“I would do it,” He stated. He liked doing the herb sorting. So why not do it for the rest of his life?

Accalia’s eyes widened just the slightest bit. Aloe? My Trainee? She echoed quietly in her head. A soft smile came to her face as she relaxed and wrapped her tail comfortably around her body. “I’d be more than honored to have Aloe as my Trainee.” The she-wolf responded, tilting her muzzle respectfully towards the ground. “If you’re sure about this, I’ll find Alpha Shadow and see if things can be arranged.”

"My word, you got some coltsfoot? The Alpha ought to give you a promotion on the spot!" Red replied, rolling her eyes. "You got thorns in your fur, Liam? You're not so pretty when you act like you've got a stick where your tail should be." She stuck her head out of the healers den. "Do you see anyone hurrying our way for healing? Cause I don't." She said and backed up, fixing Liam with a glare. "Until there are wolves in this den who actually need help, instead of you fretting like a downed bird in a storm, I can do whatever I'd like. And unless you want to be one of my injured patients, Liam, I strongly suggest you keep your nose out of how I choose to live my life." She added with a growl, before stalking off towards the fresh kill pile.

Zeus opted against reminding Fish that she wasn't actually a warrior, but an all-around. Sure, she'd been trained to fight and defend, but she hadn't gotten the full scope of the training that Fish had received. Still, she was certain that with her added skills as a hunter, she would be able to follow the trail more easily to wherever they were going.

"We'll be just fine." She assured her friend. "And the camp isn't too far out, so if we called for backup I'm sure we would be heard with no trouble. That's more than enough time to detain an enemy and allow for backup." She replied, trying to be reassuring despite the serious tension in the air. "Come on, we haven't got a moment to lose." She said and started on the trail.

It didn't take long before they came across the prey remains. Zeus growled down at the deer, the body had gone cold - but what corpse wouldn't on a morning like this one? That said... "The blood still flows if you poke along its soft spots. This was freshly killed this morning and..." She sniffed along the deer's legs and around its neck, trying hard to concentrate. "And I think I'm able to pick up the scent of the wolf who caught it... But it's hard around the kill itself." She bristled. "Darn trespassers. Don't they have the sense to avoid catching prey on another wolves territories?"

This deer could've fed her pack mates, like Fish and Smoke or Accalia. Instead, it had gone to some wandering fiend who could tell the difference between a scent trail and a border. She inhaled the faint scent deeply.
"I think I'll be able to track them, but we've got to hurry before I lose the scent." She told Fish.

Striker glanced at Morrigan. " Take the pups, Arian and Max can decide what to do with them." Grabbing two by the scruff, he raced out of the den, Morrigan and his side.

Kahn

Kahn looked over at Quicksilver as she approached. " Hey! Nothing much, just talking about stuff. How bout you?" He asked, cocking his head and smiling brightly.

Coyote Pup 3

The she-pup snarled in defense of being picked up my the wolf. She wanted her mom! Squirming, she tried to bit the female that was holding her by her scruff.

Liam growled under his breath at the older She-wolf. " Well at least I had the decency of looking at the stores." He grumbled and shot the healers back a murderous look. He didnt like being pushed around. Red was an alright healer, but at least she could have done some things to help Liam. Shaking his pelt, he walked over to the stores and started to sort the coltsfoot into its small cubby.

Tendril
Fire Pack | Hunter Trainee | Location: Camp (to) Forest | Tagging: Crow

Tendril looked up the first time her name was called. She was, thankfully, an attentive wolf and hadn’t missed Crow’s bark. The lithe she-wolf wrinkled the bridge of her muzzle slightly and watched as the small dispute took place between her Trainer and Rue, narrowing her eyes slightly as she saw the brown Trainee’s claws sink into the earth. They couldn’t possibly fight... Tendril shuffled her paws a little, then rose gingerly- and quickly- to her feet as Crow approached. She opened her mouth, but shut it as the other wolf swiftly told her their training session for the day. With no time to prepare, Tendril watched her Trainer dart off towards the camp exit. She blinked once, giving off vague confusion, but gave a start and began to follow after.

The Hunter Trainee ducked out of the camp, feeling as light as air as she emerged into the lush forest. Birds sang their songs, and the canopy rustled as if answering back. It was peaceful. Almost. Tendril thundered after Crow, deciding speed mattered more than silence in this case. To the largest boulder, huh? The wolf reviewed in her head, picturing the scene and where it was. Her paws thumped against the forest floor, braking small twigs and causing marks in the soft soil. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as exhilaration coursed through her blood, sending a tingling sensation into her spine. As she bolted forwards, Crow’s recognizeable pelt flashed not to far in front of Tendril. She seemed to be catching up.

