I huffed, crossing my arms across my chest. "I'll restart with this: Is that a hyena? Really?" I say, stretching my voice slightly. "And I'm Cameryn Brooks Graye, also known by many as the national high-children's jumper national champ for two years on my previous horse, as well as winning eventing rounds the past two years on my horse Sly," I say. Yes, I was a bit brag-ish, but normally most people would not underestimate my girlish ways once I explained. I hated being underestimated. As in, if you underestimated me, I would go to great lengths to drag you down into the dirt. "But you can call me Cammie," I say, and then flip my blonde hair over my shoulder and walk off to get some of my grooming supplies to take care of Sly. First thing I noticed was that someone had already put their stuff by mine, and I immediatly assumed it was Tristans. I nudged his tack trunk over a few feet and then opened mine, grabbing my organized grooming bag. For my birthday I had recieved new brushes from a close friend, and she did not disappoint. My brushes were custom made in Germany, the country that I had a small obsession with since some of the best riders in the world trained there. I had a strong desire to gain enough talent to one day to go and train with some of the best. Sly was an imported Oldenburg who I had owned for two years. he was a spunky 9 year old, but would get round nicely if you knew how to ride. I flew over for two weeks to get him and got a few lessons from someone, but no one special. Sly had promises to take me far, and I believed it. We were now prepared to compete in mini-prixs, which was four-six. Large jumps intimidated me, but Sly jumped quite smoothly. I had ridden some that cracked their backs over jumps, and I had to admit that I wouldn't jump higher than 3'3 on them without a fear of being jumped out of my tack. I mean, Sly overjumped a bit, so I was jumped out many times, but for some reason I just had some certain fears.

Tristan grinned as she asked was Haca a hyena, "Yeah, really. He's spotty and laughs, how can you not love him?" He asked, a hint of a tease lining his words, he had a feeling that this girl Cameryn would be fun to tease as he listened to her achievements in horsemanship - or horsewomanship. "Sounds like your a strong jumper, maybe have to watch you sometime." He said, "I am more into my horse racing than anything else, Tornado has this thing about competitions, everyone is a competitor, including the person on his back." He said, watching as she walked of just after telling him what he could call her. A smile played off of his lips as he knelt down to ruffle Haca's fur, "Come on, lets have some exploring." He said, getting back to his feet before heading back inside the barn to look at the stalls, remembering about the horses placks as he went quickly to receive them from his trailer, putting the two black with gold writing placks on the door with ease so that everyone would know which horses were in these two stalls. Of course, Tornado was at the end stall to prevent any 'accidents' in getting at someone elses horse, while Splash would be beside him as an almost barrier from the others. That and the horse would scream the barn down if he was separated from his friend, possibly the only friend he had that didn't care what he did to him other than Tristan. He decided that maybe he could tidy up his two horses a bit before every one else arrived as he went back to the tack room, scooting his box back up with a crafty grin, so that must have been Cammie's box, no harm in messing a bit with her. He looked to see what he had in it, lifting out the brushes before heading outside again to brush up his horses, well at least Splash since Tornado wouldn't stay still long enough out in the open.

I had caught a few words that Tristan had told me as I walked off, and I found myself dwelling on them when my mind began to wander away from Sly after getting into a rhythmic movement of brushing. A bit tall for a jockey, I think as I brush down Sly's dark legs. My ADHD easily pushed Tristan out of my head as I began to fiddle with Sly's mane. I then snapped into focus and returned to the tack room with my brushes. Immediatly I took note of Tristan's tack trunk, and I pushed it over a bit more this time. I then replaced my brushes in my tack trunk and grabbed my jodhpurs. I went to my trailer and changed in the tackroom within it, putting on my blue, fitted tank top as well. I then pulled on my schooling tall boots, and returned to the tackroom in the barn. There I pulled back my bangs and twisted my hair up in a hairnet, placing my helmet on my head. I then pulled out a girth and sheepskin pad, as well as light blue polowraps and saddlepad that matched my tanktop. I grabbed my saddle and returned to Sly, taking about three minutes to complete tacking him up. Almost. I had one last trip to make to the tack room. I grabbed my leather crop which was for if Sly was acting up, which was well expected, and his figure-eight bridle.

