Vitani nodded, laying down next to Kopa, though not too close. "Thanks," she said as kindly as she could muster. She looked up at the sky as she slid a paw over her head, trying to smooth down the always-present tuft of fur sticking up in between her ears. "It's nice to know that someone doesn't compare me to that she-witch." She looked down again, suddenly embarrassed. "Not all children can honestly say that they loved their mother. I did, as a cub. But she became too abusive, and she always had her heart set on Kovu; he was always her favorite. So, all we ever did was fight when I grew older." She suddenly stopped, realizing that he probably didn't want to hear a sob story. "I'm sorry about all that. You probably don't care anyways," she said aloud, looking at the male lion.

I walk back from an unsuccessful hunt. Irritation shot across my face as I sit down and think about that impala. "I could of caught that darn thing if I tried harder." I said as I gave a short quiet growl. I looked up and rose my paw to lick it. Some blood, "I might go back later to see if it died from blood loss." I say aloud. I look around to my pride. My tail flicks.

[Scarlett;]

Vitani saw Alana come up to Pride Rock. She got up and made her way own the slope of rocks that led to the top of the Rock. She padded over to the fellow hunter, who seemed to be in a 'defeated' kind of mood, by the look of it. "Bad hunt?" She guessed as she sat back on her hauches, eyeing the blood on Alana's paw sympathetically.

I look up to see Vitani as I give a short smile. I nod angered. "Darn thing escaped right from between my claws." I say giving another growl. I lick my other paw then looks back up to Vitani.

Vitani sighed, nodding in understanding. "Some hunts have to come up fruitless. Its okay; that's the funny thing about hunting. You never know if you'll come up with a plump catch or nothing at all," she replied, trying to sound friendly as she lapped at a pool of water, just in reach from where she was sitting.

After I finish licking the blood from my paw I smile to Vitani. "Thanks, Vitani. I appreciate it." I tell her with a happy tone.
