Personality: Pixiu is confident and strong, and despite her station quite easy to get along with. Charismatic and kind, she does not believe in sacrifices. All lives of those on her side are equally valuable to her and she shows no signs of that belief shaking. A risk-taker and devoted to protecting those of a lower rank, she can be impulsive, but finds ways to pull through.
History: Pixiu doesn't like to talk about the time before Shard, though she does remember it. She usually laughs off any questions with "how old do you think I am?" but she has been involved in the rebellion since its infancy. She has taken the role of a surrogate mother to many warriors under her care that were orphaned by the fighting, only to see many of them suffer the same fate. She doesn't talk about any of them by name, and she insists on being in the front lines of any conflict now. She never mentions specifics of what she has seen or known, but it obviously still haunts her despite her attempts to convince everyone otherwise.

Pixiu stretched her wings as she looked out from the mountain cave that served as both a headquarters and a home. The blue feathers at the tip of her wings brushed against the stony walls, making her tail twitch in excitement. She could see over plains and peaks alike and the view suited her, the perch was safe and hidden and the location seemed in every meaningful way to be ideal. Gray eyes traveled across the horizon, no sign that anything was out of the ordinary, but something still bothered her. She was up early, as she was every morning, to receive the scout reports for the previous night, part of her daily routine. Various other members of the rebellion had suggested that she simply pass the duty to someone else, but she liked waking up and getting the reports, it allowed her to look after the scouts and get to know them. She slouched somewhat, still groggy from a fitful sleep the night before. Around the time scouts were meant to report in, she always started feeling anxious, fearing the worst the instant any of them were late. Suddenly, she caught sight of another griffon flying towards her, a young scout, Tiaga. She straightened, pulling herself up to her full height as the scout landed. "Report." She demanded simply.

Tiaga did her best to stand up at her full height to honor the commander, but she had been on the longest patrol, the overnight, and felt herself getting drowsier and drowsier by the second since she landed and her voice made her exhaustion evident. "Nothing that isn't routine, Commander. All is in order and no signs of enemy activity."

She acknowledged the report with a nod of her head, signaling for the scout to relax herself. "Good, now get some sleep, you've been on patrol for a while and you look exhausted. Pass on the message that I'm in the training field if anyone asks." Despite being the commander, her tone was light and casual and she addressed the young scout as her equal. Her tail twitched as she felt a breeze travel across her feather and she spread her wings, kicking herself off with the powerful legs of a tiger and flying towards the plain used for sparring and combat training.
