Athena scented the air again, in hopes of smelling some type of animal. Nothing. She stood up, restless, and flapped her wings and rose into the sky. She flapped faster and soared farther and farther away from camp. When she was tired of flight, she dove into an opening in the dense forest treetops. There she landed silently and looked around. Her eyes quickly adjusted to the change in light. She strained her ears, hoping to hear the sound of birdsong. She thought she heard something. She listened again. Was it? Yes! The faint chirping of a bird could be heard not far off. She tensed and began to creep quietly forward.

Ashur looked around camp, his eyes cold and bored.
