The vet came out of the back, holding Naomi. She had a cast on her leg. "But something much happier is about to happen." said the vet, ushering Kobu to the back room. (she told Kobu in silence something and he emerged as happy as a turkey that just escaped dinner). "Well I'll be, that little baffoon!" he said strutting back into his chair.

Henry rested his head on Mary's back. She gave a warning growl and he moved. Mary was in no mood to be messed with. Henry curled up and watched the vet. He timidly looked at the floor.

Henry was taken into the back by a vet tech. Mary kept an eye on the pups, but they weren't any trouble. They simply curled up by her and drifted to sleep. Mary sighed in relief, then shut her eyes. She soon fell asleep.
