Neoptolemos smirked in satisfaction as Fade commented on his musculature. Of course he was thrilled she had noticed, since he was quite proud of his body, but he put on an act that she surprised him, though it was not very convincing.
"Oh, you think so? Well, thank you."
When he said 'thank you', he took a step closer and arched his head backwards, raising it up to extend his already impressive full height, while at the same time striking a noble-looking pose. Neoptolemos was a bit tool self-centered to think to return the compliment, but in the heat of the moment it was possible that Fade would not even notice in the first place.

Fade didn't care if he couldn't give back the compliment,she smirked. She kept swishing her tail,she was enjoying this little moment she was having.

She was raised in a realm of chaos where if it was not family turning against itself it was the very land where they slept. It was an equivocal time where the certainty of ones survival hinged on whether or not you were smart enough, lucky enough to escape the devil because no amount of skill would promise a tomorrow. Her kinfolk were an elusive breed of Wolves thought to be harbingers of ill fate and chaos. Tales of their presence among times of calamity are purely coincidental. Nonetheless the frequency of their attendance during instances of misfortune was the inspiration for fear and disdain toward any who carried their blood. They were driven from the lush moorlands of Inertia to take residence in the unforgiving deserts and wastelands beyond. Trained from a young age to fight and conquer, Sérieux became greatly dissatisfied with her quality of life and left to seek out better territories.

Darkness folded over the magma wolf as she trailed along the borders firmly outlining her packs territory, linger a moment longer than was suited to protocol. The she-wolfs breathe rose from his nostrils in heated plumes as she breathed. An onlooker might assume that a chill had set in amongst the dark wooded territory but in actuality the puffs of mist were smoke, erupting from her like a slumbering dragon, to dissipate overhead.

It was a routine inspection. As tedious and little more than a chore to the Fighter, it kept Sérieux occupied. However her quick assessment was over now and she frowned discontentedly as she plotted a route for home. It wasn’t that didn’t want to return but rather didn’t enjoy the idleness that home seemed to contain. Nevertheless she picked up her feet, swift, silent and assured in her power, toward the dens where she was likely to encounter her comrades.

It was a simple matter to tell that Fade seemed to be enjoying his company, which only inflated his already large ego. He relaxed his stance slightly and continued the conversation with a question.
"So, what would you say if someone wanted to meet you at sunset on the hill to the east?", he asked.
Neoptolemos was obviously referring to himself as 'someone'. He knew sunset-watching was an excellent way to please a female, and he hoped Fade would accept the offer. Then again, she had no reason to deny him. He was strong, held a good rank, and wasn't too shabby in the 'looks' department, if one were to ask him. Who wouldn't want to have a date with the great Lead Fighter of Night Pack?
Once she did meet him, maybe he could get a few nuzzles in. The very thought filled his chest with light, airy excitement. For good measure, he raised an eyebrow in his best 'charming' expression. In all honesty he needed some work on it, but it was clear what he was thinking, at least.

Cheer's head snapped in the direction of the smoke, she was ready to scream 'fire' but she soon realized that the smoke was being expelled by a wolf. Curiously she walked over, "Hello!" she said cheerfully, her tail swished lazily as she stood before the imposing wolf.

It took a few seconds for Sérieux to realize she was being addressed; most did not heed her presence. That or she remained so well hidden that they were not aware of her lurking amongst them. The orange-patterned Guardian lifted her head and gave the speaker a curious, yet indifferent once-over. “He…Hello.” The salutation felt foreign on her tongue as she nodded her head, trying to make sense of something as simple as an idle greeting.

Sérieux shifted on her paws a bit, transferring her weight as she let her eyes drop to the floor with a sudden sheepishness. “I’m..afraid I don’t remember what your name is…?” The female was uncertain despite the hard, uncompromising tone of voice, as though she did not intend to offend but likewise did not care if she did.

Cheer smiled kindly, "My name is Cheer, it is a pleasure to meet you!" she sat down tenderly, aware that the other female was nervous. "I just joined earlier this evening, thanks to Alpha Night." she said fondly.

The female’s perpetual glare reflected a new flare of confusion. The tone that Cheer used was distantly familiar, invoking a memory of a time where pups were plentiful and the adults humored their antics. Instantly Sérieux scowled, ears faltering until they shifted back with displeasure.

The Guardian pushed aside the bubble of annoyance and focused back on the conversation despite now believing Cheer was patronizing her. “Cheer, then. Welcome to the pack and may your stay be one you do not regret.” She murmured formally. “I am one of the Guardians, Sérieux les Désastre. You may address me as Sérieux.” she did not want to be spoken to with familiarity when the new female had not earned that privilege.

“What prompted you to join us?”
