Riffle had gone off in thought, but when Caleb spoke to her, she shook herself. "Mmmm?" She said "Oh, yeah, I believe that no one got hurt too badly. C'mon, lets get going, hey?" She said as she started to walk to the border, something that was odd in its' self. Riffle walking when she could run? Unheard of.

[Manx]

Caleb raised his eyebrow, noticing Riffle's slow pace. It wasn't like her to walk; it was unusual for her to do anything but run, really. "Race ya," he said, pushing himself down to a playful, puppy like stance, hoping to get Riffle back to her regular self.

Riffle glanced over to Caleb, her gem glinting dully. "Oh?" She said, coming out of another thought, "Wait, what did you want?"

[Manx]

Caleb sat up, giving Riffle a quizzical look. This was not like her. "Something on your mind?" he asked, a hint of worry in his voice, padding up next to her.

[Kanaria]

"Uh, yeah, kinda." Riffle said "I was thinking about my father. I've never met him, but my mother wasn't exactly fox colored in ANY way. Those foxes are rather big for foxes. Maybe he was a fox. Maybe I'm just going paranoid." She sighed "Why did that fox know to go for the gem on Firnen's head? That's what really worry's me."

[Manx]

"Maybe one of your mother or father's parents had the fox colouring; it could have just been passed down... Besides, even if your father was a fox, would it truly make a difference? You'd still be Riffle, Delta Scout, to me, and to the rest of the pack... Fox father or not," Caleb said grinning. "As for the foxes going for our gems?" Caleb let out a sigh. "Perhaps they've just been around us too long... After all, our gems aren't exactly a secret," he said, tilting his head to allow the sun to catch the amber gem, sending light dancing on the ground in front of them.

Riffle's gem glowed when Caleb reassured her. "Thanks." Riffle said "But how often does one of us die from getting, you know." Riffle shook her head, tossing yellow light around. "Not really that often. And If my father really was a fox, Mom would have trusted him, and given him her gem's name, and explained what it was about. And if the foxes know, my father betrayed my mom. Did I ever tell you how she died?"

Caleb shook his head, and his eyes softened with sympathy. "No, you haven't," he said.

Sapphire yawned and wandered around camp, puzzling over Zuiver and the other wolves. It only seemed right that they know- but once they did, it might destroy the pack. She didn't want that. With a sigh, she closed her eyes, but kept padding on, until she ran into something. Startled, her dark blue eyes flickered open and she danced back a pace, ready to strike at anything that looked dangerous. When she saw that it was only Diablo, she relaxed a little bit and smiled. "Oh. Sorry, Diablo... I'm just too absorbed in my thoughts to pay attention to much." She murmured, her ears burning with embarrassment. I'm the pack leader! I should know better than to close my eyes and wander around... I'm just lucky I didn't walk over the edge of a cliff. Scolding herself in her head, she sat down, taking a deep breath.

Breeze's eyes clouded. "Yeah," She said, pouting slightly. "I don't know what he wants with me! I was bored, so I chased a squirrel, and when I accidentally squahed it, I gave it to him... then, I ran away, jumped into the water, and went to my nest- which is behind the waterfall. He followed me..." She grinned. "But my jewel did this weird thing, and he got dunked by the wind. Or, at least I think it was my jewel..." She frowned. "But, now he's sending me silent messages, and I'm scared he can watch my every move. I like keeping secrets- if I didn't, I wouldn't be me."
