The Forest Guardians (Fantasy Wolf Pack) -Accepting

Postby Dracowolf » Sun Feb 26, 2017 3:19 pm

Stories of Enchanted Forests have existed for eons really, there's either something terrifying about what lurks in the trees or something mystical hidden just beyond sight. One such forest has grown around a lake. The lake is large, the water is as clear and clean as anyone could imagine. The center of the lake holds some stone ruins that no one can really explain. The forest grows thick and protective around the lake but that has not been enough to hide what is inside. Once humans had axes they started cutting away the trees and exploring deeper. Entranced with the land and its ability to grow they tried to settle. A ruler built a castle even. That's when the Forest Guardians awoke, a fierce pack of wolves with untold powers. They drove the humans out and over time the forest reclaimed their settlement.

Generations passed and the humans tried again to take the land. This time they were ready for the Guardians and struck them down. The forest chased them out again using whatever it could to protect itself, creatures that lurked deep within the land itself, gryphons, unicorns, chimeras, even dragons.

Image

The forest called to new Guardians to come. Its calls echoed through the hills like a howl. Loners and outcasts were called to create a new pack. To become the new Guardians. Once they started to arrive they found the drive to create a pack. Each falling into place as they came.

That was a month ago, the pack has started to form now. They are still learning the lay of the land, still learning what the forest will give them. None know the powerful potential lurking deep inside of them. They have seen the other creatures though, and learned the forest will provide, but also to respect a few rules. They hunt as they please but should never hunt a unicorn. They stay away from the ruins on the island.

The wolves must unlock their own power and face the evils that will come, and there will be many. But, this is what they've been called to do.

-------------------

This RP will break down into:
The mystery of the forest and the ruins
Unlocking the powers and understanding why the pack exists
Action/Adventure: There will be a lot to do, explore and fight.

The forest covers a wide area, with as mentioned a lake at the very heard of the forest and an island containing ancient stone ruins. These ruins actually have an entrance into the underground though no one has ever gone down there as it is considered off limits and the magic the forest contains does all it can give those who approach an uneasy presence. If anyone pushes past they’ll need to pass by a minotaur first, no one has ever made it past.

Most of the forest is rather friendly towards the creatures that live there, streams and lakes flow through it. Food is plentiful for all. For the wolves they hunt elk, deer, rabbits, squirrels and the like, there are also boars though it is unwise to encounter one alone. This being said they can also come across other creatures to hunt, including Catobelpas, Peryton, Jackalopes, Hippocampus and Pegasus. Though there are other creatures that while they can be hunted are more likely to pose threats like dragons, gryphons, and chimeras to name a few. The only animal off limits are the few unicorns that inhabit the forest.

The wolves have located the ruins of the castle that was built there. The castle itself looks as though it was attacked heavily by siege weapons but many of the walls remain standing. Containing three levels in total, there is the basement which while large is mostly only used for food storage. Then there is the ground floor where most of the dens are kept. The doors are broken off of their hinges. The largest of the rooms is shared as a general area for the wolves to rest. A back room which has the most protected walls is a nursery. Nearby is the area that belongs to the healers and their storage space. The upper levels are where alphas and betas stay. The stairs leading up are located in a main entrance hall the railings have been destroyed and the first landing above looks over the first floor, often this is used to hold meetings where the alphas can be above the pack and the betas stay on the stairs with the head guard and lead fighter.

