A Dire Need - Wolf rp - Delta and Mid ranks open

Century's in the past something changed or well in this case didn't change. The ice age didn't end. Man died out as is everything else. Everything other than the Dire wolves are either dying out or changing. They remain the same, in a way. In all truth they've grown bigger, a lot bigger. The Dire wolves and Grey wolves formed packs to survive and bred a new and stronger species. Hundreds of years later only a few packs remain. The one that is whispered is called, the Ancient Pack.

This pack has the strongest Dire wolf bloodlines, and are feared for it as to Grey wolves and most of the new Species a Dire wolf is considered a mindless beast. A monster. Will you prove them Right? Will you prove them Wrong? Lets fine out.

Rp Rules and Pack Rules

Postby Zarina » Fri Feb 09, 2018 4:01 am

Rp rules: Don't break these! it's bad form.

- All CS rules apply
- Please use proper Grammar and spelling, at least to the best of your ability. That means no text talk.
- One High rank per person, Unless you gain one through rp
- Please write at least three sentences, I don't expect a paragraph or two, but please be semi-literate.
- Reserves will last a week to the day. If you don't post within that time, the rank will be opened up again.
- Please try to post once a week, pm me or post on the discussion thread if you can not.
- If you don't post within a week, your character will either lower in rank, or will be killed off. if you have a reason you can make a new character, but you will get a strike.
-please do not fatally wound or kill another rpers character with-out permission.
- Fade to black when needed
- Only create as many Characters as you can handle
- Keep OOC and Forms on the discussion thread
- Try to keep genders even, if you make a female make a male
- No wolf over 90% will not be accepted, as a wolf over 90% is considered a full dire wolf
- 90% dire's are rare, there will be no more that six, three male and three females. this does not include NPCs
- Pm me if you suggestions, or Questions. I will address it if needed
-get three strikes, and you will be banned.
- Have fun everyone, please.

Pack rules: you can break these
- Alphas word is law
- Respect your alphas
- The border is to be checked once a day at least
- High ranks + Den mothers and pups eat first then Mid ranks, then normal and lastly lower rankers.
- Pups are confined to camp
- Pups will begin training at six months of age
- At the age of a year and a half will be accepted as a full member of the pack and (hopefully) fully trained in their rank
- Wolves may begin searching and courting a mate at the age of 3 years
- Loners are welcome to join as long as they not aggressive.
- Any aggressive loners are to be chased out, if they are seen again they are to be killed on sight.
- A pack wolf is not to mate with a loner, if a mating does occur and pups are produced, the pack member may be exiled - without the pups- or if the pack member wish's to stay all but one pup is to be killed.( Dear lord. That's harsh.)

The Territory

Postby Zarina » Fri Feb 09, 2018 4:42 am

Camp -
The Territory is made up of mostly Snowy forests year round, only in summer does the snow melt and give way to green grass. In the center of out territory is camp, Where there is a den for each rank. The higher the rank -aside from the nursery- the farther away you sleep from the camps entrance. Next to the Alphas den, there is a large boulder where The alpha(s) hold meeting at. The prey pile is to the left of this boulder.

The Hunting Grounds-
Like said before the forest is mostly covered in about a foot of snow, blizzards are common but don't really deter this new species much. While in the forest you can find snow-shoe hares, Jackrabbits, sometimes a few deer or even the rare moose. Most of the hunting takes place in the meadow, where most creatures roam. There's not a lot of snow here, normally a few inches as most of it has been misplaced one way or another. Here you can find Elk, Deer, Hares, rodents and birds.

The Lake -
The lake is a romantic place to take your mate to, and like the forest frozen over nearly year round. Though once summer hits and the ice melts, it's fishing time! As there is a river leading out of this lake to the ocean we get many types of Fish here. Including Salmon, Trout, Pike, Frogs, Toads, Bass, and Carp.

The Training Area -
Like the hunting grounds, this is a meadow not far from the southern border. The snow here is hard packed, normally at least a little dirty, and from time to time spotted with blood. In the summer time, the grass is a vibrant green, and spots of soft moss to provide excellent padding. Because it's so close to the Southern border, there have been a few saber sighting, so young wolves are not allowed to go there without one fully trained fighter or guard with them.

The borders -
The northern border is by the lake, a few yards behind the lake and the border is a river. The border to the south holds a vast plain, filled with various herbs, though beware sabers and other predators lurk here. Beyond the western border there is a mountain range, that's covered in snow year round. Beyond the eastern border is a thick forest, left untouched by most predators.

Bloodlines Percentiles- Please Read

Postby Zarina » Fri Feb 09, 2018 4:52 am

When talking about bloodline percentiles we're talking about just how much dire wolf blood is in your character. This will dictate how big your character can get. Those born into the Dire pack normally have Bloodlines at 90 to 60%, Those with only one parent from this pack will likely have a 60 to 40%. Loners or wolves from other pack will be in the 59 to below range.

