lana williams - slytherin - tagged: open

    "Keep dreaming, it might actually come true!" Lana shouted over her shoulder at the Gryffindor's last comment before she settled into her seat. She watched the first years being sorted and came to an epiphany- the reason that she despised them so much was how damn long it took for them to get sorted. It kept her from her food each year. She clapped once for each new addition to Slytherin; she couldn't be bothered to do much more. As the long list of names drew to a close she gazed around the Hall, looking for anyone she recognized- the annoying Gryffindor who she was sure she'd probably see more of, the Hufflepuff boy who was in the carriage too, the girl they'd passed, and a few others. She leaned forward in the bench eagerly as the normal speeches started, and when the food appeared she grabbed the four nearest plates to her before anyone else even had time to register what was going on. She started happily piling mashed potato and steak onto her plate, barely able to stop herself grinning in delight.

:: Quinn Parker :: Pureblood :: 18 :: Hufflepuff ::

As soon as the food appeared on the table, it was every man for himself. Quinn was one of those boys who could eat for his country, and that was exactly what he intended to do. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Niamh watching him in awe as he piled his plate with only the first round of food that he intended to eat; he was never hungrier on any other day of the year than the first day of school, "Don't look at me like that, Niamh, I'm starving," he whispered to her, wiping his hands off on a napkin before grabbing his cutlery. His sister merely shook her head and got herself a decent sized meal to last her the rest of the evening, "It's amazing how you even stuff yourself in front of your girlfriend. Mum says you'll get fat." He rolled his eyes; his mother was always telling him to cut down on the food, while his father encouraged it. 'He's still growing!' was always the argument, though Quinn probably only stayed fairly slim because of the amount of work he put into burning all the food he ate off.

    Alice DeWitt x Hufflepuff x Tired

      Alice looked over at Quinn's plate when she realised most of the food on their half of the table had disappeared. She gave him a look of amusement and teased, "That's enough food to feed a third world country, chief." While Alice had a decent amount of food on her plate, she knew she needed to stay slim-ish to be able to chase the Snitch effectively when Quidditch started up. Alice looked over at Quinn's younger sister, the newly appointed Hufflepuff. "Excited now that you're a Hufflepuff?"

Quinn rolled his eyes and nudged her gently with his shoulder, "I'm still growing," he argued around a mouthful of food before he swallowed it and flashed a grin, "I need my food." Niamh poked her head around Quinn so that she could see Alice, and offered a wide gappy smile; her two front teeth having fallen from her mouth a little over a week before the school term started, "Yeah. Quinn always told me I'd be a Hufflepuff, because it's better than the other houses and I'm better than Hannah." Quinn laughed and covered his mouth, "Please don't tell her that, I won't make it to nineteen," he joked, ruffling Niamh's hair. Hannah was what Quinn always referred to as 'the evil twin', and Niamh was the sweet one who wouldn't hurt a fly. Hannah loved pranks while her twin loved animals. It was no surprise he got on better with the latter.

    Alice DeWitt x Hufflepuff x Tired

      Alice laughed as Quinn nudged her, and at his and his sister's comments on how their other sister was not good enough to be a Hufflepuff. "I agree, you have to be pretty awesome to be a Hufflepuff." When Alice had finished her food, she could see students leaving to go to their Dorms. "I should probably take the first years to the Dorms so they know how to get in."

      She stood, up, and gathered all the first years that had finished eating before heading to the Hufflepuff dorm. She gave them directions to get in, the pattern of which you needed to knock on the barrel so you could enter, and showed them to the main gathering place in the dorm. She headed up to her room, and saw Finnley sitting on her bedpost pruning his feathers. Alice set up her bed, and organized her supplies.

Quinn had to keep reminding himself of his prefect duties, and only got up to do his job when his sister reminded him of where he should be. He managed to save a few first years who had strayed from the mass, and walked them to the common room, directing them each to their dorms. When that was done, he went up to his dorm and straight over to his bed, where his things were lying in wait. He sorted his little area out and shrugged his robe off and loosened his tie to make himself more comfortable. He figured he'd spend the rest of the night up until 10 lounging about the common room with his friends. He had to spread the word of the party in the room of requirement, and actively avoid spilling his secret to Alice. Though at this rate, it seemed his sisters ere going to be his downfall rather than anyone else.

    Alice DeWitt x Hufflepuff x Tired

      When everything had been sorted, she took her robe off leaving her in just her button up, white, dress shirt and black dressing pants. She took her scarf off and traded it for her tie, and took her prefect badge off her robe and slid it into her pocket, not wanting to wear it, but wanting to keep it in case she needed it.

      Alice left the girl's dorm and went to the main room. She plopped herself down on a single sitting chair, near the fire, and sat in it so her legs went over one armrest, and that her back was against the other. Alice watched the fire crackle, and took her badge out of her pocket and turned it over in her fingers, twiddling with it absently.

__ She didn't enjoy leaving her parents, they were after all probably bound to fall under the poverty level without her helping by getting odd jobs. It just made her hair stand on end to think she was poor, she had spent a nice amount of money on her piercings, but her parents didn't know where she got the money until the found some missing. She often stole money from her parents to do what some would call ' stupid ' things like her piercings, exotic animals, and things along those lines. You could say they were lucky they were magical because without this school Rosabella would probably be in a jumpsuit in a Juvenal Correction Facility. So Hogwarts was a little vacation for her parents, because they wouldn't have to worry about the wild child. She never really was told by her parents that they didn't mind her leaving for a long period of time, let alone tell her they enjoyed it. They didn't tell there daughter though because they thought she might take it the wrong way.

___ Her cherry red hair covered one of her eyes as she had her head angled how to the floor of the train. The compartment door was closed, and no one else was there but herself, she liked to be alone. Yet a black rodent with a pink scar on its back inched its way from beneath the seat and onto the girls lap. This girl is Rosabella Raven slaughter, at the age of 13 she is a third year chaser in the noble house of Slytherin. She preferred to take the journey alone , besides her rat Scar who was always sniffing around compartments for any clumsy kids who had dropped there food. She was going to the magical school called Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, Hogwarts for short. The trains large wheels ran smoothly along the track as the long journey was ending as the train gave an abrupt stop. She grabbed her things quickly before busting quickly from the door, ignoring any other kids, she would just shoulder them lightly to the side. Now her little rat followed her like a cat, weaving among feet as he made his way from the train with Rosabella.

__ She made her way to the carriages, they looked like they were pulled by nothing, almost as if the air was pulling them. she rushed to the first empty carriage, making her belongings take up the seats by scattering them around. So no one came with her, it was just a silent lonely ride there. It seemed like the ride was faster than the last two times she had done it, each time she knew it would get shorter and shorter, like each ride was closer to her last. she had to admit, she would miss this place, it was so big and full of the same type of kids as her, witches and wizards. It was rather odd, when she was little she dreamed of being magical, now for it to only become true made her head spin with shock. As the carriage stopped, she gather the belonging that were spread out among the seats and hopped out with a frown. She kind of wanted company, someone to walk and talk to, but she did have her rat. grabbing its skinny black body, she placed him gently on her shoulder and he sat happily there, the breeze ruffling his soft fur. As she walked her long cherry red hair that reached her waist was blown behind her like a flame as she walked silently to the school "Another year, more drama" she muttered louder than she had intended.
