Alessa jumped a bit from the loud noise. Maria looked to Kiro, then patted the pup on her back.

The judge told Kiro to explain the case in which he did. He decided that Alessa's lawyer could present their evidence first. (Are ya doing her lawyer too?)

[Boomer]

"Your honor, I'd like to call my first witness, Alessa Gillespie." he said, "I'd also like to mention that she needs to be carried, as her paws were severally burned." Maria stood up and carried the pup to the witness stand. She set her down and went back to the prosecutor's table. Alessa looked up as an officer walked up to her. He told her to raise her right paw and she did, showing the slightly bloody bandages on her paw. "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you God?" he asked. "Y-yes, I do." she said softly. Her lawyer walked to Alessa and sat so he didn't tower over her. "Alessa, can you identify the person that was responsible for the fire that nearly killed you three years ago?" he asked. Alessa nodded and pointed to her mother. "Let the record show that the witness has identified the defendant." he stated, "Now, can you tell the jury how you got those burns on your paws?" Alessa clung onto Scarlett. "I was kidnapped and taken into the mountains..." she said softly, "I remember my mother and her partner drugged me and left... I woke up to a big fire. I-I had to jump and my paws got burned from trying to escape." "No further questions, your witness." he said, walking back to the prosecutor's table and allowed Dahlia's lawyer to question the pup.

[Pipsquawk]

The lawyer nodded before walking up to the pup. "Were you ever put up for actual adoption?"he questioned.

[Boomer]

"No, I just went to the hospital after I was rescued... everyone thought my mother had died in the fire." she said, "I don't know who my father is, s-so there was no way they could contact him and ask if he wanted me. Mary was assigned as my nurse and she always took care of me, even when they thought I was gonna die. She kinda just... took me in." She looked down at Scarlett, then back up at her mother's lawyer.

[Pipsquawk]

"Mk so when you say kidnapped that's not the case, but I must say I can't testify against the rest since it's true." He looked at Dahlia"You may return to your seat Alessa." Once she was taken back he looked at Kiro. "I call Kiro to the stand." Kiro walked to the witness stand with a shrug and raised his right paw and repeated the prompt given to him. The lawyer looked at him "Kiro, is it true you have a personal connection with the victims. "Yes, that's true." The lawyer nodded slightly"who's to say he isn't lying about most of this?" He simply said and went back to Dahlia.

[Boomer]

The defense lawyer went to Kiro and stood in front of him. "Now Officer, although you do have a connection to the victim, you still have to uphold the law." he stated, "Is it true that the accused had abandoned her child at the time of the house fire?"

[Pipsquawk]

"Yes, this is also true." Kiro had simply stated. "You have the case file correct Kiro?" The judge questioned and Kiro nodded handing it to the lawyer.

[Boomer]

The defense lawyer looked through the file. "It was recorded that a seven year old female was brought to the hospital alone." he said, "The victim suffered from third degree burns over one hundred percent of her body. Firefighters were unable to locate Ms. Gillespie's body and assumed she had perished in the flames. When the victim was finally able to speak, it was noted that she had no idea where her mother was or who her father was. With the assumed death of Ms. Gillespie, the child was deemed an orphan."

Lily and her family went back home. "Give them a bath." Lily said to April. April nodded and carried to the bath and cleaned the sand from their fur and wings. "Rosita, my stomach hurts. Mind making me some soup?" Lily groaned. Rosita and Minccino made her some soup.
