Micheal continued to stare at her skeptically. That didn't make sense. It only took one person to yell at a village, and he highly doubted she had the physical strength to keep the forest in order.

Demon hesitated then Kayla spoke for him. "No..." she mumbled, gasping as Demon gave her another shove.

[Jaguar's Heart]

Tahalasighed again, "right now all you're doing is yelling at the ken, but I can talk to their wives." she shook her head, "you might think men rule, but its the women who manipulate them. you won't be able to talk to them."

Ciara's ears pinned more, "oh, okay."

Micheal raised a eyebrow, "And why's that? I'm talking to you. You don't think there's other women who like to take a stroll in the woods, or pick some herbs... er something?"

Demon hesitated, and looked at Ciara, "You can help when we get back to camp... We're almost there."

Tahala shook her head again, "village women are raised to never go out alone, and never talk to strange men... But they can talk to me."

Ciara nodded, "she's gonna make it, right?" She whispered to her dad.

Micheal rolled his eyes, "Well, that goes to show how well you were raised." he said, cocking his head slightly and trying to hide the bit of sparkle of teasing in his eyes.

Demon nodded, "Of course." he said, giving Kayla another forceful shove as she began to slow down again.

Tahala glared at him again, but a smile in her eyes, "very true, but I still know the rules. I can help, micheal."

Ciara ran to Kayla's other side, to catch her incase she fell.

He swallowed and shook his head, "I really don't think you can."

Kayla stumbled on until they reached the clearing and she almost slumped to the ground but Demon gave her another hard shove.

Tahala gave him a true glare now, "then I'll do it on my own."

Ciara walked with them, trying to help

Micheal snorted, "Do what? Go round telling all the woman to tell their husbands to stop hunting and stop cutting stuff down? Are you going to tell all the leader's wives to tell their husbands to stop expanding their villages and making money? Do you really think that will work? Are you willing to jeoprodize the few truces I've made? Are you willing to put the safety of the wolves, the other animals, the other tribes, my tribe all on the line?"

As they finally reached the river Demon stopped and let Kayla stumble and splash into the river on her own.

Tahala started pacing again, "of course I wouldn't do that! Just show them a few alternatives. For every tree removed, plant another. Only hunt older animals, leave the young to prosper. That sort of stuff."

Ciara watched, nervous at her dad's side.