It took me a minute or two to get Sly to accept the bit. Actually, that wasn't the hard part. The hard part was grabbing his dark, handsome head so I could actually get any part of the bridle on him. After that, I sighed in slight relief and lead him out to the ring, rubber reins draped on my arm. I lead an anxious Sly around the ring, raising a few of the jumps to about 3'9. I didn't want to do anything higher since I knew Sly would definitely be overjumping and jumping hard today, and I seriously did not need to fall off. Once I was satisfied, I lead Sly over to the fence and tightened his girth. I climbed up, attempting to get on, and Sly suddenly sidestepped away. [b"Sly!"[/b] I say in complaint. It took three more tries and a crop beating for him to cooperate. As I slid into the soft, leather saddle, Sly lurched forwards, and I sat back, a slight wave of nervousness creeping up my chest. "Woah," I say, slowling him down. or at least trying. Sly, instead of walking, was far to antsy to do anything less that trotting. I slowed him to a sitting trot, but nothing less for the excited Oldenburg.

.:: } z o e { :: } f e m a l e { :: } n i n e t e e n { :: } t h e 'a n i m a l - l o v e r' { ::.

There were many things I could get lost in and riding was one of them, I would just zone out and think only of the jumps ahead and I would only feel the thumping of my horse's strong heart. It really was an unmatched feeling of power and solitude. So my eyes were locked between Zeus's ears as he followed along the path of jumps, easily clearing all of the jumps flawlessly like we had practiced so hard back at our barn. He was one of the best jumpers, and easiest when you spoke to him softly and kindly, as he had a tendency to rear and freak out when you yelled at him or startled him. You could say he got his feelings hurt often, but he really is just a sweet baby. So after ever jump I give his shoulder a pat and whisper just this word, "Perfect." Whether it was or not, or even if he could register that word, which I had a feeling that he could, I would say it to make him feel good. I could care less if he actually knew what that meant, it was just something I did.

Though like everything in life it ended, with just a simple noise and Zeus's ears go perked and his head turned. It was obvious that he was no longer focused on the jumps, but now at the shire or Clydesdale, hard to tell at this distance, was the center of his attention. Zeus swiveled around and snorted, took a few steps back and was almost tempted to rear. He was not the best with new horses, so I started to rub his neck, as I look the rider up and down. It was obvious he was from the other barn just by how he was dressed, he was a cowboy for all I knew. Zeus held his head high though it wasn't near as tall as the shire, I could tell now since as Zeus was making small movements forward. I knew I wasn't supposed to speak to him, but I wanted to know why he was looking at me as I practiced, so I nudge Zeus to go up to the fence. He didn't get to close as he was unsure of the shire, but it was close enough for use to have a conversation. "Can I help you with something cowboy?" I say with an eyebrow raised.

(Post for Toby in a few minutes)

Nᴀᴍᴇ: Tʀɪsᴛᴀɴ Kɴɪɢʜᴛ

Tristan's thoughts dwelled on Cammie for a second, or more so which of the horses were hers. But, he had a feeling he wasn't exactly in her good books and right now he needed to go and bush down his horses, maybe later he'd try to get back into her so called good books, if that was even possible with a horse that wanted a riot and a hyena who wanted more friends. As soon as he reached the field he spent no effort in opening it to enter, instead clearing the fence while Haca squirmed his way under it, catching both horses attention. Splash offered a welcoming whinny while Tornado offered little less than a swish of his tail before he continued, making sure that he wasn't going to get caught anytime soon. He continued closer to Splash who waited with interest, still holding the brushes in his hand so that he could clean up his coat a bit from the jorney, after all if Tornado stayed in his mood Splash could be becoming the main horse of this trip quite easily. "That's a boy, at least someone's not giving me a hard time." He murmured to the stallion, using the curry comb to ease the loose dirt and dust from the spotted horses coat, Colour My Rump's coat never failed to catch his attention, it was something unique that he love to see, probably also because he was such a friendly, easy going horse.

