I looked up to her "Not eat them, silly! we follow them to restaurants!" I sway my tail, and my eyes flickered with humor. "we only eat them if we're desperate..and i dont think many are. Most dogs can keep in good shape with the dump around here." I helped lead her to a few layers of box's bottoms and baskets to hold the food. "Plus, rats aren't always that infested of germs." I say, a bit tomboy-ishly. I ain't all that afraid of touching some sewer demon. I laugh.

Zipper strode across the streets, sniffing for food along the way. Zipper had seen some trashcans earlier, but avoided them since they were close to places like restaurants and butchers. She continued to walk farther until she had caught some sort of scent. As she followed it, she found a small trash can with some food nearby on the ground. Zipper didn't think and started to eat. Chewing, she had soon noticed an entrance of some sort.

"Maria would have a fit if she had to eat rats." she said softly, gently setting the food down. Mary laid down close to Henry and Maria. Her belly was sore and she was getting close to having her pups. Henry woke up as he smelled the raw meat. He almost drooled as he walked over to it. "S-shall I divide it up?" he asked, looking to their leader. Maria woke up and got up, waddling to the food pile. She was just as big and swollen as her sister.

"guys, im not really your leader, just..a main friend that acts as one."I inform them. I turn, and happily held a gaze at Henry "go ahead, imma run out and get some more" run out, going to look for some food myself.
I saw a stray, the same small one again, digging through the trash. I walk up and smile "sup, whatch ya' doin'?" I ask, friendly.

"Oh..." said Henry quietly, "Well, you can be if you want!" He watched the shepherd dog run off, then he divided the meat up into portions. He took the least amount of food, so the females could eat more. Maria took her share and scarfed it down. She flicked her tail as she finished eating. "She sure is active..." murmured Maria, sitting down.

Zipper had looked up from the pile of trash and food she had scavenged for, and saw the same bigger dog from earlier before. She heard her question and had answered in a somewhat nonchalant, but truthful voice. "Not much," Zipper responded, "Just searching for food." The tiny Husky mix had never been good at starting or holding a conversation, so she felt that if the conversation had escalated further, she would have to wing it.

I chuckled, and looked down "hm, nice find. mind if i help you out? i know that if you follow the rats, they can lead you to their homes, usually in buildings, where you can use as homes and eat the mice, or follow em' to a restaurant where ya can steal food. i was headin' out to do that, mind joining me?" I wagged my tail patiently, and looked down at Zipper's Pelt.

Henry brought Mary's share to her. "Thank you." said Mary softly, slowly eating her breakfast. Henry nodded and went to the front of the alleyway to keep guard. He could hear a stranger's voice and slowly wandered off. He saw MidBreeze with another stray. "Oh, hi there." he grinned. He wasn't sure if MidBreeze knew Zipper or not. He sat down and wagged his tail in a friendly matter. He listened to MidBreeze's offer, then decided to not tag along. "I'll be keeping guard." he said, looking to MidBreeze, "Just bark if you two need some help." He went back to guard the alley.

I smile, and laugh at his weird way of treating me. "Henry, im only a friend acting as a leader of a group, not really a real one, so you can stop treatin' me so much like royalty." I repeat, and laugh. "How's bout' it?" I ask again.

"I know, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you guys!" he called, looking back at them, "We gotta stick together, y'know?" He finally made it back to the alley to see Alessa eating. Mary sat up as she felt a lot of pain. "Ooh..." she winced, "Henry..." Henry went to her side and lowered his ears. "W-what do I do?" he asked. "Just sit there." said Mary quickly.
