The Story.
A deadly virus that deteriorates the brain is wiping out the city. Armed with enhanced stamina, uncontrollable rage, and insanity, an infected canine turns against its captors and flees to the streets. Left to his own agenda, Katzbalger spreads the infection and builds up a pack bent upon slaughtering humans and 'impure' dogs alike for the sake of "evolution." A small group of street dogs have banded together in a struggle for survival, and those few with a natural immunity to the virus stand as the only defense against devastation. Will you Join us, the Immune, and vulnerable who save others, each other and ourselves? Against the Infected dogs who harm us, themselves and others, or will you join Them?
How and why was the virus created?
It was created by some back-alley 'doctors' and experimenters who were creating diseases just so that they could come up with cures for them. They did the experimenting on strays and any other animals they could get from the local pound, and purposefully gave them rabies and the like.
Can humans become infected by the virus?
In short, no. If a human is bitten by an Infected dog, they will experience seizures, hallucinations, and the like until they eventually die. The virus is a lot like rabies when it comes to infecting people.
Why do some dogs have collars if they are strays?
If your character has a collar, It has to have been recently owned by humans.
What does this.. Virus do exactly?..
Tongue, gum, and eye discoloration, brain deterioration, and a false sense of immortality (due to deterioration of the brain). That just means they aren't able to feel pain as severely, and it makes them believe they are getting stronger when they are actually dying. That's why when you tear one of their legs off in battle and they don't go down, they're just crazy, not invincible.
