Taika eventually entered the woods, following a pathway until she found the place where everything happened. She stepped on a shard of broken glass and hissed, tearing it out of her foot. She noted a blood trail and thought about following it, but decided against it at the last minute. She walked up to the strange creature, which was just lying there at the moment. She started to circle around it, trying to see if it moved before she came any closer.

with wide-eyes, she stepped out of the jeep, running over to the one in front. she peered inside to see taylor, shaken but unhurt, and sighed with relief. ''are you alright?'' tera gave the medic a concerned look. moments later she heard thudding from the woods, the hairs on her neck raising with alarm. she turned around, to see the narrow jaws of a spinosaurus leading it's massive body through the trees, and squeaked with fear. not another one..

snapper growled as the scent of the tyrannosaur became stronger. he ducked his head in a threatening way as he looked around for the beast, instead catching light glinting off of metal. he moved towards the shiny object, only to come upon a strange-looking crushed object, and a bigger one behind it. there were two pink creatures scurrying around it, and he could smell fear in the air. he stared at the beings warily, but he wasn't hungry and just continued into the woods. he had bigger problems to deal with. he soon found droplets of blood spattered through the undergrowth, reeking of t-rex. the spino slowly made his way along the trail, until he came upon a large nest, littered with colourful feathers and such. he narrowed his eyes at the beast inside, a large tyrannosaur, and growled loudly.

ghost darted along the damp jungle floor, enjoying stretching her legs after a nights rest. she stopped quickly, staring into the river for signs of fish. spotting a small school, she waited by the water for them to get closer, eventually snapping her jaws and grabbing a nice big piranha variant.

ema bit her lip as tera left the safety of the vehicle, unsure if the creature was gone. as if answering her question, the truck began vibrating, repeating what had happened just minutes earlier. she gripped the steering wheel tightly, knuckles paling, before winding down the window.

just as she began calling for the two younger women, another dinosaur lurked from the brush, snarling. this one had a much narrower snout, with webbed feet and pebbled skin. much different from the tyrannosaur, ema thought. and bigger.

it gave the vehicles an indifferent glance, not even stopping to investigate. it went in the same direction the rex had gone, tracking it by following the blood it had left behind.

she knew what kind of dinosaur that was. it was a spinosaurus. hazy memories of jurassic park 3 breached her mind, causing a fearful, yet excited curiosity to urge her to follow. would the spinosaurus really win in a fight?

she thought not; it might have been physically longer than the tyrannosaurus, but the feathered theropod had bulk and a jaw shape akin to a bulldog's. if it caught the spinosaurus, it wouldn't be letting go any time soon.

but, then again, scientists seemed to think t-rex had a relatively weak bite force. enough to crush taylor's jeep, but maybe not enough to snap the neck of something so large.

"we should follow that one," she told tera and taylor, poking her head out the window. "if we keep our distance, we shouldn't even bother them."

something caught the struthiomimus's eye, a dark streak at the forest's edge. he straightened immediately, rising to his full height to get a good look at the other animal. it was gone before he could see it properly; he honked, intrigued, wondering if he could run faster than whatever it was.

after a few motionless moments, he carefully inched toward the spot where the creature had disappeared. he sniffed the air, but something foreign and metallic clogged his nose. he peeked between the redwoods, closer than he'd ever been before to the great trees.

he stepped into the treeline, slinking behind the mysterious animal. would he regret this decision? probably. but he was very good at remembering where he'd been or where he would go; he wouldn't soon forget his path into the forest.

it didn't take long at all to find the source of the earlier screeching, as well as other dinosaurs. he came by just in time to see a massive spinosaur thundering in the direction he'd just came, as well as a quick and crafty utahraptor, scoping out the area. but the most intriguing sight were the strangely-shaped rocks, glittering like water in a lake. one looked crushed, as though a big theropod had taken it between its jaws.

the orange ornithomimid didn't doubt that. but how dumb did you have to be to bite rocks?

he remembered when he was younger, he swallowed a pebble. but that wasn't the same! at least he could actually eat it! it was an honest mistake!

her huge eye opened, round pupil twitching and staring. slowly, birdie stood up, eyeing the larger
creature with caution as she hummed loudly, the ground vibrating with the noise. she fluffed up her
feathers to make herself look bigger, staring down her thick snout at the spinosaurus. her tail stiffened
as she pawed the ground- birdie would defend her home.

The strange creatures didn't seem to be causing any harm or even moving, so Taika walked slightly closer to them to see if there was anything special about them. She jumped on top of one of them, tapping it with a claw to see if something would happen. Nothing. She looked at where the other creatures were, and hey- what's this? Where did these strange dinosaurs come from? Did they come from the unknown shiny creatures?

