A loud bang wakes you up from your slumber, causing you to jump from your bed in alarm as your eyes widened in alarm. You slept in again. Lucky for you, however, your crewmate woke you up before your stone-cold captain did. You jump out of your bed, get dressed, and begin cleaning the deck.
It's been around a month now since you've abandoned your life as a poorly paid sailor to the adventurous life of a pirate. Life as a pirate was more frightening than what you were used to as a sailor, but the earnings were equal and life on a pirate ship was far more exciting than before.
As you look across the ocean, you spot another ship in the distance. In alarm, you drop your mop and run towards your captain calling out for them. "Captain!" You cry. "There's an enemy ship headed your way!"
"I see em," They respond as they narrow their eyes, turning the ship towards them. "Man the cannons!" They shout as the crew scrambles to their positions, shouting commands and swears to each other. Among the chaos, you stand in fear and alarm. You haven't been in a battle among an enemy pirate ship before. What do you do? Are you going to have to fight? "Recruit!" Your captain shouts. "Get your lazy rear below deck and help the gunners!" You obediently nod as you turn and scurry down the steps.
You yelp as you feel a loud crash hit the ship, sending pieces of wood flying into the air. You gasp as you see the enemy ship sailing closer and closer. Your captain anchors the ship and leaps beside you. "Everyone, grab your weapons!" They announced. You gulp as you reluctantly reach for your sword. Your fellow pirates stand beside you, snarling and lusting for blood and loot. Now was time to prove if you are meant to truly be a pirate.
