Oooops... Bane thought, his tail stiffening at the somewhat less friendly reply to his greeting.

"Hi!" KaiLee chirped perkily at the male who had spoken, her tail still waving calmly as she looked him in the eye, "No need to be disturbed. We aren't exactly a bunch of warriors."

Bane rolled his eyes at KaiLee who would be the peacemaker. She stood there, her tail still wagging and now her tongue lolling out. She definitely didn't look like a threat. Meanwhile Dandy, Bane could see, was still trying to get over the fact that both of his band had broken his unspoken law of not speaking to strangers. His moonstruck look was also rather comical and not at all something any fox could be afraid of. As for himself, Bane recognized that he was quite a bit smaller than the male talking, but he thought he could be a match for the todd that was still glaring at them. However, a fight was not what he was looking for.

Bane looked back at the newcomers, his tail starting to wave again, a little less enthusiastically now, though.

"I guess it's just nice to talk to another fox," he explained, a little sheepishly, "we usually never talk to anyone."

He rolled his eyes over at Dandy this time who narrowed his eyes back at Bane.

"Can't just go barging into other people's business..." was all the pale colored todd had to say, his head lowering as he could see that he'd have to undergo the torture of social interaction, brief though he hoped it might be.

Damien flicked one ear at the single vixen's reply, eyes narrowing more ever so slightly. They didn't seem
like they were too much of a problem at all ?.. though the pale todd gave him an uneasy feeling.. maybe
it was the way he was talking right now ? He did seem like a good guy though so.. Turning his attention
back to the vixen he gave a curt nod, " Try telling that to the- " he was cut off by being shove aside, letting
out a cry, falling off slightly to the side, "-the runt behind you. Yeah. Really don't need you here. Highly
suggesting you scram. " he hissed out, eyes harsh and burning with a cold fire. He was not the most wel-
coming fox.

" Who are you to say who we can trust ? You guys don't look like warriors- aren't close to acting
like them- but still. " he added on, curly tail whisking from side to side behind him, the cloak
still dripping wet and letting water droplets fall into the grass quickly, running down thin green
blades and disappearing from sight.

" What he means to say-" another time of being shoved. " Is that your not allowed here. I think your
pale bud is right. "

KaiLee watched as Bane, who was nearest the other two foxes, visibly flinched and his tail not only stopped waving, but tucked between his legs. This irked her somewhat, since she thought of Bane as a younger sibling. She knew that he could be very sensitive to hostility, not that these two would know that.

KaiLee forced herself to remain calm and look at the situation from the other foxes' perspectives. She recognized with some chagrin that they really had some right to being annoyed by their sudden appearance. It wasn't their fault that Bane had brashly called out to them and interrupted whatever they were doing before.

Still, KaiLee couldn't stop herself from feeling irritation at Bane's reception. She felt protective of her surrogate family and hostility was a threat, even if it looked as if the fox who had spoken first was trying to calm his companion the same way she had done for Dandy. So she kept her cool, trying not to give the mean one any reason for wanting a fight. She nodded to him, forcing herself to continue to look friendly, though her tail stilled and her tongue was no longer lolling comically.

"Perhaps we should keep moving afterall." she agreed in a slightly cooler tone.

KaiLee heard Dandy give a dramatic sigh of relief and she rolled her eyes.

Really, even this negative interaction was probably really good for him. Dandy has got to stop thinking this world is made up of only our little gang... she thought to herself.

Bane's ears moved back slightly, looking a little more embarrassed and definitely crushed as he nodded his agreement.

It was Chris' turn to be shoved.. and he got a very hostile glare from his taller companion- one of which
actually made him slightly winch and look away. Damien was always a softie.. slowly lowering himself
he took a step back yet kept his tail still and ears perked up, " Apologies on Christophe's behalf. He's not
the greatest with.. cooperating with multiple foxes, "

" LISTEN HERE- " another glare and he quieted down, teeth bared while looking down, cloak swaying with him
as he shifted from left to right.

" Ahem. Well.. and I don't think you honestly have to leave, I'm sure he could loosen up after a bit.. he has a
bitter taste in the beginning, it gets better after a few seconds, no issues. " he said calmly, his once-stiff tail
starting to wag in a friendly manner yet his body still staying tense, wary.

" Damien your going to get murdered. " the shorter fox threatened from behind, moving back up to stand in front of
Damien, " I'm Christophe.. like he said. 'He' is Damien. Nice to meet you ra- " he cut off the last word to just
give a curt nod, no time for name-calling right now.

Now it was Dandy's turn to flinch, afraid as he was that KaiLee would...

"Well it is nice to meet you both," the vixen said in a tone that was too friendly for Dandy's liking, "it really would be nice to take a break from running around.
"But we won't be around long and I can promise we will be on our best behavior." KaiLee finished, sealing Dandy's fate.

Dandy's mouth puckered in a strange way for a fox, but after a moment he let it go with a sigh and a shrug.

Whatever, I guess we can share. he thought, trying to console himself with KaiLee's promise of a brief stay.

"My name is KaiLee, by the way," KaiLee explained as she dipped her head toward Dandy and Bane, "this is Dandy, and this is Bane. We're pretty easy to get along with if you give us a chance."

Speak for yourself... Dandy commented mentally.

He glanced around to see how Bane handled the news and was both pleased and saddened to see the teen's much more sober expression. He tried to work up the pride to gloat over the fact that he was right in his warnings to the young fox, but he really only felt bad that Bane had to learn the lesson the hard way. At least these two didn't appear to be quite as nasty as they first appeared.

"I don't know about the rest of you," KaiLee began again, "but I'm starving! We haven't had a morning hunt yet. I know there's plenty of threadmouse around, but with all the talking, we probably scared most of the closer prey away.
"We'll spread out for a bit to give you both some space to hunt so that everyone gets food." KaiLee added, dipping her head at Damien in a friendly manner again, "But then we should meet up again once we've got something to eat; that is, if it wouldn't bother you too much. It would be nice to listen to someone else's stories for once. Its hard to find something new to talk about when you live together."

And now she's deciding hunting schedules... Dandy thought exasperatedly.

But he was really grateful that she took the brunt of the communication and he was also very pleased to hear that there might actually but some hunting going on, his ears perking up hopefully for the first time during this conversation. The fact that they would be away from these frigidity todds might also have been a contributor to his improved outlook. The point was, there would be hunting soon, and food.

(Eeep! Chris, don't eat me! Or my foxes! ^^')

Satin paw heard more foxes further along the river, she turned to the ones near her "Hey, I'm going to go check that out, hope you guys don't get sick or anything."
She trotted quickly over to the five foxes and spent no time with niceties
"Have you five heard anything of a strange plague?"