90-80:
Males; 4'4ft to 5ft, at the shoulder
females; 4'3ft to 4'9ft at the shoulder

79-60:
Males; 3'8ft to 4'3ft at the shoulder
Females; 3'7 to 4'2ft at the shoulder

59-40:
Males; 3'2ft to 3'7ft at the shoulder
Females; 3'1ft to 3'6ft at the shoulder

39-below:
Both; 2'6ft to 2'9ft at the shoulder

Rank Descriptions

Postby Zarina » Fri Feb 09, 2018 6:32 pm

Alpha's: The leaders of the pack, normally born from the last alpha pair unless the alphas are challenged. When the alphas pups turn three, the alpha's will chose which pup will take over as alpha when they retire. The chosen pup is given a year of extra training, and then when said pup is four years old, the current alphas retire, and the new alpha takes his/her place. If the alpha's have no pups, then either the beta's will become alphas, or the alphas may chose to train a wolf to take over for them. - A mated pair-

Betas: These wolves are second in command, they help make decisions with-in the pack. Normally are also born from the last beta's unless the Beta's are challenged. When it comes to the next Beta, its the same as the alphas. - A mated pair-

Deltas: These wolves have two main jobs, they are to help train the Hunters and Scouts in training and are peacemakers. A Delta heir is a bit different from the beta and Alpha heirs. While the Delta Heir is normally a child of the Deltas, but if the deltas can not agree or don't think any of their pups could make a good delta, they can chose from the Scouts and Hunters and their leads as their heir. - A mated pair-

Gamma's: Like the Deltas these wolves have two main jobs, peacemaking and helping train the Fighters and guards. Gamma Heir is like the Delta heir. - a mated pair-

Elders: These wolves are retired, too old to continue working or because of a injury, ie Blindness.

Lead Guards: These wolves work with the lead fighters to organize border patrols. These are the strongest Guards within the pack, and normally will accompany the alpha's and beta's when talking with other packs. - this rank can be challenged for-

Lead Hunters: These wolves work with the Lead scouts to organize hunting patrols. These two are the best hunters within the pack. -This rank can be challenged for-

Lead Fighters: These wolves work with the Lead Guards to organize border patrols. These two are the strongest fighters within the pack, and will help lead the pack into battle along side the alphas. - Can be challenged for.-

Lead Scouts: These wolves work with the lead hunters to organize hunting patrols. These two are the fastest scouts within the pack, and like all scouts double as messengers between packs at times. - can be challenged for.-

Lead Healers: These wolves are the best healers with-in the pack and are normally the wisest and oldest. They alone train the other healers, and are responsible for the higher ranking wolves health.

Guards: wolves with this rank are large and very observant. They have to be. Guards work with Fighters on border patrols. Guards have four main jobs, they guard the territory, they guard the camp, they also guard any prisoners and expectant mothers.

Hunters: These wolves are leaner than most wolves, but also muscular built for speed and stamina. Hunters will go out on a solo hunt most of the time, or when a pack hunt comes, they will set out in groups of five or more to hunt larger prey like elk, deer and moose.

Fighters: These wolves are large like guards and normally have a lot of stamina like hunters. These wolves work with guards on border patrols. When the pack is at war or just going to battle they are the front line, the protectors of the pack.

Scouts: These wolves are normally smaller wolves, lean and stocky. Built for speed and stamina. They are some of the fastest wolves in the pack, and help the hunters keep track of prey when out hunting. These wolves will also from time to time deliver messages to and from other packs.

Healers: There are a couple reasons that a wolf would become a healer. Most are because they have no talent in other ranks, or because they're more peaceful than others. Either way these are fully trained healers, and normally not as well muscled as others. Though they are required to know how to defend them-selves.

Trainees: These wolves are in training, and are six months till about a year and a half old depending on what rank their training to be. Healers tend to be about two years old before they finish their training.

Den mothers: These are pregnant or nursing wolves. About week to half a month into pregnancy a wolf will join the other den mothers -if there are any- leaving their old rank, until their pups are born. Once the pups are about four months old the den mother may begin to slowly start going back to their old rank.

pups: These are wolves younger than six months, and don't really have any jobs. I mean besides playing and keeping inside camp.

Omegas: These wolves are the weakest in the pack, or have just joined and not yet trusted. These wolves have many jobs, like from looking after the pups, cleaning out the dens. From time to time other wolves will take their aggression out on these wolves, while there is no rule against it, it is frowned on.

Prisoners: These wolves are either aggressive loners that have been taken captive for one reason or another or they can be a captive from another pack. Those from another pack will normally be ransomed back or offered to join the pack if the wolf has skills that the pack want/need.

Loners: These are wolves outside the pack. Either they were born that way, left their birth pack or where exiled. If found on the territory any loners are given two choices join, or leave and never return. If the loner join, they are to start out as omegas until they can be trusted or prove them-selves loyal. If the loner choses to leave, and come back they'll be met with aggression and either escorted off the territory, or killed. If a loner is aggressive then they'll be met with aggression, no matter if its the first or second time meeting the pack. The first time a patrol meets an aggressive loner, they'll chase the wolf out making sure to leave a few bites. If the loner returns they are depending on the orders, killed or taken prisoner.

