He'd never been questioned about anything he had said before. "Of course I mean it. Nothing gets past these ears and eyes. You're safe, I never break my word. I swear on my life."

Cat sensed his double-take and knew that he was surprised at her question. But no one could blame her for second-guessing a promise like that. It was a big thing to tell someone, especially a stranger who'd heard lies just like it every day of her life beforehand. But she wanted to trust him, and so she tried. "Thank you, Hawk. Thank you." She closed her eyes and flicked her ears around, unsure of what to do now. So she sighed and rubbed gently against him as he had done to her.

Hawk smiled gently, as Cat rubbed against him he whispered his promise softly to her one last time, "I swear. You're safe." He let that hold meaning for a while his ears perked for anything as they always were, listening carefully.

Hawk smiled as he continued to listen enjoying the fact he didn't hear anything dangerous though he was growing nervous. The cats were known for coming out here in hunting groups and he'd rather not fight them but at the same time he didn't want to leave. He looked at Cat, "I suppose you'll eventually want to get back to your family."
