"So if you love me,
Why'd you let me go?
....
If you love me,
Won't you let me know?"
Name: Poe
Gender: Female
Species: Malayan Tiger
Age: 4
Affiliation: Fighter
History: Poe has been a failure since her first day. Born to an indifferent mother and a prideful father, Poe was rejected for having been born a female. When Poe's mother was unable to have another cub, her father abandoned her and Poe, never to be seen again. Poe's mother, soon after giving birth to her, became ill and died, leaving her only young cub to fend for herself. With no brothers or sisters, Poe grew up quite isolated, with only her thoughts to keep her company. However, her thoughts were haunted by her acknowledgement of her faults. It has always been her belief that she was the one who ruined her family - driving her father away, being an only cub, and most likely responsible for her mother's death.
She began to believe that she deserved to be alone. Growing up, she met many challenges in the physical world, but many more within herself. She soon learned that in order to survive, she had to put the past behind her, and find a way to replace the negative thoughts with motivation and a sense of perseverance. Doing so would demand self discipline. She would prove to herself and the world she was worth something, even though every aspect of her past told her otherwise . Her first attempt to do so was during the Winter War. With no friends, no acquaintances or allies to stand with her, Poe fought singlehandedly, managing to fend off a small trio of wolves. However, another tiger fighting for Volkov challenged her, and when she failed to defeat him, she was left badly injured and almost didn't make it through the rest of the winter. But now that spring is here, she takes her second chance at a new life seriously, and is more than determined to prove to redeem herself.
Appearance: Poe is a Malayan Tiger, which means she is smaller than most other tigers. She is skinny, and her ribs are detectable, yet she is muscular from her grueling sessions of self-training. Her black stripes are bold and her fur is almost a reddish orange. Thick black markings line her eyes, making her deep amber eyes pop. She has a bad leg, her back right leg, which limps slightly, an injury from the Winter War. She is currently working on it to make it stronger.
Personality: Poe is strong willed and dedicated. She has a strong sense of self discipline, which has saved her from her younger days of despairing over her pitiful beginning to life. She can sometimes be very hard on herself, as she has high expectations for herself, leaving little room for weakness. She never gives up, and in fact hates a quiter. Poe can have a temper, and is low on patience, but due to her difficult past she is compassionate and forgiving. Not very social, as she is used to being on her own, she spends most of her time focusing on how to push her mental and physical limits through training. But she is not opposed to letting people in, and even longs for the love which was never shown her.

"When the future's architectured
By a carnival of idiots on show
You'd better lie low"
Name: Orpheus
Gender: Male
Species: White Lion
Age: 2 1/2
Affiliation: Prisoner
History:Orpheus was forced out of his pride at age 1, since he was the largest of the youngest males, and the alpha found his presence to be threatening. Orpheus wandered the land on his own for a couple of seasons, before falling head over heels for a beautiful young lioness. The two lovers became mates later on, and were inseparable. During the Winter War, Volkov's army was about recruiting more animals to fight for his side. Orpheus refused. Outraged, Volkov's henchmen seized his mate and threatened to kill her. Orpheus pleaded with the henchman, and he vowed to fight for Volkov if he would let her go free. Having no use for the lioness, she was sent away. Orpheus was forced to vow never to see her again, as it was believed that love was a weakness that needed to be uprooted. Orpheus, knowing well what terrible things they would do to his mate if he didn't comply, promised to stay with Volkov and never see her again. He now fights with great determination for Volkov's army, believing it is best to remain on his good side, for the sake of his mate.
Appearance:Orpheus is a White Lion. His subspecies is not separate from that of an African Lion. Though classified as a "White Lion", he is not an albino; his blonde coloration comes from a genetic mutation which also allows for the blue color of his eyes. Orpheus has faint detectable spots on his body which have not yet faded, indicating his youth. His mane is short, with wispy short length hair hanging around his neck and the side of his face, and the top of his mane looks somewhat like a fohawk. His eyes are a piercing, icy blue. Both his pelt and his mane are a light sandy or blonde color. The tuft of fur on the end of his tail is sandy/blonde colored like his mane. He is very muscular and large for his age.
Personality:Orpheus has a brutish personality. He is impatient and rough, all his energy that he puts into battle stems from his love for his mate and his desire to keep her alive by keeping Volkov satisfied. While he doesn't seem to have anything against the opposing side personally, he sees them as a necessary target; an opportunity to win favor from Volkov. He has been hardened by battle, but underneath, he is still as loving and passionate as he ever was; he has just learned to channel these feelings to feed his determination to secure the life of the one he loves. In reality, he despises Volkov and his kind with every fiber of his being, and he is often more spiteful towards them than any of those from the opposing side. Unlike them, he disagrees with the notion that mercy and love are weaknesses. He secretly hates to fight Volkov's enemies, as he believes their cause is noble, while he wouldn't hesitate to bash around one of Volkov's henchmen. He usually will show mercy to those he fights, sparing their lives whenever he can, and is even remorseful of the fact that he actually complies to many of Volkov's orders. He is hopeful that someday he will find a way to get away, and reunite with his mate.
Mate: Kate
Offspring: None.
Additional Notes: Orpheus is a character with a lot to learn. It is possible that somewhere in the
long run he will come to trust the Catori and those animals of North End, becoming a double
agent for them. His one true goal is to be reunited with Kate, and he would do anything for her;
including take on whoever it is who gets between them..