Re: A Dire Need - Wolf rp - Accepting and Open

Bayek
5y - Alpha - Male - Location: Camp - Tags: Open

The male shifted his body as he awoke, and yawned. Peering out of his den he realized that it was dawn, and frowned. With a shake of his head the male stood up and began to stretch before padding out of his den. "Well, no early morning run for me. Everyone should be waking up soon, or already awake." He muttered under his breath. He glanced around camp noting that the prey pile was rather low, as there were only a three of hares, a pheasant, and two moles. His decision was instantaneous, and the large brute began to leave camp to go hunting.

Senu
5y - Lead Guard - Female - Location: Camp - Tags: Open

A soft whine left her throat as she awoke, a little annoyed that her dream had been interrupted. And I had almost beaten that old brute too! She stifled a chuckle, then padded out of the guards den after shaking out her coat. Senu paused as she watched her brother, frowning slightly when he began to leave camp, wondering why he was apparently back so early and leaving once more. But the question died in her throat when she looked at the prey pile. I swear, I think he's crazy some times. Getting back for his morning run, and still going back out when the piles low. But I guess I understand. The lass sighed then quickly darted over to the prey pile to take one of the moles.

Konrad
1y - Fighter-in-training - Male - Location: Camp - Tags: Karlee, Open

The young fighter-in-training had woken up early today and decided to leave the cold omegas den that is mother slept in and hurry into the den where all the fighters in training slept. While there was no rule against sleeping in the omegas den, many times had his mother found him sleeping next to her and ended up giving him the silent treatment for about half of the day. Once back in the den where the fighters-in-training, he pretended to sleep for a while longer until he heard Bayek getting up. Once he had exited the correct den, he made his way back to his mothers den and smiled. " Morning, mum."

Karlee
4y - Omega - Female - Location: Camp - Tags: Konrad, open

Karlee had awoken just moments after Konrad had left, she glanced around the den and frowned. Despite it being naturally colder here than the other dens, she was rather warm. Her eyes narrowed, but shook her head and began to stand. The russet-brown she-wolf shook out her coat, then laid back down to begin grooming her matted fur. After a while Konrad padded into the den, causing the lass to smile. "Good morning, Kon. Have anything to eat yet?"

Re: A Dire Need - Wolf rp - Accepting and Open

Postby Dracowolf » Tue Feb 13, 2018 11:09 am

Dereth
Beta Male - Location: Camp - Tag: Open

Dereth wasn't going to lie, at least not to himself, he wanted to stay in his den as the morning approached. Sure, he had an important job and he loved his job but in those first waking moments, the thought of lying there and drifting back off in the warmth of den, it was always tempting. He had to keep reminding himself he couldn't until finally, he stood up and slowly made his way out. He yawned with a quick stretch of his stiff muscles, before looking around the camp. Seeing things were pretty well normal he decided not to concern himself too much with anything going on, at least not yet. He'd look into getting patrols put together once everyone shook off the first few moments of the morning.

Odin
Lead Male Fighter - Location: Camp - Tags: Open

It was unmistakable when Odin left the den, even if he wasn't the largest wolf in the pack he still had a unmistakable presence. His attention turned towards the fresh kill pile first, not exactly please with the amount there. His stomach grumbled softly, but for now he ignored it, he'd certainly get his share later after plans were made. With such a low pile it was only a matter of time before a patrol was put together to hunt, and that gave Odin an idea. He'd need to speak to the guards first but there was no reason they couldn't escort the hunters and then head to check the boarders, it provided better security after all. Not that he believed there was a reason they'd need it. He just figured it was a good learning opportunity for everyone, the need to watch out for your packmates when there could be danger. After all, he had to give the best training he could to those still learning to be fighters.

Tally
Guard - Female - Location: Outside of Camp - Tags: Open

Tally had been up just before dawn, when the light was only starting to come back to the world. Despite her white fur she had sat in the dark among the trees outside of camp, keeping a careful watch over things. Really, if she wanted to stay completely unnoticed she wouldn't be the shaded areas. She hadn't been there all night thankfully, she had just slipped out as she often did. She always enjoyed the early hours when they were filled with quiet before everything erupted into another day. She watched as Bayek left, but didn't say anything about it, she wasn't about to question whatever the alpha wanted to do, that would just draw unwanted attention. She was certain there were those who would of told her she should follow him, but that seemed ridiculous, if Bayek couldn't watch his own back then he shouldn't be alpha, simple as that. She preferred to watch for actual threats rather than pretend ones.

Nova
Healer - Female - Location: Camp - Tags: Open

Nova did her best to make herself small, as she did every night but as always it was near impossible for her. Sure, the dens had been made for those of larger size but she always felt she was taking up more room than she should have. Once one of her legs kicked out, by complete accident of course, and hit some herbs she woke up. She cursed in her head as she thought about how she really had to sleep further away from any herb piles. Of course she thought this so often that the scents were pretty well always clinging to her, so probably too late to fix that habit. She left the healer's den and stretched, looking for some out of the way spot where she could sit and try to wake up. Really, a wolf of her size should eat but she always waited after waking up, always giving others the chance to eat.
