Jasper hastily followed Stella to the clearing. As he reached the small patch of grass, he turned to face Stella, nervousness sweeping over him. "Stella..." He said "I... I'm not sure how to say this and... And I won't judge you if you rub away screaming-" He flashed her a quick grin, "-but I think I love you." His voice was steady, despite his thudding heart. The last of the autumn leaves pirouetted around them, the golden sunlight glinting on bare trees around the two. The sun slowly sank further towards the horizon, casting out sunlight in crimson, gold and orange, the light glittering on the grass around them. Jasper's eyes sparkled in the light, hopeful and loving, wanting Stella to say she loved him too.

She smiled, thinking about her past dilemma, which seemed to be washed away by a wave of relief. "I'm not going to run away screaming..." She said with a grin. "Jasper, I have been having such a rough time...." She blinked away a picture of Raven, then continued, "But I know that I love you too." Stella wagged her tail, her turquoise eyes shining with happiness.