Once Splash was decently clean, Tristan didn't even try to catch Tornado to start on him, deciding not to give the horse any more anger management problems than he already had for now. He went back inside of the barn to put his grooming supplies back in his trunk, a grin spreading onto his face when the box had been moved even further away as he slid it right back up before putting the supplies inside of it. He thought about going for a ride, but Tornado wasn't a riding option right now, and Splash would need to be there to get his attention back if he tried to charge at anyone through the fence. As much expensive, high strung thoroughbred blood that was in that stallion, was it really worth all of this jus tot compete on him? He pushed the thoughts out, he loved his stallion and his moody ways, but maybe this hadn't been the trip for him. Being lost in his thoughts he had hardly realised he'd wondered form the barn and to another black stallion, with a rider. It wasn't hard to see that it was Cammie as he kept a respectable distance as to not get into the way, seeing Haca looking at the stallion with a slightly tilted head, probably thinking that the scent wasn't Tornado's, who was the only other black horse who he really knew, "Want any help with anything? One of my stallions is being an ass and the other is babysitting him."

After half trotting half walking around the ring a few times, I had finally gotten Sly into a frame. My hands were low and he was moving a bit quieter, only bobbing and pulling away every time around or so, which was quiet good for the stubborn warmblood. Of course, our focus would not last too long; instead it was interrupted by none other than Tristan. Is voice caught me slightly off guard, causing me to tug a bit in Sly's mouth, making him bob his head and sidestep. I huffed and circled Sly before looking up. I opened my mouth to say something, but hesitated. "Actually.... I could. Can you set up a gymnastics? Or are racefolk too scared to even know how to set up a jump?" I ask in favor, but of course add in something that was just to poke him in the ribs. Sly began to tug and get impatient, and backed up a bit, causing me to readjust. "hey!" I growl, keeping my leg on him and loosening my reins a bit. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea on him; Sly took the chance to lurch forwards again in one, long, unwanted stride before falling into a spunky trot. I sat back and shortened my reins again, making another circle before getting him steady enough to return to talking distance for Tristan's answer.

Toby could see even from the distance he was at that they had been spotted, but as always he didn't really mind or care to much, it wasn't as if he'd just broke his new record for breaking a rule before it was officially set, then again maybe it was... He pushed the thoughts away, not that it mattered since he'd only seen the horse and rider, not even spoke to them and they probably wouldn't be interested in a western rider like him. That was before he seen that the beautiful stallion was making its way towards them, staying in place since he wasn't the type to run as he got a better view of the girl, a smile playing off of his lips at her question, "Unless you have a roasting hot shower and a lot of cleaning supplies for Ben here, I am not so sure." he said, gesturing towards the multiple marks on the stallion from the late party, which he stull couldn't remember Ben coming to, "Nice jumps you were doing there, My Ben here prefers to go through the jumps most of the time. By the way, I am Toby, and well if you didn't guess this big fella is Ben." He said as Ben stretched his head over the fence in an attempt to touch the other horse, already getting right into the whole making new friends part. Even through they weren't supposed to be talking, it didn't stop Toby from being curious as to how all the English riders were settling in, and who all the competition was going to be, "So how's everyone settling in over here?" He asked, clicking his tongue to get Ben's attention again before he pushed himself through the fence to get at the other horse, sometimes friendly horses could be abit to... well a bit to friendly.

Tristan seen that he had put Cammie of, they really were going to be the best of friends he thought sarcastically, waiting for a reply for his offer, "Ouch, that hurt." He said, a joking glint in his eye as he moved in to start setting up the jumps, "I'll have to jump Splash sometime, I think he'd enjoy some time away from that other brute and jumping doesn't seem like a bad idea for him at least." he said, watching as Sly lurched forward, seeing that Cammie handled it pretty well compared to what he'd seen others doing before, "And I am the one with the horse that needs under control before he spooks the barn?" He teased her, knowing rightly that Tornado could probably win the worlds worst horse award with flying colours, but it was fun to tease her, plus really it was Cammie who had started it. Once he was done setting up the gymnastic jumps he got out of the way again so that he wouldn't get ran over -which he wouldn't put past Cammie right now- to watch from the side-lines with Haca encase she wanted him to make anymore, plus it give him a chance to watch the pair jumping. "Is this up toy our high standards?" he said with a smirk, gesturing towards the jumps.

