He sat there, enveloped in the darkness. He waited in silence, out of sight. It was soon time for him to meet the angels in this experiment. To make peace with the angels. He knew it would end badly; angels hate demons, and demons loathe angels. The idea is basically encoded in their DNA. To make peace… it was absurd. Light can’t be the reigning victor for eternity, the same reason that darkness can’t rule forever. There needed to be a balance and thus created the endless cycle of bloodshed between the two races. But there was also logic to such a pact; to create a ceasefire in the war. It would also be interesting to see the outcome of this experiment. Despite all logic and thought, the demon knew darkness would prevail, whether it be the angels’ need to purify, or the demons’ desires to corrupt.
The demon’s outer appearance could invoke fear in even the bravest of heroes. He opened his eyes, revealing deep red eyes. Silver hair rested across his face with a tail curled around his legs. Intricate markings were carved over his face and arms, with large claws crossed over each other. Two sets of horns were planted on his head, and a set of large spikes erupted from his back that were almost wing like. The light from the sun made the tips of his appendages gleam red. The markings on his body seemed to pulsate like lava. He was defiantly a force to be feared, which is how he achieved his rank and reputation among demons and mortals alike. But to those who know him he is calling Emilio.
Emilio sighed heavily, his eyes wandering up to the sky. It seemed it was time for him to go, as he saw the outline of an angelic being in the distance. Pushing himself up, Emilio made his way to the mansion. He stood in front of the looming doors, closing his eyes as dark flames engulfed his body. What before was the embodiment of evil and fear now stood a more human looking figure. The markings on his body were dull, bare human hands replaced his demonic gloves, the spikes that donned his back were gone, and the horns upon his head were smaller. Emilio preferred to hide his true form as to not be so intimidating in the eyes of the small crowd. He had no need to harm any angels yet, and it was better they didn’t see him for who he really was as the demon didn’t trust these light-bearers. Without another second passing by, he pushed open the doors and entered the mansion.
The place was too bright for his liking; he preferred the solitude of a dark toned castle. But he would deal with it, as if the angels saw his distaste to the place they could use such a thing against him. Emilio wanted as much advantage over the angels as he could. Emilio stood in the center of the room, his ominous yet regal presence filled the room, before he slunk of into the shadows and out of sight. He leaned against the wall, arms crossed as he watched others enter the building. As soon as the crowd seemed to settle down, an angel came forth and addressed the crowd. Telling everyone of their partners. Emilio heard his name first, with the name of his partner following. Amberley Wynters. What a precious and fragile name. He doubted that an angel could even try to be compatible with him. But the demon would have to see. Emilio looked around the room to see if he could identify the Angel’s Assistant, but found no such person. He grunted under his breath; maybe she ran off to stay away from him as long as possible. Understandable; Emilio definitely preferred the comfort and solitude of darkness. Soon enough the Angel Advisor dismissed the brief meeting. Everyone scrambled off, their own plans in mind. He waited for silence to settle in before heading off, taking his time to explore the mansion where he would be chained to for who knows how long.

Orion wandered around the mansion, peeking his head into a few rooms to see what this place was like. It was grand maze; long hallways leading all sorts of different room. He tried to take in all the sights and to map out the place in his mind. But he knew it would be a long time before he could even get a feel for the place. As he let his feet take him to the unexplored places, his mind wandered back to the demons. He was nervous yet highly curious of his own partner, the Demon Harpy. What would they be like? As he delved deeper into his thoughts, ideas of horrible scenarios overtook his mind. He grumbled under his breath as he once again shook his conscience out of his twisted imagination. Whoever they were, there are darker demons out there. A heavy sigh escaped his lips before he deiced to make his way back to the main room. As he entered the gathering place, he heard a voice call out to him, perking his interested. Orion brought his gaze skyward to see something calling out to him. A smile crept on his face; a familiar and comforting sight. It was Mika, the angels’ very own Advisor. When he established eye contact with her the Angel of Sky responded to her call. “Hello,” he called in a regal and warm tone. Orion wondered what she calling him for. “What is it that I can help you with?” he finished, being very polite to her. It felt good to finally speak to someone he could trust after his ongoing, long anticipated wait to meet the demon assigned to be his partner.
