"I know that voice." Starlight growled, "I know him from my old pack." She wasn't sure whether she should run towards Aiden, or run in the other direction. There was clearly bad blood between the two of them.

Canis noticed Core's body language said he knew this mysterious trespasser. "Core, Do you know this wolf?"

"Not likely." Starlight said before Core could answer, "Until a month ago, I lived with this wolf and his pack all my life. I never saw Core."
She was very uneasy about his presence. "He's my half-brother. I haven't seen him since I... since his mother died."

"Starlight." canis said. "What were you going to say?" he asked

"Nothing!" she snapped. She didn't want to talk about it, and she knew that if she stuck around, he would want to know. "I'm going to go say hello to Aiden." she said, running off.

Aiden sniffed the ground some more as he waited for the alpha. He was surprised, to say the least, when he smelled Starlight. "Starlight? What is she doing here??" he growled to himself.
The fur on his back was raised, and his lips curled back into a snarl... he wanted to barge right into that territory and find her, but he knew that would ruin his chances of joining the pack. Honestly, he couldn't take solitary life, and he wasn't willing to risk a chance at joining them, so he stayed put.

Canis didn't bother to follow for his feelings were hurt so he sat there.

Starlight looked behind her as she ran. She was glad that she wasn't followed, but she frowned, regretting that she snapped at him like that. If he found out what she had done... their relationship could be over before it really started.

The beta female slowed to a stop as she spotted Aiden. He greeted her with an aggressive snarl.
"Why are you here, Aiden?" Starlight asked.
"Why are you here?" Aiden asked.
"I asked you first." she growled. Clearly, they were getting nowhere, so Aiden answered her. "I'm looking for a pack to join. Father is full of grief, and can't think clearly. He banished all his sons!" he growled.
"Just like he banished his firstborn daughter." Starlight growled in reply.
"Alright, now you!" Aiden demanded, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you. Tell me why you're here."
"The answer to both: I'm the beta in this pack." she answered. Aiden's eyes widened in surprise.
"...What?"
