Soulshard was laying down on a flat rock somewhere in the camp, watching everyone go about their business. He yawned lightly and shook his head as his split tail wrapped around to his front paws when he sat down. 'Seems that the pack is running smoothly' He sighed a bit and stood up, walking slowly through the camp, figuring he would just patrol the camp's borders for a little bit until he decided what to do. Grumbling to himself and looking around for his sister to keep an eye on her from a distance.

Frostbite had been walking around camp and humming to herself quietly, she headed over to the prey pile and sniffed it for a moment before huffing and looking around at the camp before darting out of camp to get away and hunt some rabbits on her own. On her way out, she spotted Soulshard looking out at the pack.. probably searching for her no doubt. She shook her head and sniffed the air before walking off into the forest to hunt for some fresh prey on her own.

The brute sat, his large body soaking in the sun, he enjoyed his black pelt, and hated it, for that reason.

Alexxa watched as her family arrived right behind her and she picked a spot to sit down, with the rest of the pack. She was happy to be sparring today, everyone needed it, it would help everyone with all this tension in the air. Her ears flicked towards the sounds of paws running up to the arena, she figured it was the alpha's heir on their way, they were very late, which was uncharacteristic of the two of them.

Calla let out an irritated grown, she had stayed back with her parents and both of them had run off. She spotted Fenrir right away once she was officially in the Arena, he looked busy and she frowned. She padded over to a spot where the guards usually went to, near Fenrir and Runa, and sat herself down. She casually waited for the instructions.

Seating himself down slightly behind the leader, Kosma took a small glance at the 2 Artemis hunters, Narin and Nyx, though he realized the latter was most likely observing him, rather than Narin, who seemed to be updating the alpha with news of recent events. Trying to distract himself from his overthinking, he tried to instead listen on what Narin was saying, which at first didn't seem to bad... oh. Almost instinctively, he glanced around, trying to scan the environment and all the tiny details, taking full note of the silence left behind from the absence of birds, though he tried to keep a calm composure to not worry anyone.

"Thanatos, if you like to give the starting signal" Cassia said, taking a sincere nod after what he said, while her abilities were mostly passive, she did have her fair share of strengths in case one of the wolves here took it too far. The sight of her ears falling down was easy to recognize as Eerika being slightly disappointing that they had to wait, though the question from Alek had caused her to tilt her head instead, a curious expression replacing her disappointing one. She stated, watching as Ashoka had flown up to go find the other hunter, "And I'll assume you don't need my help finding her" Eerika shifted slightly as she said that, in an attempt to fold her wings into a more comfortable position.

Most other wolves had sat closer to the less scarier looking wolves, despite how many times Lucius has stated he really wasn't that scary, Well nothing left to do but wait I guess...

Eyes narrowing the female let out a rumbling growl, I don't like this. The forest is too quiet. She could feel Kamaria grinning inside her. "I can hear them breathing, sister." It was then when the forest became silent, that a small group of hellhounds appeared, there were seven of them. Though there was one in the back, the eighth was the largest and it seemed to be commanding the others. "They've come for you, sister." Katyina swiftly got to her paws snarling," Hellhounds!" It might not have been a good idea but the female quickly shifted into her battle form, without a second thought. Letting out a roar, Kat rushed the closest hellhound.

The male glanced at the leads, his ears twitching. Who would they pick? Would they pick who went up against who? Or would they just let us chose? Hearing a faint roar, Konrad shivered. The last time he had heard a roar like that was when Katyina's in her battle form. That was not good, that didn't happen a lot any more. But he knew that his alpha could handle it, and if not she would find away to let them know. Besides Kosma and a couple of Artemis's hunters were with her, there was nothing to worry about. Right?

She had little time to react, the hellhounds had seemed to come out of no where. The dread and excitement took hold of her body, causing the female to let out a howl. A call to battle for the Artemis's hunters, and something Narin had always done at the beginning of each hunt. Like her alpha, Narin rushed to the closest opponent, snarling and teeth bared. She grappled with one Hellhound, finding it hard to dig her teeth into the hard scales of the hellhounds throat. Though it seemed to have no trouble to dig it's claws into her flanks.

The male nearly tripped on his way into the arena, like most of Katyina's pups he was very aware of when his mother used her battle form. Even with-out the faint roar, he knew what was happening. Ashoka heard as Katyina switched over into her battle form by the roar that echoed throughout the air. She was glad that the extinction area was a while off and the only wolves likely to notice would be Katyina's kin. She decided that they could handle themselves and she needed to find frostbite. She quickly spotted the wolf and landed near her. "Come on. Back to camp." Was all she said, her eyes never staying anywhere for a moment. They needed to get back and fast.

