It was true, Shadow understood hardship and the toll unaddressed emotions could take on someone, but she had expected a wolf who was becoming accustomed to Pack life to be more prepared to work and act a team player. I cannot fault him for emotion. Then Shadow's anger was dulled by the amusement of watching Mick's confusion. She beckoned him forward. "Yes you," she insisted with what was almost a flicker of laughter. When the smaller white wolf finally came to join them, she touched noses with him in greeting and respect. "And Mick, to be Lead Hunter. He will be in charge of organizing the hunting patrols and giving final orders with ANYTHING to do in regards of hunting. Now to our Lead Warrior..." she faltered. Her gaze dropped momentarily before coming to rest on the area of the outburst, were Ghost and StormCloud had started their fight. She’d not missed the anger on StormCloud's face as well as his shouting. I thought he had more patience than that...pity, really. That left her in a precarious position. Her mind flashed to all the personalities, all the ways the wolves had interacted as far as she had known. Her eyes settled on one particular wolf, and she hesitated only a moment after that. He reminds me of myself in his mannerisms on occasion. He's proven himself a team player too. That has the makings of a fine leader. "Zane, if he would accept?"

Smoke tried to stay where she was, still, almost expressionless despite the sudden outbursts, but expressionless didn’t suit her, especially when she was driven to shock and alarm, and that emotionless mask soon melted away into near panic. She pressed against Star's side, hiding her face against the larger wolf's pelt. "What’s going onnnnn?" Her voice was almost a whimper. She couldn’t even focus on the meeting all of a sudden. Not with all this.

Ghost still bristled, backing up a step as StormCloud moved. Would he attack her? She was so afraid... she hated confrontation, but as StormCloud continued to cry, she found her fear ebbing away. He was no brave warrior like she originally though. Her tail lowered as she looked down at him with a sneer. He may be a survivor of the hardships he faced, but he was just an unstable bully and she didn't want him anywhere near her or her friends ever again.

At least I was fortunate enough to find this out on my first interaction with him. She thought. Who knows how long I would have thought him a decent wolf, had this argument not happened? For a moment, she pitied Maui, who didn't appear to be in the camp. Would the she-wolf still want to hang around him, when she saw how vile StormCloud could be? She sighed through her nose and turned to Zane to speak, only to find that Comet was addressing them.

She dipped her head respectively to the new Beta and listened carefully as he chastised StormCloud, before turning to her. Her ears perked as he spoke to her and she felt herself warm under his understanding. She bowed her head.
"It would be my pleasure to aid you and the pack in any way I can. If that's a lesson about the trials I've faced, I'm happy to oblige." She replied, before falling quiet again.

With a final warning look to StormCloud, she moved to sit beside Zane, curling her tail over his and letting him lean against her large frame. She needed to feel the warmth of her pack mates beside her, especially one who she trusted so dearly. When Shadow then addressed Zane, she stiffened slightly.

"Zane," She whispered to him. "Shadow has asked you to be the Lead Warrior. You must accept - sky-dogs only know who else she might appoint if you deny the spot." She advised. "Let's get this over with and go lay down after, okay?" Sky-dogs knew she could use a proper cuddle right then.

The pup and story loving female sighed a bit...She made a squeaking sort of sound when the gray she wolf leaned against her. She looked to Ghost, seeing she seemed to want to get away soon. Well, looked like she'd have to talk to Shadow alone...Maybe, maybe not, and maybe she shouldn't bother her today. She looked to Smoke, saying "Stormcloud got mad like ten minutes after the fact...I really hope he's alright. I don't want him getting kicked out of the pack, or made an omega."

The brown eared and legged female flicked her brown tail. She dropped low too, deciding to imitate what the other she would did. She yawned a bit in nervousness, but kept it quiet. She then saw the fire wolves they had been smelling. She too noticed how they were looking, and acting. She looked to Max, seeing he seemed basically the same way. She couldn't help but howl as well. Besides the fact they needed to know she was also there, with Harvest. She then continued to walk. She tried to look just as confident.

She kept silent, letting the other den tender talk. She noticed the Beta, healer, a very young wolf, some apprentices, and the other survivors. Not that she nor Harvest would know what befell the rival/enemy pack back there. She hummed a canine sound, wanting to go to the apprentices. She only shook her head, however, and sighed. She nodded along to the question the other she wolf posed. She then dipped her head to the Fire alpha, then lifted it back up quickly.

The red eared one flicked their red and white tail. They made a small sound, heterochromatic eyes looking forward. They studied the two she wolves now before the pack...They carried the scent of pups and mothers, so probably not a threat.

The happy and lucky but fiery and stubborn one flicked their white tipped tail. The pretty chocolate one stood beside Jay and noticed the she wolves.

