Though I'd appreciate it if you could try that. " He thought for a moment, thinking that this dragon seemed familiar. "Who are you, may I ask? You seem familiar."

Shade gave a nod, then looked to him when he asked her name, looking down to the male since her form was larger. She gave a small smirk, for that was how she liked it. Beings shouldn't know who she was. She was merely a shadow here, and it was better for her if she just went unnoticed. "I am Shade. I help safeguard the forest from within the shadows, which is why few know of me. Those shadows are what will help us find that brat." she said, finding the child's shadow soon enough. "Come along." she said as she walked, wings folded against her back.

He shivered involuntary and he failed to keep eye contact with the larger, intimidating female. "You are similar to Goldenscale in that aspect then; she looks after this forest as well." He said. "Thank you, for offering to help find Storm."

Shade gave a growl when he said she was like Goldenscale. "No, I never will be like her. She's like a gift, the light the sun gives off. I'm nothing more than a being cast away, a heartless being destined to live in the dark. And where she won't harm unless needed, I will kill at any point if I feel I am threatened." she answered, her green eyes darknening and looking evil. "It was Goldenscale who asked me to help protect the forest, and I can't refuse her. And I can't necessarily leave a child out on their own. I'm not that heartless." she replied.

He stayed silent for a moment, unsure what to say. "Perhaps you aren't exactly like her, but the fact that you try to help others makes you a better person. I don't know your past; perhaps something happened before which makes you view yourself in that way. I won't ask. However, perhaps helping Goldenscale protect the forest will bring you out of the darkness and into the light. See here, I believe you met Storm before, and I can sense you aren't too fond of him. Yet you are still willing to help me find my son." He said.

Shade gave a bitter laugh. "I do indeed dislike that child. He got angry because I refused to train him, and blatantly ignored the fact that I had said I don't train children because my own died. Not fond of him is an understatement. And I'm only helping because I'd rather not mope." she answered, her voice bitter with a hint of sorrow. "And I do not view myself of that. It is what I am, what I breath. I am a shadow, and it is because I chose the light that I was cast away." she added softly, her eyes forward and body never missing a step. It was obvious she had dealt with that for a long time by the way she moved herself around.
