Mercury

The black and blue brute curved down into camp. His ribs were a little more defined than usual, but he had not suffered as others had. In a way, Mercury wished he had. Nisuama, a lithe scout, had had next to no fat reserves clinging to her, and so when the store had been taken she'd been hit hard. She could hunt rabbits well- especially with Alethria- but the odds had not been kind to her.
Alighting carefully on a branch, Mercury scrambled down the tree. There was no real reason why he couldn't just have landed on the ground, but he....felt like doing it. The brute almost ensnared a pigeon in his jaws by chance, but the tauntingly plump bird danced from his reach at the last possible moment. Mercury shook twigs from his fur, running his grey gaze over the camp in the search of one wolf- Artemis.

Alethria

The slender fae was sharing a rabbit with her best friend, Nisuama. Alethria was stocky and well muscled, and she wasn't doing as badly in the food shortage as the other fae was- so she was allowing Nisuama to consume three fourths of the kill. They'd pretty much drained the rabbit supply together, and had been forced to stop hunting them so as to leave a self sustainable population. Not a good situation to be in.

The brute stalked out of his den, his jaws parting into a yawn. He noticed Alethria, and Nisuama.

Artemis ~ | At the sound of flapping wings she lifted her head to see Mercury. Artemis was laying in the den curled around the pups to keep them warm from the blistering, cold day. The she-wolf gave him a frail smile, Artemis was thin as the rest of the pack. She refused to eat until everyone else in the pack had. She'd rather herself die than the whole pack. Artemis knew she should eat as her pups needed to be fed too, but she couldn't stand to see her pack suffer and with nothing she could do, it broke her heart.
