Luna sighed softly. Even though she had spent most of her (many, many) days alone, learning the inner workings of the forest, she had never ventured very far into civilization. She did have one, very old, very faint memory however...
The young fawn cowered beneath the fiery animal’s gaze, her heart pounding in her tiny chest. Without her parents, she was easy prey for the pack of elementals. She squeezed her small eyes shut and waited for the final blow, when she heard a blood-curdling scream in the distance. The cruel canine’s head whipped around in a snarl, and a dark colored blur rammed into the stunned predator.
“Run!” A voice shouted from within the violence. Somehow, the message got through to the little fawn’s heart, and she ran. Ran, and ran and ran. She vowed never to return to that cursed place, and concluded that the company of others would only bring more violence, and more pain...
A clouded look passed over Luna’s deep eyes, and she felt like a fawn in the eyes of a predator again. She shook her head to break the illusion.
“I-I don’t know if that’s a good idea, the elementals are very strong,” she replied, her voice still shaky from the bone chilling flashback. She glanced around the clearing for any possible spies. She had not sensed a trap when she entered the meeting, but it was better to be safe than sorry...
[I’m willing to expound upon the flashback if anyone’s would like, feel free to pm me!]

Myla looked up at her mother, her childish smile fading if for just a moment. Something was wrong, Momma wasn’t happy... but the young hatchling could not figure out what was troubling her parent, so she turned back to her wooden toys, oblivious to the gravity of the situation. Myla giggled as she pushed two oak horses together in a gesture of hugging, and her mother seemed to smile. A small beetle scuttled across the floor, and she attempted to pin it down, but her paralyzed tail could not move fast enough, and the creature fled into a crack in the floor. Myla huffed in frustration.
