Dev thought along the lines of This brute is huge, he'd make an awesome shield! so he ducked behind the wolf and made sure he was properly knocked out.

Nina's fire attack his Mardrom straight-on. His fur caught alight and began burning him. The large black wolf let out a loud howl and began running around, trying to quickly figure out how to extinguish it.

Dev was taken aback by how easy that was; as his eyes followed Mardrom's flaming self around, he didn't realize that his back was unguarded- and Nina was behind him.

Nina yowled and quickly turned her attention to the unguarded Dev. Without thinking, she viciously spat fire towards him.

((And the last thing Dev saw was a bright flash of fire? Nah, that'd put a quick end to this already-flailing RP.))
Suddenly, all the adrenaline left Dev and he flopped to the ground, feeling the heat of Nina's flames pass over his face. His whiskers caught on fire, but they burned out quickly and the nightmare cat finally passed out.

Luna returned from the cat's garden as none of the dogs were really doing anything harmful to see Mardrom's charred fur and Dev's limp form. She trotted over to Nina. "What in the name of somebody really important is going on here?" she asked, forgetting Nina was under Mardrom's control.

Mardrom, having successfully extinguished his fur, wasn't paying full attention as he patted the ashes from them. Nina, having no command given about Luna, simply stared at her with her usual blank expression.

Luna looked at the cat curiously. She had a dull look in her eyes- it was obvious that Mardrom had hypnotized her. She closed her eyes and tried to heal the little cat, feeling compassion in her doggy heart.

Dev was slowly awakening, when he saw a dog bending over Nina. Then he looked to Mardrom, evidently still alive, and cursed. "I'll get you later, you mutt," he hissed at Luna, not realizing she was attempting to heal Nina. Then he pounced at Mardrom.

Nothing that Luna did seemed to free Nina. She continued to just stare at her with her same blank gaze. Mardrom, however, was in a more difficult situation. Seeing that Dev was coming at him, he called at Nina to help. Hopping away from Luna, she charged toward Dev.

Luna pinned down Nina easily, and called upon her healing magic to use grass stalks in an effort to keep her bound. It wasn't a very strong trick, but she was on Dev's side- Mardrom had always been a bully to her.

Nina flailed around helplessly, spitting fire in any direction she could see as she fought in vain to get free. Mardrom saw this, and knew the rest of the fight was probably just up to him... Something he didn't exactly want to accept.
