revealed what he said.Sh*t.He backed away shaking his head narrowing his eyes.Crap.

Alexander just chuckled, "Yeah, I feel that," He said, tossing his hair out of his eyes with a quick flip of his head. After a moment, he pulled off his leather jacket, leaving him in his black v-neck and his badly scarred chest and arms.
He draped the jacket over his shoulder and began stroking the two snakes that hugged each arm.

She giggled, marking a mental victory in her head for making him snicker. "Oh, you know you don't want me to." The muscles in her face hurt from smiling so much, she had really smiled more in that short morning than she had all month and her cheeks were sore from it. Unable to walk in a straight line, she occasionally bumped into Dakota, blushing and muttering a, "Sorry," each time. It wasn't long before they arrived at Dakota's house. She dropped her shoes and bag outside the door before slipping in after him. An angry bellow sounded through the whole house, making her instinctively flinch and scrunch her eyes shut. "Stay here..." She heard the fear in Dakota's voice as he instructed her to stay put. Giving a small nod, she cowered near the wall, hoping that this visit would be quick. As yelling picked up in the other room, she heard someone hit someone and could only assume the worst. "Dakota!" His name came tumbling from her lips before she could think, a high and strained voice that only happened when she was terrified.

Slapping her hand over her mouth, she prayed that his father hadn't heard. She didn't even need to see the man to know he was like her father; large, loud, and mean. While he didn't go after her everyday, his drunken fits inevitably ended up in some sort of injury for her. So she stayed there, pressed against the wall, paralyzed with fear and worried sick about her new found happiness that was in the other room.

shocked by her actions, though not wanting to be rude, he put his own arms around her and tried to calm her down. she was pretty, he gave her that, and he knew she was scared and stressed over something he didn't know about. "it's fine, sweetie.you're fine." he offered a smile as they let go of one another and he stood and sat beside her. "i was headed to the cafe. would you like a coffee?"

Dakota clutched his face and rib cage.His dad heard the voice and went to the door and Dakota shook his head,in terrible pain and ran past his father."no!"he yelled.He grabbed her stuff quickly then grabbed up Erin in his arms."No!"he would not let his father take her away from him.He took off running away from the house until they made it to the park.He placed her down softly ona bench and fell to his knees in pain."i'm so sorry you had to see that,"scared he would loose her,and she would fear to come near him.Hoping she'd stay with him,not leave him there.He looked up at her and then down at the ground with a frown.So afraid,so startled. But he was use to the abuse,it didn't bother him anymore.He let out a small sigh.He looked around the park,seeing a girl and boy not to far and then at Erin again.He frowned softly."Don't leave me because of this,"he had it happen before,but he never cared before.He cared for her, a lot more then he thought he would.


Zachary Evans.

He smiled happily and looked down at his shoes and smirked,he groaned and saw the snakes and stepped back."Oh my goodness."he muttered."Those guys are huge.."he whined,a bit freaked out.

She looked at him with soft eyes and nodded,still a little teared up but not crying.She smiled softly."Sure,i'd love to go with you,"said the pretty girl and looked at the cute guy beside her.She smiled and her hand brushed aginst his softly,her pale face gently lit up to a pink blush.

Alexander glanced up at him, "Huh? Oh, I have bigger ones at my house, these ones are just Ball Pythons." he said, lifting the white snake off of his arm, "This is Isara," He said, "The temperamental one, if you want to hold on, then hold Harmonia," He added with a chuckle.
He lowered the leucistic Python on his neck and felt her curl up, content with the heat that lay on the nape of his neck.

She heard the heavy footsteps approach and got a look at the heavy set man before wincing away. The next thing she knew Dakota was flying into the room, yelling at his dad to stay away and sweeping her up off her feet once more. They were gone from the house in a blink of an eye, but Erin buried her face into his chest, tears threatening to well up from being so frightened. Familiar sounds filled her ears as the got back to the park, her bare feet touching the ground softly before the taller boy collapsed onto his knees. "Dakota!" For the second time that day she cried his name, the same mix of fear and concern mingling in the vowels and consonants. She dropped to her own knees next to him, the gravel around the bench digging into the soft skin. Cupping his face with both hands, she raised his head so their gazes locked. "Don't apologize. Don't you dare apologize for that." With one hand she gently brushed the dyed black hair from his face, truly revealing his blue eyes that swam with pain.

Witnessing what had just happened brought the two closer than what years of companionship would have. She had wanted to protect him, to save him from the abuse that they both knew so well. She might deserve it, being such a pain and sarcastic, but not him. Not her quiet, sensitive, and soft-spoken guy. Swallowing hard, her heart still beat wildly against her breast bone as she tried to compose herself. Lightly kissing his forehead, then each cheek, she looked at him, every inch of her face dead serious, "I already told you once I'm not leaving, and nothing is going to change that. Nothing."
