"Sure." I said, getting all close to lost's side, getting her heat. "Ready." I said.

"A really, really long tme ago, there were only puppies. They all played, laugh, slept, and messed around together, never doing anything. After years of acting like puppies, there was barely any grass left, and there were so many deer that it was like filling a pond up with fish. Soon the puppies realized that they had to grow up at some time. Soon they all became sad, no fun, and always busy. They forgot how to play. One of those puppies realized that just because they grew up, they could still play around sometimes. This is how all wolves learned that some times you need to be serious, and other times you can have fun." She talked slow and in a soft, soothing voice. She was hoping that Zaphara wold fall asleep.

(well, for recap:
Zaphara was attacked by a cougar, but Star stepped in and saved her. She is injured with claw marks on her stomach, flanks, and back legs from fighting it. Zaphara ran off, hding. Lost found her and is caring for her, try to convince her to rest.)

I wobbled slightly. I've had this many wounds before. I had forced myself to stay awake and to not faint. This time, the pain was much higher. I felt my head become dizzy, but yet forced myself to stay awake. I had to be ready for that cougar to come back.