"Understood. Let me know once you’ve made up your mind one way or another, and answer not because an Alpha asked, but instead, answer honestly, of your own free will. The meeting is dismissed!" Shadow announced, nodding to each of the wolves she had called up in turn. Then she turned towards Ghost and StormCloud. "You two, I need a word with you." Her voice betrayed nothing for the moment. She could not, WOULD not, let herself express any kind of uncertainty or upset in front of the majority of the Pack.

"It's not a CRIME to yell. If he’d physically attacked, that’d be a WHOLE other story, but he got upset and jeez that kind of volume all of a sudden is scary. Do I sound that loud when I start barking in the morning?" Smoke asked, blinking as she peered around her friend's frame, wide eyed as Shadow marched stiffly towards Ghost and StormCloud. Uh oh...Shadow's gonna get involved? That could go really wrong if it escalates...

Ghost was surprised to see that Zane had asked for the time to think it through. She lay one of her paws gently over Zane's, before she saw Shadow approaching her. She began to tremble then - Ghost never got in trouble? Was it because she called StormCloud ugly? Well, he was! He deserved it! Just because he was crying crocodile tears didn't mean that she should also get a stern talking to, right?

"Alpha is calling me... I'll be back as soon as I can. I'll meet you by your nest, okay? Go rest if you need to." She told Zane, offering him a brief lick across his ear, before she picked herself up and padded over to where Shadow was. She kept carefully away from StormCloud, putting as much distance between them as possible.

"Yes, Alpha...?" She said, uncertainty in her voice. "What can I help you with?"

Shadow looked between the two younger wolves. "I don’t know what started it, and I don’t want a 'he did it'/'she did it' answer. I want to know what in the same of the sky-dogs went on. StormCloud, I understand you’re new to Pack life, and it can be a learning curve to settle in properly, but at the very least, interrupting a Pack meeting, and to verbally attack one of your own Packmates, no less! And Ghost, I don’t know exactly what spawned this, but you most certainly did not have to continue to engage once it began to escalate. Tell me what happened. Tell me exactly what happened," she ordered, tone firm and tense.

Ghost took a shaky, deep breath. It seemed as though Shadow's new Beta had a better idea of what was going on than the Alpha herself. Of course, she reminded herself as she took another breath, the Alpha could hardly be everywhere at once.
"Yes, my A-Alpha." She stammered out, not being used to being in trouble.

"Earlier today I invited StormCloud over to eat with me, Smoke and Starfire. He's new to the pack so I thought he could use some company. We began to chat, but a question was brought up regarding my..." She looked at her paws, shame flooding her. "Inner workings... He asked me the hows and whys in regards to my ability to have pups. It made me uncomfortable. I went on to tell him that I didn't wish to speak to him and I turned around to continue my conversation with Starfire and Smoke, as well as my dear friend Zane, who joined us." She explained, her throat becoming tight with anxiety as she looked back up at Shadow.

"He didn't say anything else to us, so I thought he wouldn't after that. Then you called everyone to the announcement and I was staying back with Zane, who was finishing his breakfast. It was in the middle that suddenly StormCloud came at the two of us, shouting and snarling with his teeth exposed out of no where! I thought he was going to attack me, Alpha! I've never been afraid of a pack mate in my life, but I was then. I still am. So I reacted by... Well you heard what I said. I would've said anything to get him to leave me and Zane alone." She looked over at where StormCloud sat. "I don't want to be anywhere near him any time soon, if I'm being perfectly honest, Alpha. He scares me. He's so new to the pack... we don't know anything about him! Nightfall seems sweet and Rosa is so young... but if he's so quick to fight with his pack mates and invalidate their own feelings..." Her body shook and her tears gleamed. "I-I don't know what to think about our future, if we accept that sort of behavior. Begging your pardon, Alpha."

The fear scent that washed over Shadow from the young Hunter was a lot to take in. "Nobody should be asking you anything about your inner workings, or anything on a personal level unless they have your permission to do so. You do not have to be around anyone you don’t wish to be. Since you two aren’t sharing a rank, you don’t have to worry about patrols or the likes either." She stepped forward to move between them, as if hoping that little blockage would offer some source of comfort. "I only heard, I did not see. Did he physically harm you?" She asked. That was what she was most concerned about. How dire exactly was the situation in terms of safety?

"N-No, Alpha. He did not physically harm me... yet." Ghost admitted. "I don't know if that will change, but I should truly hope that all of this can be put behind us. However, my Alpha... He does share a rank with my friend, Zane, in the way that they're both Warriors. Unless Zane becomes the Lead, I suppose..." She eyed StormCloud, wondering if he would even take orders from Zane after this confrontation. "I worry for my friends, Alpha. I do not trust the newcomer after this outburst." She concluded. "I want to feel safe again... I want my friends and packmates to feel safe." She let out a breathy sigh of relief as Shadow stepped between herself and StormCloud and seemed to shrink down as though to hide behind the white she-wolf, though doing so when she herself was quite large, was tricky to execute.