Taylor looked towards Tera as she sneaked."Oh yeah! I'm fine, just a little shaken up." She replied, he eyes glimmering with delight as she replayed the moment. Had she actually seen a dinosaur? She never thought this could be a real moment, going back to her childhood days, fantasizing that dinosaurs hadn't gone "extinct". But now, she almost got eaten by a t-rex! "Oh yeah, there's another little guy beh-" She was interupted abruptly by a loud bang on the jeep. Another therapod? Taylor predicted.

Gus Gus watched another pale two legged thing walk in front of him. He strained his neck to see behind the creature, it seemed like they were communicating. Somehow.. His thoughts were stopped as a feathered smaller therapod jumped on top of the boxy shiny thing. Gus Gus heart skipped a beat, retreating into the plains, running as fast as his little legs would take him. Maybe today would be a good day to sunbathe on the rocks instead.

Kivo heard lots of little bangs and chirps. She started to walk slowly into the parts with all the commotion. As they walked farther, redwood trees started to pop up, making Kivo seem small and vulnerable. She looked over to Po, who had hunched over, his eyes darting to all of the things happening around them. Unknown clicks, chirps, birds, and bangs. Kivo hissed silently, hoping it wasn't a tyrannosaurus playing around with something. Or worse, an unknown dangerous creature coming towards them.
Eventually, the tall red trees came into a small path, the path filled with a box like structure with a.. utahraptor on top of it? Then next to it, a pink straight creature with it's small indented mouth moving. Kivo pulled her head back behind a tree, then looked over to Po, very confused.

Po looked to kivo, confused as well. He fidgeted with his hooked claw, digging it into the soft dirt. All Po knew, is that he just had a meal, walked to unknown noises and smells, and found nothing very dangerous, but rather interesting. He wanted to investigate, but decided to wait for Kivo's command, as Kivo was rather smarter than him and stronger. So she would protect him if anything happened, but he would try and protect her as well. So he waited, fidgeting and wanting to go back into the cave..

Taika kept tapping on the unknown shiny thing with a claw, still trying to figure out what this was. She kept her eyes on the strange other creatures that were walking around, looking them over. She was about the same size as them...but she didn't know what they could do, so it was probably best not to engage them in battle just yet. She would figure out what these shiny things are, what the strange dinosaurs are doing, and then decide what to do next. For now, she stayed where she was.

ema's heart skipped a beat as the raptor hopped up onto the jeep, its sickle-shaped claws a threat in themselves. the animal's eyes followed her fellow squad members, head jerking much like a chicken's, fiery irises reflecting the dusky light.

she had to admit, it was a beautiful animal. but it was dangerous, and she couldn't decide whether it was curious or hungry. who knows if it might try and see where humans fit on the food chain?

quietly, she slipped her rifle out of the window. it would be an awkward shot, but she hoped she wouldn't have to take it.

"you know which one this is?" she asked the other women, scope trained on the mottled scales of the beast's ribs.

the long-necked dinosaur cocked his head, observing every little movement the upright beasts made. they surely had a passion for shiny things, he noticed; the one still inside the larger, green-and-gray rock stuck a long, silver rod of a hole in the side, focusing it on the utahraptor tapping on the smaller rock. the struthiomimus deduced that those rocks were very valuable to the multicolor creatures, because they seemed rather upset about the one in front being crushed.

he would love to get a closer look. if only that raptor would leave...

nictitating membranes flicked forward on black eyes, barely visible against the dark skin. the tyrannosaur's nostrils flared as it took in the mysterious odors, an offending amalgamation of other theropods, prey animals, and something totally unknown. it almost resembled blood, but was somehow tangier, managing to burn her nose. a rumble resonated in her throat. new scents meant new threats, and she already had enough of those for a lifetime.

she stalked through the brush, not interested enough to investigate. for now, her greatest worry was food -- she hadn't had a decent meal for three days, instead living on tar-slathered scraps found deep in the redwoods.

she snorted at her bad luck. there were certainly perks to having her own piece of territory, but defending it would be hellish. maybe once she found another --

as she got closer, she detected something familiar. another of her kind, female, tinged with blood and the horrible scent of that new creature. she lifted her head, inhaling deeply. the smell of raptors was strong here, as though they were right below her...

she couldn't see them. she lowered her head to the brush, snorting. by the time i find them, she thought angrily, they'll be gone!

Taika watched the strange creatures push a rod out of the side of their intact shiny thing, and had no idea what it was for. She did have a strange feeling that it was dangerous- she had good instincts, and she usually listened to them. She hopped off the shiny thing, eyes still trained on the other creatures, and went back into the trees. This wasn't her territory; she didn't need to worry about this yet-or at all. She stayed watching them from the safety of the trees, however, and hissed at a struthiomimus that she saw kind of close.
