she blinked, taken aback, but only nodded.
"But there's sun out there, how will you be fine? You'll definitely need-" and idea hit her.
"Wait."
She drew up some shadows from the shaded den, before directing them to layer over Star. She was now covered with a faint layer of black.
"You should be ok under the sun now that I've covered you with my shadows, so you can go hunt your heart out if you want." she said with a small smile.
"Leave the guarding to me."

Star smiled. "Thank you, Tsubaki. You have always been my best friend and I hope nothing can separate us." She said, then stood up, looking outside. She began to walk put and felt no pain or burning from the sunlight. Her eyes were still silver, her teeth sharp. Walking into the forest, she saw a rabbit. Star blinked and suddenly she was on top of the rabbit, sucking it dry. She gasped, before running back to camp. She was faster than most others. Now she was better. Better at seeing, hearing, smelling.... she could run much faster, she could jump much higher. The only drawback..... the need for blood of her own kind. *Tsubaki must know* she thought as she ran to Tsubaki. She felt her heart beating and heard her breaths. She remembered how her great grandfather, the first vampiric, had no heartbeat, and no breath. He would often tell Star stories about a vampiric that could breath and had a heartbeat.... but that same vampiric could kill other vampirics with just a bite, unlike normal vampirics. Star gulped.

Raven watched as a kitsune-wolf cross caught a rabbit. The wolfess seemed to be weak, most likely from a fight. She grinned before walking behind the wolfess, then beside her. "Hmm, hello, weak one. Its seems you've been hurt." she said, her vivid blue eyes stared at the wolfess, then noticed her wounds and the blood oozing from her wounds.
"Hmmm deep wounds ehh?" She asked.

She stiffened when she scented Star's scent, and something told her that something was wrong. She decided to go with her gut instinct, which was a very good one.
"Masaaki! Guard Star's den!" she barked, before running out of the camp to find Star, following the scent trail.
"Star!"

Star's breath halted. "Tsubaki...." she barely made out before finding her. "I've changed.... im..... im scared I.... I might bite one of the clan..... my... instincts are telling me to.." she whimpered.

Ravenia smiled. "Im sure bees would be nicer...." she said, before circling Deltora. She heard Flamefang moving towards them and her eyes turned silver. "You must be Flamefang's pack member. Do you think he would allow me access to your prey for the season?" She asked but her eyes were staring at Deltora's neck, and she imagined the sweet blood flowing down her throat. She hissed. *let her live, she can benefit you* she thought to herself before slipping into the shadows. The female kitsune watched as Flamefang neared.

Flamefang decided to walk to Deltoras den, curious of why she was wounded.

She cursed, her mind a whirl as she tried to think of something.
"Y-you won't. I'm s-sure you won't." she tried to make out, but hated how her voice trembled. She had to stay strong, as the deputy female, for Star and for the Clan. She steeled herself.
"You won't, Star. You're our Alpha. I trust that you'll put the clan first." she said firmly. She took a deep breath, not even believing what she was going to say next.
"And if things get bad, I'm always here to be bitten. I should be fine with my coat of shadows but-" she broke off, not sure. For once, her calm, confident eyes were filled with uncertainty.
"J-just hopefully, nothing bad will happen." she said, before she calmed herself and looked up again, giving Star a rueful smile before stepping forwards.
"After all, best friends are supposed to help each other, no?" she was trembling ever so slightly, but controlled and braced herself.

Star nodded. "Yes, but in a time like this, I think I must stay away from the clan. Let you lead them for a while, until I can control this.... thirst. You know where my cave is, just to the south of us, and if you have a problem, you can come to me. I trust you, Tsubaki. I know you can lead them." She said. "Besides, it is easier to keep control when I can only hear your heart." She added.

She blinked, letting the information sink in.
"B-but Star! You're the Alpha! Our Alpha! I ca-There must be some other way!" Deep down though, she knew there was none.
She lowered her head.
"Yes, Star. I'll do it. For you and for the clan. But what should I tell them about this and my new temporary leadership?"
