Vanish decided finally to go hunting, he trotted to the camp entrance, exiting. He made his way up a tall hill and scanned his surroundings. A herd of elk was a little ways away, trying to find grass in the snow, but not having any luck. Maybe a calf will get a little too far from the adults... I can take a calf down alone.... Adult elk are too big for a single wolf to take on.... He thought to himself. The dark-colored brute watched the herd for any wandering calfs.


Hazel was beside the river, watching chunks of ice float by. She jabbed her paw at the thin ice forming on the edge of the water, breaking it and scanning the water for fish. I'd most likely find salmon.... The breeding season just ended so they're all still travelling back downstream. While she waited, she lapped at the icy water thirstily.


Zephyr was still waiting in the snow for Starlight. She had wandered off, and he was supposed to be taking her to camp to see Vanish and begin her trial to join the pack. Maybe she had changed her mind? Zephyr frowned. Well.... I suppose I'll wait here until she comes back.... Or until I have to go back to camp.

(Also for the fight, since nobody knows who should win XD Maybe Feather could break it up? Or Zephyr could come looking for Starlight and he breaks it up? I dunno.)

Starlight snarled, panting as well. She leapt onto Cadenza and sunk her claws into her shoulders. She dug her teeth into Cadenza's neck.

(( Alright, I'm not completely sure where everyone is right now, but I have a pretty good idea of what's happening. (Just not where's happening.) So, I'll leave it open as to who or what Kori and Rush have run into. Feel free to jump in! They are outside pack territory at the moment. ))

She trotted through the shade of the forest a few pawsteps behind her father, who lead the way. Her ears swiveled to the sides every now and then, but Rush was not actually as alert as she appeared. Instead of paying attention to what was going on around her, her mind was far from the present. She was thinking about the pack that lived nearby. Would they be trouble? Kori never liked to stay in one place for too long, so it was only a matter of time before they left again, but maybe this was different. What would it be like to live in a pack? Maybe it would be a bit overwhelming with all those extra wolves around, or maybe it would be fun. Who knows?
Rush stopped suddenly to avoid bumping into her father. It seemed as he had found something. She peered over his shoulder in an attempt to have a look. They had reached the edge of the little stretch of pines they were traveling in, so whatever it was had to be out in the open somewhere.

Speaking to Rush

As he padded along through the snow, Kori's senses were sharply attuned to anything of interest. He could hear the soft crunching noises his paws made in the fresh snow, plus those of his daughter who was right behind him. Kori could hear her steadily breathing. Of course, Rush was not what Kori was searching for, at least not today. His delicate nose was sniffing the air with the purpose of locating food while avoiding enemies.
For the moment, the pair were sheltered in the pines that stood together in the middle of this flattened landscape like a stubborn old village, but that shelter quickly ran out. After only moments, he found himself at the edge of the patch of trees, staring out into the open land. Rush stumbled slightly behind him as if she was not expecting him to stop, but Kori took no note of that. he was far more interested in the shape ahead of him. Had they been seen?
"Quiet.", he hissed as he turned his head to direct his voice in Rush's general direction.
It was probably best to let him handle this, at least for now.

Starlight growled. " Well, your as tough as you look." She panted. Using her back legs, she tried to trip Cadenza off.