Lucas | Lightning Warrior Trainee | Location: Training Grove | Tagging: Shadow, Leo

Lucas' ears flicked back when Shadow told him that they would, in fact, be drawing blood. His eyes slid away from his Trainer and Alpha. If she wasn't the Alpha, would he have spoken against this? He didn't want to hurt Leo and there were ways of attacking wolves without drawing blood, but...He repressed a sigh and nodded. He understood what she was saying, even if he didn't understand the reasoning behind it. He didn't pursue the life of a Warrior to wound his own pack mates, but if his Alpha willed it, he would obey her wishes.

As they left the camp and moved into the training grove, he looked from Shadow to Leo. He moved to one side of the clearing and stood there. No blows to the head or neck. Don't leave the clearing. Don't leave permanent damage. He closed his eyes, searching for a place within him, somewhere he could hide away while his body did all the fighting. Over the course of his training, he'd developed this place - somewhere where his mind could escape while something... else seemed to take over and apply the methods of his training. Maybe he shouldn't have invited Leo to train with him after all. Ah, well, he had to pass this assessment. Maybe Leo would forgive him for doing his best. They could lick their wounds together later. Leo wasn't going to hold back... and Lucas wouldn't either.

He waited, sinking deeper into himself, until his eyes slid open and he glanced at Shadow. He was ready, whenever she gave the go ahead.

Watch my back, she said. Crow thought as he ran through the forest. She'd better watch her tone, or else I'll talk to her Trainer or the Alpha about it. She doesn't have any power over me, she's just a whiny brat that's upset she got laughed at for being stupid. Crow thought. Of course, it was always easier to think of yourself as more courageous when you were running away from the situation. Thinking smack - or even talking it, was not quite as foolish, when you were far from the problem at paw.

Glancing behind him to ensure Rue wasn't following, he nearly jumped out of his pelt to see someone was gaining on him - before he remembered he'd invited his Trainee out to follow him. Of course, it was only Tendril.
"Come on, we're almost there!" He urged her and turned his muzzle to see the grey boulder fast approaching. He tried his best to stop, his paws skidding across the dirt, before he finally stopped, his nose just touching the rock and his heart racing. After a moment of staring at the rock and relaxing every tensed muscle in his body, he got up, his legs a little wobbly. "Phew, that was a close one!" He said, before turning to look for his Trainee. Maybe she would be lagging behind and he'd have time to actually think of what he'd be teaching today.

Arian could not deny the flicker of satisfaction that came with being seen in a leadership position, even if it was only for a brief moment in time. "We should head back and deliver a report. It remains up to Alpha Max what becomes of the thieves and their young. Sky-dogs forbid should we have need for any further thieves," she muttered.

Watching the two of them, Shadow gave a firm nod and stepped back. An assessment for two Trainees at once could be quite beneficial. She was nervous over the idea of drawing blood, for one was her own Trainee, and the other her only surviving Pup, and she had to remind herself they weren’t pups anymore. They were almost adults, and if things were not this way, she could not see exactly where their progress was at. "Alright, begin at will."

Smoke giggled to herself. "I know! Sorry, sorry, I couldn’t help it. When you have a chance, take it!" She declared. WAS she sorry? No, not really, but an apology- even mock- seemed appropriate.


Leo | Warrior Trainee | L-Pack | Tagging: Shadow, Lucas | Location: Training Grove


Leo lowered himself into a crouch and nodded to his opponent. "Best of luck." Lucas had more training than him, though not by much, and had been trained by one of the Pack's best fighters, so he didn’t expect it would be an easy fight, and good thing too! Easy fights were boring!

Bailey's trained me pretty well...I think. It’s easy to learn, but I’ve never had to actually APPLY those skills until now. Leo realized, which made him a BIT nervous, but nothing he couldn’t handle, he told himself, and tensed his muscles, eyes never leaving Lucas as he sized up his opponent and waited for the first attack. It had been Lucas' planned assessment, it felt only right if he got the first attack.

Fish narrowed her eyes at the half eaten carcass. The biggest insult wasn’t that there was a trespasser, or that they had hunted prey rightfully belonging to the Pack. No, the biggest insult was that they had killed and had abandoned such precious food at this time of year half eaten. The Pack wolves were always taught it was to dishonour the creature who had given their life if the prey went to waste in the end.

"Then let’s go. This is more than just trespassing, this is an insult to the creature, and to the Pack this creature's meat would have fed," Fish growled. She had lost the scent, but she had also not primed herself during her training for tracking, so much as the fighting that was expected of a Warrior. "You still have the scent?"
