"No need to apologize. I never knew kindness until i joined the herd, although, there are still things that remind me of my past. I never knew kindness and still don't completely know it but, i make do with what i have. Atleast its better then where i was and what i had before." he shared with Akemi. He never liked thinking about his past, it brought mental and physical pain to him. He still bore the scars from his past, ones that still hurt and burned, like a never ending flame. Nobody truly knew of his past because he never told, he thought it would make him look weak.

I looked at him, raising one of my ears. "I'm sorry Shadow about your past, I'm glad your here then. This place sounds good, at least you can restart and later find someone to love." I said smiling the best I could, since I hadn't smiled for a wile. "I want you to have something happy to happen, because you seem burdened." I told him, giving him a little nuzzle on his shoulder. In my view of him, I thought of a stallion that was stuck with a burden of pain and he just didn't know what to do. He was a little different than me, but we could relate in some ways...but how he talked about the herd made me kinda want to be there.

He laid his ears back as he listened to Akemi speak, especially when she mentioned love. He as getting ready to reply when he felt her nuzzle him. He flinched but only slightly then blinked in surprise, and almost shock, as he pricked his ears and looked at her. He had never been nuzzled before and wasn't quite what to say or how to react to it. He looked forward again and shook his head, trying to forget it had even happened. "Uhh, i-it is a nice place here. Better than most other places, that's for sure. And don't worry about me, i doubt i'll find love but, at least here i won't be in as much pain as i used to be. And when i die, i'll be able to die a little more rested." he told her

I looked at him a little surprised he stuttered, or if he stuttered. 'nah he didn't stutter.' I thought, I just hope my gesture didn't make him feel upset. I giggled softly and a bit sadly when he said he wouldn't be loved, "I bet you will be. Just try and look past some but not all of those things, I do. It may not work all the time, but at least your not feeling weighed down and weak." I told him, "and this place sounds and looks better than my cave." I said looking around, "I wonder if- no never mind." I sighed.

Starfall smiled "now would be a good time to talk" she said looking up at him. Xavier sighed "I just don't want to lose you" he said steadily "after Ir-". "That was my own fault" said Starfall, interrupting him "stop worrying about me okay? I can take care of my self"

Jericho winced as her hoof clipped the log "Be..becare.. ful" he studdered watching her closely. He wouldn't know what to do if she got hurt; he would be too shaky himself to walk beside her, if she could stand that is. He shook his head trying to stop his pesky worrying.

He flattened his ears as Akemi suggested that he forget and look past everything in his life that happened. But what she didn't know was that he did, or atleast tried to, everyday of his life. Though there were some things that he would never forget. The pain he felt and the blood he had been covered in and tasted, those things would never go away. He pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind and sighed before replying. "You wonder if what?" he asked her as he turned his head to look around, then looked back to Akemi.

I blushed, "oh nothing." I said and was grateful that my black coat hid the blush, I turned my head and figured he wasn't gonna take no for an answer. "I wonder if I would be able to be in the herd, I know kinda stupid thinking." I sighed.

He turned his head to look at Akemi with a swish of his tail. "That's not a stupid idea." he told her then looked ahead of himself again, though continued speaking, "After the last battle we lost most of our herd. I'm sure Xavier would allow you to stay with us. We can go talk to him now about it, if you'd like." he told her

I nodded, "do you really think he'd accept me though?" I asked looking down,"I'm sure he'd wanna know about me before I join for saftey reasons, he wouldn't like me if I told him my past and why I'm not in a herd. I just don't know, but I would like to if I could." I sighed, swishing my tails and flattening my ears to the side. I looked up at the sun trying to shine its light through the trees, I blinked as I saw two lovely crows dancing in the sky together. Oh how I wanted to be like them, I wasn't sure about myself or others. Thats why others look down on me in disappointment.

He snorted and turned to look at Akemi. "Your past can't be any worse than mine. If he accepted me and allowed me to stay with the herd and trusts me enough to be a protector stallion, then he has no reason to turn you away. And besides, he doesn't know all about my past. All Xavier knows is that i was left alone and was looking for a new herd. He won't question you too much, especially if he thinks your uncomfortable about talking about it" he assured her then turned back the way they had come from to take her to Xavier. "Come on, no reason to stand here assuming things all day when we could just go find out the answer." he said as he began trotting back.
