"First it was just the humans who were turning, next was their pets, but now, everything is starting to turn. It makes it especially hard for the wolves, since all they eat are other animals, now they're starving to death...The few wolves that have managed to survive have taken in a few dogs as well. But the fight to stay alive is hard, considering they can't kill without biting, and they can't bite the zombies or they'll turn."

Guards;
Guards our the protectors. They guard the rest of the pack, and keep an extra close on the females and the pups. These are the only wolves able to kill someone who's turned without tuning into one. They are extremely clever, when they fight someone who's turned, they do not use their teeth or claws, they usually lead them off cliffs or crush them under tree branches, or find other ways to dispatch them. This rank is for very large muscular male wolves/dogs.

Scouts;
Scouts find food, since the wolves can no longer eat meat, this group of wolves gathers plants, eggs, or other sources of nutrition. They also run ahead of the Leader and make sure the path is clear. This rank is usually reserved for young agile males.

Females;
Females do not get ranks like they would in a normal 'pack' they are highly guarded much like the pups. If a female insists they want a true rank, the alpha may consider giving them one.

Healer;
Their is only one healer in the pack. The Alpha decides who it is, and it is usually a male that isn't fit for any other rank.

The Turned;
These are dogs, or wolves, that have been bitten or scratched, and turned into the living dead.

Herbs;


Alder
Reduces swelling and prevents infection when chewed and applied to a wound. May also be chewed by a wolf with a toothache to reduce pain, swelling, and aid in preventing complications.

Alfalfa
Used to prevent tooth decay.

~

Aloe Vera
Use the gel inside of leaves to cure skin problems or burns.

~

Ash Tree
New shoots are to be eaten, and chewed and applied to the bit of an Adder or Viper to stave off the effects of its poisoned bite.
Keys (seeds) of the Ash tree may also be consumed to fight the pain caused by a stitch in the side.

Borage
Leaves and Roots should be consumed to stave off fevers. Seeds and leaves should be consumed by the nursing Faes to increase available milk.
Borage should never be used dried, only green.

Bramble Twigs
Chew this to a fine syrup. It helps to sleep.

~

Burdock
Leaves may be chewed and applied to wounds that are clear of infection to speed healing.
Roots may be chewed and applied to a wound to draw infection from it.

Catnip
Leaves and Flowers can be used to relive congestion and coughs.

~

Celandine
Used to strengthen weak eyes.

~

Chamomile
Leaves and Flowers may be consumed to sooth a wolf and add to their physical strength.

~

Cobwebs
Gathered and pressed into wounds to stop bleeding. Generally only used with wounds that risk bleeding heavily as they can cause increased risk of infection.

Comfrey
Used when healing broken bones.

~

Echinacea
Used to ease infection.

~

Fever Few
Leaves can be used to reduce fever, in addition to being consumed to aid against colds and stomach ailments.

~

Honey
Used to sooth the throat. Particularly good for smoke inhalation.

~

Juniper
Berries ease the stomach and can serve as a counter poison. Leaves are used to ease coughs and other respiratory problems.

~

Lavender
Leaves & flowers are particularly good when eaten for easing pains in head and throat.
Inhaling the sent of fresh flowers can also calm the nerves.

Marigold
Leaves and Flowers should be consumed to relieve chills.
Leaves and Petals can be chewed and placed on wounds to prevent infection.

Mouse Bile
Bile from the liver of the common mouse may be harvested and used to kill stubborn fleas and ticks.

~

Poppy
Seeds can be consumed to remove pain and aid is sleep.
Flower heads should be consumed together to relive continuous coughs.
Petals and Leaves should be chewed to aid in sleep and improve resting.

~

Tansy
Leaves, flowers, and Stems should be eaten together to remove worms.
Leaves may be chewed to relive joint aches.
Flowers should be consumed to remove coughs.
Pregnant Faes should NEVER be given Tansy, for it causes miscarriages.

Thyme
Should be consumed to calm an anxious wolf, or to aid in brining restful sleep.

~

Water Mint
Used to help cure bellyaches.

Willow Tree
Water from beneath the bark of the flowering willow may be dripped into the eyes to help clear blurriness of vision. It may also be applied to dry patches of skin to sooth itches.
Small amounts of Willow Bark may be consumed to ease pain, act against inflammation, and to ease diarrhea or fevers.

Yarrow
Entire plant should be consumed to induce vomiting.
Entire plant should be chewed and applied to wounds to relive pain and prevent infection.

Yew
To make a wolf vomit up poisons. Nightshade Nightshade is extremely toxic to wolves and human.
Deathberries/Yew berries/NightSeeds Death berries are an extremely poisonous species of red berries, and are known to humans as yewberries.

Holly Berries
Holly berries, while not as dangerous as death berries, but are still a danger to pups.

~

Foxglove Seeds
Foxglove seeds are known to be a dangerous medicine. While they can help the heart, they can easily cause paralysis and heart failure. They are often mistaken for poppy seeds.

History: Leo was sold by his parents owners to a small family. Once the turned started to eat everyone he ran away. Leo eventually bumped into Vitani on the streets and she took him in.

I lay there, my eyes closed, breathing heavily. Earlier that day a spooked deer had trampled me, breaking at least two of my ribs, or at least that's what it felt like. Stupid deer, those were the dumbest creatures. Besides sheep that is. I opened my eyes, then winced, a searing pain shooting through my skull and blinding my eye sight. I let out an almost silent whimper, using all my strength, I pulled myself up onto my legs. I turned my head, observing the soundings before turning my gaze onto Raven.

"Come on squirt, lets move before nightfall." I instructed sternly, while I walked across the leaf strewn ground. I flicked my ears back, I absolutely hated the sound the leaves made. It was nothing more than a light crunching sound, and for some reason it made my stomach churn.

Vitani stayed crouched low, hiding in the grass. She started to sniff the wind and was glancing through the trees trying to look deeper into the woods. "Leo get back here! These dogs could be Turned." She growled, absently flicking her tail away from Leo.

"Aww Vitani I was laying with that." Leo whined. He then stalked up towards the first tree and started to growl. "Don't worry 'Tani I will protect us" Leo yipped and started to run into the forest.

I peered over Raven's side slowly, seeing a smaller, tanish colored pup, I sighed with relief. I then lifted my head up, pinning my ears back when I saw Raven given me a death glare. I grinned, trying to appease him, but instead I ended up getting knocked to the ground.

Vitani raced off after Leo. "Leo come back! We don't know what's out there." She barked racing to catch him before he got into trouble. She kept pausing to sniff his trail so she wouldn't completely lose Leo.
