It was still dark, but the first rays of the morning sun streaked across the sky, rousing a figure on the grass. It had been a temperate night, with no rain or wind, so the redhead had chosen to sleep out in the park rather than be at home. During the summer she took every chance she could to slumber under the stars, it was one of the few things that would quiet her racing mind. Sitting up from the blanket, she stretched leisurely, a yawn dragging her jaws wide. Blinking sleep from her eyes, she ran a hand through the back of her hair, working the tangles out with her fingers.

Shaking her wild, red mane of hair, she glanced around her to see a lone figure sitting at one of the tables. Dakota. A smile flickered over her face as she saw the boy. He had always been a tough nut to crack, but Erin had been persistent in her attempts to socialize with him, and at this point he at least didn't seem to loathe their interactions any longer. Leaving her blanket and bag where they were, she got up and wandered over him. Still dressed in what she wore the day previously, a pair of ripped up white shorts and a black tribal tank top. She went barefoot nearly everywhere in the summer, so the cool grass tickled the bottoms of her feet. Sliding onto the bench next to the black-haired boy, she bumped her hip against him and grinned. "You're up early, sunshine."

Dakota looked over at her and rolled his eyes laying on the table alone."Mornin," he said cutting the sentence short. He didn't talk often, just wasn't him. He wondered though, why she always tried to get him to talk. Maybe she cared about him, maybe she wanted him. Heck if he knew, he would admit she was pretty dang beautiful,his red hair got him good when he first saw her.He turned his glance to her.His long black hair dropping over his eyes,his gauges sticking out from his hair.He smirked."so,why do ya always try to get me to talk?" he asked. That was probably the longest sentence he said to her.He stood up and looked at her,he was taller then her and he smirked,"anything at all, sunshine?" he replied,as biting his lip looking at the pretty girl.

The roll of the blue eyes was expected, and she would have honestly been disappointed if it hadn't happened. The clipped greeting just made her smile widen as she leaned forward, propping her elbows against the table and resting her chin on her clasped hands. She did find the dark boy to be attractive, but it was more of her interest in understanding people that drew her to him. One who expressed so little was an intriguing opportunity for her that she just couldn't pass up. Delight blossomed across her face as at his words before he stood, towering over her. She wasn't the shortest person out there, a respectable five feet and eight inches, but she was definitely a good amount shorter than the taller boy. And he was well aware of her Napoleon complex, she mockingly complained about his height every time she saw him. A pout formed on her lips as he stood over her, but she couldn't keep it up for long as he shot 'sunshine' right back at her. "Well, Beanstalk, everyone has thoughts, and I'm interested in knowing them. You choose not to share, but I know you have stuff to say. The quiet ones always make the best conversational partners once they start talking. So I try to get ya going, even if it is like pulling teeth."

Coming up behind him, she slipped her arms around his waist and hugged him, resting her cheek against his shoulder blade. "So Beanstalk... Why the sudden touchy-feely? I didn't peg you as one of those people, with the cold shoulder and all I got these past couple of months." She couldn't help but grin, her smiling gently pulling the fabric of his shirt up slightly with it, not showing anything, but the motion would be something he could feel.
