Shadow looked at her a bit puzzled. No one had ever asked about his family or his past. He looked away to the sky "They were a real family. My father was the alpha of the Royal Shadow's pack. He had been the youngest of his brothers and still managed to make the cut. They were devoted to one another not just mates but the entire pack. If someone was in danger everyone was there to help. That's probably why they ended up getting caught in the fire." he said as he closed his eyes and the memories came flooding back to him. "Humans had set fire to a section of woods hoping to smoke out a herd of elk. They couldn't control it and it spread quickly. The inferno engulfed the whole forest. My older brothers got caught in the rocks and everyone went back to help. However I was told to stay behind and pushed into an ice shaft. That was the last time I saw them." He said as he looked back at the snow. There was more to it than that but he was not going to tell everything so easily. After all that was part of the story that everyone knew. That the Royal Shadow's were devoted and loyal as well as fears.

Omega couldn't help but smile softly, his family seemed so loving and caring for each other. Though as he spoke of the fire she looked up to him with ears fallen back. "They seemed to love you very much." With a jerk of her body she acted on a feeling before thinking, before she knew it her muzzle was under his chin. Giving him a sympathetic nuzzle before eyes widened to what she did and laid back down as if nothing happened. An ear flicked softly for a moment, "If only all packs were so loving as yours was Shadow, then this world wouldn't be so harsh."

Shadow shook his head "It was their kindness that made my family weak. Not all had to die that day." he said with a stern look. It was then that the innocent youngster that Shadow had been became cold and hard to others and kept them all at bey and away from his home.

Tulip sighed and slumped her paws out from under her. She laid with all her legs spread out from under her. She closed her eyes taking deep breaths one after the other. She open her eyes to see a snow flake fall on her nose then her eyes were forced shut by pure exhaustion.

Omega looked down and away from him, "It was not the kindness that made them weak, they were not weak at all. It was the acts and situation, the choices they made to try to do something rather then give up hope that got them killed." The silence grew again as she kept still, staring down at the snow. Even if he had only had such a wonderful family for a short time it was more then most got their whole lives. Slowly she started to lick at her black paw, giving her something to do, something for her mind to focus on.

Raven looked at Midnight, she blinked a bit, "Yes I suppose" she said she started to go in but stopped looking back at Midnight, "Are you also going to come in?" She asked, "If the storm is coming we should be sheltered" she added smiling at Midnight softly.

Midnight look in Raven's direction, his left ear flick towards her and he didn't say anything then after a short while he smile kindly. "That would be nice, that it would." He slowly walk beside Raven then he stop and turn his head to Raven. "Females go in first. That is the way it should be, that it is."

Raven smiled sweetly, she liked his smile, it suited him, she nodded her head, "Okay" She said padding into the den and sitting down looking around curiously, "It's nice having a den" She said, "The one I was staying in was lonely and sometimes cold" She said, mostly because it was so big. She looked towards Midnight softly, she was glad he agreed to join her in the den and even that he had even offered to let her in his den. "Thank you" She said softly.

[Snowdrift]

Midnight follow the sound of Raven's voice, slowly walking into the den. He sniff around then he lay down, blocking the den entrance. He shift his weight slowly, making himself comfortable before he flick his right ear to Raven and he smile kindly again. "Ah...no thanks necessary. This one is just to helpful, that it is."

Shadow looked at her "That isn't how I see things. I have had my views for more than nine years. Even before they died I knew what my pack was." He told her with a sigh as he laid down in the snow.