General Rules

- Do not god mode-
-Do not power play-
-But use logic, a seasoned fighter does not struggle against logic-
-Do not kill without permission, but if your character does something stupid that should get them killed more than once in a row, they will die-
-While this is not a semi-lit RP, I do ask for decent grammar. Typos happen of course, but it’s easier to read when you use grammar and spelling:
Steve looked around and said, “I’ll go first. I can make sure it is safe.”
Is easier to understand than:
steve looked around and said ill go first i can make sure it is safe -
-Give people something to work with. Just responding with “Okay” gives people nowhere to go. –
-The plot comes first-
-Villains will not be easy to beat, no one person can do it-
- Take OOC and characters to the discussion thread. -
- Do not walk off mid conversation after waiting only a day for a reply. People have lives outside the RP, respect them. If you feel trapped just mention it in the discussion thread-
- Meet the characters before starting out with crushes and romance-
- If there are 5 people in the RP and you notice only two posting over and over again, take a break, let the others catch up a bit. -
-Site rules apply always of course do fade to black when needed-
-Only mods time skip.-
-No wolf was born into the pack; they were called because they were an outsider or loner-
-Powers are locked until later in the RP-

Pack Rules
Alphas will always be in charge.
Healers are to be respected
Respect the betas, their word is law when the alpha is no there
Respect group leaders
Guards protect the forest
Fighters protect the pack
The Lead Guard and Lead Fighter are personal protectors of the alphas
Do not go to the island or near the ruins on it.
Apprentices are pups that are chosen by either the healers, lead fighter, lead hunter or lead guard to learn with their team.
Omegas are much like servants, doing the leg work of those above them when the others are busy. (If the alpha needs someone to bring them food while they're doing something, an omega will.) They also exist to help break tension in the pack.

Natalia
Young Adult - Alpha Female - Shadow Manipulation
Location:The Castle - Alpha Den -> Main Area -- Tags: Open

Natalia had been awake for hours and yet she hadn't left her den. A month ago she was a loner with Bane, traveling constantly. Then she showed up here and ended up in charge? It was a weird feeling to say the least to be in such a position. She knew she couldn't hide away for long, several others had been showing up after all, slowly falling into positions they had been called for. As day went on their numbers seemed to grow and it meant knowing so many new names and wolves. On top of that there were things she didn't know yet, like how this entire place worked. How it could call loners and outcasts to it, how it could bring them here the way it did and put them in the right positions. Then there were the creatures that lived here, normal animals she had encountered before and now other things. It worried her greatly each day, how were they supposed to fight them off? There had to be more to it all.

Realizing the sun was already starting to rise higher in the sky she finally got up and started out of the den. The den was just one of the upper rooms in the ruins. broken furniture laid around the entire castle, the door had been broken, only the top half remained of it. One window in a corner of the room let her tell what time of day it was though it was little more than a hole, too small to be a danger in terms of weather but she slept far from it in case of rain. She moved out into the general area, looking down from the higher area to the area below and the main entrance of the castle.

Bane
Adult - Healer - Draconic Transformation
Location: The Castle - Healer's den -- Tags: Open

Bane rarely left the healer's den ever since he arrived, unless there was a problem or if Natalia came to get him for something. He occasionally would slip out to gather supplies but over the months he had managed to get a lot meaning that such trips were rather pointless and were just him trying to avoid contact with the strange wolves that were coming. He had always wanted a pack deep down, but the thought of being constantly surrounded by those who were strangers bothered him. He had gotten better at it, but he still often relied on Natalia to rescue him from larger groups and do the talking for him. One on one with the other wolves he was doing better at though each time he started to learn more about them more wolves that had joined, more would show up and he'd seem to have to start all over again, it was frustrating.

Dereth
Young Adult - Fighter - Lightning
Location: The Forest -- Tags: Open

Dereth was out in the forest, he had gotten up shortly after sunrise. Ever since he arrived he started exploring the massive forest, despite the dangers of doing so. At any moment he could run into a dangerous creature after all. Then again part of his job was to protect hunting groups from them, but when that happened there was a team for it. He always wanted his run in the morning though, he'd return by the time the first hunting party went out to help them out, but he just had to let himself go and learn the paths of this place. He loved every second of it, had never questioned why he was brought there and why the others were brought along too. He was just happy to be in a pack and do his part.

