Lily loocked at him a grin spread on her features, "Pack wolf! Ha! I´m Lily and i live in this packs territory alothough i´m a loner whats you name?" she asked lightly nudging the pup and herself out of the packs territory, she didn´t want the pup to face the concequences of being on this packs territory, "I suggest you stay out of there though, i´m to big for any of those scrawny wolves to get anyways." she joked with a laugh.

Mallory flinched when she grinned, but left out a sigh of relief when she said she wasn't a pack wolf. That still didn't mean she wasn't capable of hurting him though. He felt her nudge him out of the territory, and was thankful he didn't have to worry about trespassing. "M-my name is M-Mallory, but y-you can call me Mall" He stammered, still trying to calm his racing heart. Despite the fact that he was still scared, he looked up at her with curiosity. "W-why are you a loner?"

Lily looked at him considering his question, "Why am i a loner? I am a loner because i don´t want to live in any hostile packs that mistreat wolves." she said looking at Mallory, her ears twitched and she thumped her tail on the ground, sniffing the air slightly smelling pak wolves but the sounded far off, so she ignored it.

Awe entered his eyes. He decided then he wanted to be like her, free from any pain that comes with being in a pack. His tiny tail wagged, though slowly. Suddenly, he remembered he didn't have anywhere to go. Mallory looked up at Lily, "W-well I have to go, but t-thank you for sparing me." he barked, turning tail to trot off. He'd rather not stay for too long, but at least he was her acquaintance. If he ever needed help again if he lived and got older, then he'd know where to go.

Lily trotted after him, "Look Mallory, i am not going to just leave you out here to die." she said trying to sound soft and kind, "I´m coming with you." she stated simply trotting after Mallory silently and swiftly.

Mallory looked up in shock at Lily. "W-why? Y-you gain nothing. I-i'm telling you now, I'm p-powerless." Though he was grateful to the wolf, he still didn't know them well. Mall didn't want a friend that was just using him, so when the times comes and if he trusted her, he would tell her about his powers. One part of him said to not get to close to her, but he was still young and trusting. Right now, Lily was the closest thing to a friend or any companion he's had in a while. Even back in his old pack, no one was his friend. Mallory's stomach rumbled loudly, and he grew embarrassed.

Lily stopped dead in her tracks, "It doesn´t matter what i gain." she said, "I lost my brother because of that." she growled, "And never again will i let that happen to another wolf." she promised trotting along again.

Mallory blinked when she said that, guilt filled his heart up to the brim and he whimpered. "I-i'm sorry. I'm j-just used to other w-wolves using each other." he whispered and looked back up at her. "But we c-can both forget about t-the past now, and continue forward." He said a little bit more happy. Since she was so big, he had to move a little faster than normal to catch up, which was quickly draining him. "H-hey, if you don't mind, I was wondering if we could rest?"

She gave him a side long glance as they were walking. "That won't be necessary, though I'll keep your offer in mind." Veratrum flashed him a grin as they walked then turned back to focus on the trail. It felt good, natural, to be out with another fighter like old times. "I was thinking the same thing, it bothers me that someone could have gotten by our patrols, I'll be changing around rotations when we get back to camp, just to stay on the safe side." Her paced slowed as they came to the place were they had first scented the loners. It was still there, but faint. Veratrum's tail wagged slightly with annoyance, it wasn't much to go on.

He listened to her words and nodded, "That's very noble of you." He said, thinking about her devotion to pups, his reasoning hadn't been half as chivalrous. The grey wolf took a deep breath, his thick fur glowing softly. Slowly his eyes started to close sleepily from the peaceful afternoon.

She smirked, this wolf didn't seem to be fazed by her, but at least she had gotten his attention. "Well that is certainly a very round about way of saying it. I have been looking for this place for a while now." She pointed her head towards the forest, "Of a place were the wolves possessed great powers, wanted to see for myself if it was true." Fain tilted her head to the side curiously, studying him. "I don't want to commit to a pack I don't know, but I am in the market to finding one."

Lily stopped, "Sure we can rest here if you´d like." she said sitting down. She started grooming her long pelt, she didn´t even know how she kept up with it. She sighed at the thought of her brother, Why had i been so arrogan?!?, she thought growling at herself, she hoped it didn´t alarm Mallory.
