[Fortune's Fool]

The comm crackled back to life suddenly, Virus' voice just barely loud enough to be heard. It was fairly obvious he was being was quiet as possible. "It's already back in the vents, Kuvira. Section 2-F." There was a scrape of metal and then silence for a moment, before his voice came over the comms once more. "Kuvira, I need you to check with the captain - has anyone on board stopped leaving their room who wasn't a recluse to begin with?"

Sanya put an ear to Twig and Zen's door. Nothing. She carefully opened the door and saw the room in ruin. The vent had been ripped open, probably from when Zen and Sanya had escaped the room. "Oh my god," Sanya stepped back. She closed the door and ran back to the control room. "It ripped open the vent in Zen and Twig's room," Sanya said to Kuvira, "I don't know if this thing can do that to anything else but we should take some precaution."

Zen and Twig remained very silent, wishing that this creature that is torturing the vents didn't exist. Twig kept thinking of possible theories on how a creature got in. Maybe it was an alien that somehow got in. Maybe a distorted animal. All she knew is that, if it was even nice in its life, it had lost its niceness.

Sanya turned to Zen and Twig, "Are you two okay?" She gave them a worried look, "I'm sorry you two got dragged into this. This should have just been between the engineers and myself. Nothing like this should have happened to you. I promise you two, we'll get this taken care of. It will be done with before you know it."

Zen and Twig nodded. Twig presented one of her ideas on what the creature be and how it got in, saying, "I really don't blame anyone, but what if there's a vent that connects completely outside of the ship? The creature might be an alien, and if there is anything that is connected to vents outside, then the alien must of climbed in if anything out there was opened. And then it must've gotten trapped. Maybe its confused or something."

"I think there may be one vent that leads outside," Sanya stated, "It's in the airlock. Usually it's used to take the air out to allow space walkers to get used to having no oxogen. Then there's one vent that leads into the ship. The only one who can really check in the airlock if there's no oxogen would be myself or Rose." Sanya's brow furrowed, "I think I may go do that after I repair my leg. Stay here." Sanya exited the control room and went to her quarters. She took tools and attempted to fix the joint on her right leg.

Zen and Twig stood still, looking at each other every once and a while. They weren't sure on what to do. Zen laid down, tired of how this day was playing out. Meanwhile Twig was chasing her own tail, using sound vibrations to catch it. Zen looked around to see if there were any vents around them.

"Sorry to interrupt captain," Virus' quiet voice reached Sanya through the comms, "but I've been listening in - I've been keeping an eye on the thing, and at the very least, it's body appears to have originated from Earth. Can't quite put my paw on the species - maybe experimented on. I can't say much for its mind, 'rabid' isn't the right word, but it certainly seems to be running mostly on instinct." A small pause. "Whether it's a sick stowaway, or an official member that was infected with... something, I don't know. Maybe some kind of parasite or bacteria?" Again he paused, this time to shift where he was crouched in the vents. "As you've seen, locking down the vents isn't going to stop it, though."

Sanya jumped and scratched her leg with one of her tools, scrapping off a little rust to reveal the shiny silver metal underneath. "You frightened me," Sanya whispered into her comm. "I'm going to need you to give me a description of this thing if you can. Either that or find some way to catch it, please."

"Startling you wasn't my intention, sorry," he murmured, "it just took me a while to connect to anyone who wasn't Kuvira - I don't usually have a direct line to the captain so I had to adjust my comm on the fly." His tail twitched. "That's going to be difficult, captain. It can fit in the vents, but it's still got a dangerous size advantage on me. Medium length fur- looks like it might have stripes? - quadrupedal, bob-tailed." He hesitated, "theoretically I could knock it out with my powers, but electricity is a hard thing to keep under control once unleashed, captain. I may knock it out, or I may stop it's heart."