James
Young Adult - Fighter - Frost
Location: The Castle - Fighter Den -- Tags: Open

James did not want to get up. No part of him wanted to wake up and go out of the den. He had curled into what could only be described as a fluffy ball of white and grey. He was awake though depending to sleep hoping eventually he wouldn't be pretending. He gave a huff when it clearly wasn't working and stood up, shaking his fur out and yawning before going into a stretch. Another day in this weird place.

Leon
Young Adult - Guard - Spike Shot / Doesn't Sleep
Location: Outside the Castle -- Tags: Open

Leon sat outside the castle. He had woken up before the sun rose and took up a position just outside the entrance. No one had asked him to but he never could sleep well when there wasn't someone guarding the pack. It was part of his training back when he did live in his previous pack, to constantly be watching for attacks. He normally would prefer to go check the borders as was his job. But, he couldn't leave the den undefended for even a moment, so he simply sat perfectly still watching the forest around him and listening to the sounds, trying to find anything that didn't belong. He had seen Dereth slip out, he didn't question the wolf it seemed routine by now. Leon took a deep breath in as the wind blew towards him in a quick gust, trying to pick up any smells that shouldn't be there but this place always smelt odd, it was hard to distinguish what shouldn't be there in the first place. Still, he had to learn sometime.

Despian | Mind Breaker | Lead Fighter | Tags: Leon |
She had been awake before the sun, wandering around the forest not far from where her new, official home is, not stopping until she finds a decent, large, meaty deer- And that's she did. Walking slowly back to the den with the heavy deer on her back, she somehow spotted Leon on the outside of the castle. "Lee!! Good morning!" Despian greeted towards the brown wolf, not realizing that his name was Leon instead of Lee. It wasn't her fault anyways, that what she would say, she and Jasper had only arrive a week and a few days ago.
Jaspian | Telekinesis | Guard | Tags: Open |
Sleeping delightfully in his room, making small snoring noises in his own corner. His large body rising and lowering, indicating that he is still breathing peacefully and not caught in another of his 'chicken nightmares'. He wouldn't be too surprised if Desa decided to jump on top of him again, as a gesture of good morning as usual, she wouldn't be getting a loud dramatic this time. This time, even if he was still trying to shake off the sleepiness, he quickly roll over and just sleep on top of Desa as revenge... Oh sweet revenge.

Aurora | Beta female | Control fire | tags;; Natalia

Aurora could feel the sun hit the back of her neck and she knew it was time to get up. She let out a soft sigh, it was hard to adjust to her new role of Beta, though she liked to help the pack as best she could. Over the last few weeks, she had grown use to all the members of the pack. She thought back to her old pack, her family. She couldn't believe that she had been kicked out for her parents and brothers betrayal, which she had not known about.
She stood slowly, looking at the dull den around her, though she was greatful for Natalia making her beta, her own den made her feel lonely, she was use to her parents and brother staying with her at all times of the night. And now she was alone.
She padded threw the castle to the main area and her eyes fell on Natalia. She put on her best smile as she approached her, "Good morning Natalia, How are you this fine morning ? " she questioned as she looked around to see if others were already awake.

Natalia's ears adjusted slightly towards Aurora's steps as she approached, the first sign the alpha acknowledged the beta. She was silent for a few moments honestly uncertain how to respond to the question, she wasn't sure how she was that morning after all and what was right to share. She wasn't used to this entire pack mess in general. "About the same as I was yesterday." It was probably the most truthful answer she could give. She looked at Aurora before speaking again, "How else can one be in a place that makes honestly very little sense?"

Leon looked quickly when he heard the voice, always drawn to different sounds and that included voices. He looked Despian over briefly, his mind running through the basic info he had learned just as it did with each wolf that came to the pack. Despian. Despa. Lead Fighter. Though he had to admit the fact she called him Lee was weird. He supposed it was his own fault for being anti-social but how does one kindly correct someone on such a matter. "I believe you're missing an on there." It was probably the nicest way he could put it. Try to play nice was all he could think. "But it is a morning, so I'm sure it'll show up later." Smooth. Leon was not that great at the entire interacting with other things.