He should have seen this coming, yet he had hoped that this wouldn't happen yet. Kosma immediately turned his attention towards the group of 7 hellhounds, though he swore that there was an 8th one in the back. All instincts pulled him to rush the closest hellhound with Kat and Narin, yet he paused for just a moment to glance around at all the other hellhounds. Though instead to let his instincts take over as he charged in to help the others, his instincts were almost right anyway, he was an awfully fast thinker.

Frostbite had made her way out to the forest and was hunting down some prey until Ashoka had come running at her and scaring away her catch. She had lowered her ears and almost made a bad mistake of growling once she realized it was the beta. Her head lowered in respect for a moment until she was told to head back to camp. She nodded without question and turned to dart back to camp. "I'll get my brother!" She had yelped back at the beta when she ran off. Once She was at camp she was calling for soulshard.

Once he was out there, he searched around and tried to find the source of the problem or even the beta.

With an extreme amount of strength Katyina swift snapped the next of her first opponent, snarling dangerously at the others that dared come her way. It seemed this caused some of the hounds to gang up on her, One grabbed her tail while two others grabbed a hold of either shoulder. While a fourth stalked forward, as if waiting for her to plead for mercy.So this is what Thanatos meant. Koen's warning is ringing true. She though with a mixture of anger and sadness. Letting out another snarl she lunged forward and latching onto the hounds neck, her teeth digging into it's softer neck scales.

Pausing the creamy-golden she-wolf called out," Aim for the neck and belly! Their scales aren't as thick there, and much softer." She didn't know why it was that way, but it was so she wasn't going to question it. Finally Narin was able to break through the Hellhounds neck scales, and clamped down on it's windpipe, suffocating the beast. She had no mercy for such a mindless creature, they had no mercy for her or her pack, so the favor would be returned.

realizing that Cassia and a few others had heard his mothers roar, he stepped over to the group of leads and clearly stated," It'll be fine Ma'am. Alpha is with two Artemis hunters and a gamma, should they need help we'll know. That was simply a battle cry." He shrugged, pulling off the calm and unaffected look, even though a mixture of fear and dread where gathering in his gut. Fear for the safety of his mother, an dread that this was only the beginning.

Thanatos was in the middle of telling everyone that they would be assigned to a partner when he heard it. His ear twitched and froze, listening closer. That was when Kiana, or Kiara ran past. He snarled that she hadn't just stayed put like she should have, he looked around, realizing the rest of the wolves were all in a panic, "everyone stay put." He used his 'I'm in charge voice' and looked around at everyone, "Konrad, I need you to take flight, tell me what you see, we will go from there." He knew wolves were very on edge, "rest easy, stay put, stay on guard."

She licked his muzzle, wishing him well and to return safely to the ground, who knew what was out there.

Calla had jumped up at the snarl. She could barely hear it as they were fairly far from camp. She turned all of her fur to diamond in an instant, but returned it to its natural state at Thanatos' command. Calla nodded to her leader, following his order, and then looked at her father. Hoping he would see her weak smile of well wishes before taking off to the sky.

Nxy's fur stood on end at the site of the hellhounds, she let out a vicious snarl and charged in along side Katyina and Narin. Instead going for the second closest. This one had spines, she leapt into the air and barreled into the hound. Nyx knocked it off balance and made is snarl, she continued her attack and grabbed its paw, pulling it out from underneath the hound and twisted it. She heard the sound of the bones snapping and the Hellhound's spiked tail impaled her side. She let out a gruesome snarl and tore into the hellhound's neck, eventually finding its windpipe and clamping down.

Kiana growled, "b-but.. what if..." her voice faded as Rikiar ran off. She snarled to herself, let me out Ki, they're here and you know it. Kiara was pacing back and forth and Kiana was itching to let her out and take over. Her mother's battle cry was almost like a call to Kiara, like a trigger, wanting the other battle form to help. Kiana stopped, she didn't know what to do, run over there, ignore her brother, aid in the hunter's, alpha, and gamma? She shook her head, "sorry Rik." Was the last thing she said before the shift took over and she sprinted past her brother, "you all stay here" Kiara snarled before letting out her own battle cry.