I raised a brow at that. "Please, I can jump four foot bareback on this horse. Sly's just spunky, and takes a bit to settle," I say, watching as he messed with the jumps. I then nudged Sly forwards, and he immediatly picked up the correct lead for me. I cantered around the ring twice before sitting back and watching the jumps in front of me, switching my sight to what was infront of them. The key to a gymnastics was to nail the first jump to go through the rest. I felt Sly pulling on the reins as he headed for the jumps, and I failed in attempt to hold him back, only causing an enormous overjump. My chest hit his neck as I went into two-point, but I kept my confidence and sat back up in time to get my reins for the landing. Three, two, "One!" I called out my last stride out of habit as Sly cleared the next fence. There was one stride inbetween the next two, and then the bounce. I got a terrible distance, but Sly made up for me, and we rode through the bounce. I then sat back up as my gelding sped towards the actual fence, suddenly taking a diving, shoulder dropping turn. It took me a few more strides to get him to a trot, and then a walk. I pat his dark neck as the now up and ready warmblood bobbed his head to run again.

Name:Mike Long
Gender:Male
Riding Style:Western
Horse:Trigger
Location:Western Ranch

Stiring in his sleep, Mike could not take the amount of noise outside his room. He blamed it right away on the English riders. Sitting up in bed he rubbed face trying to get the sleep out of his eyes. Running one hand through his short brown hair he stood and walked into his small little bathroom. The face in the mirror said he had a long night as he reached for his tooth brush. He started brushing his teeth and walked to his cloest to look for something to where. He had not done laundry in a while leaving the shirt he wanted to where rolled into a ball on the floor. Grabbing the pair of wranglers he wore yesterday, he slipped them over his sleeping boxers and walked back into the bathroom to spit and rinse. Setting his tooth brush back into the little cup Mike walked back to the closet and pulled out an old white t-shirt. It was plain but just did not feel the plaid today. Slipping on the shirt he rumaged through his room for a pair of socks and his boots. Once he had his boots he reached for his black felt hat and walked out into the crazy morning air.

Looking around he could see he was just about the last one awake. He walked towards the stable in search of his young horse Trigger. He was surprised the horse had not broken out of his stall yet as he reached the window of the stall. To his surprise the young horse whinned happily at the sight of Mike. "Well ya sure had me this mornin boy, I figured you'd a broken out," He opened the stall door and allowed the horse to walk out into the hall of the stall. "Shall we practice a bit today," Walking to the tack room with Trigger on his heals, Mike went in for his favorite tack. It was a set that he had won a few years back in a bull riding competition. He had bet another man that he could stay on longer. Mike won and was given the tack as a fair trade. Trigger waited in the hall as Mike grabbed the Indian patterened blanket and set in on the horses back. He then grabbed the black saddle with a slight sivler trime and strapped it in place. Next came the Indian rope halter and the black and silver bridle. Once the tack was in place Mike led Trigger outside.

Looking over at the reining arena Mike smiled. "Come on boy, we'll do a little reinin today," Mounting Trigger, Mike gently tapped the horses side and directed him to the arena. He could not see any of the other Western Riders in the arena so he reached out of the saddle and opened the gate. Trigger could not wait for Mike to close the gate and sprinted forward into the arena. "Whoa ya crazy horse. Ya tryin to throw me already," Sitting staight in the saddle Mike through his feet forward and pulled on the reins bringing the excited horse to a sliding stop. "And that is how ya do it country style," Smiling Mike turned Triggers head and pushed him into a slow trot around the arena. He hoped someone would want to go on a trail ride. It was a great morning for a ride but alone just wasnt the same. He continued to trot Trigger is circles before using his feet to direct the horse where to go.
