Suddenly, Fiery found out that stinky socks started falling from the sky. “FRIEND, ITS RAINING STINKY SOCKS!” She cried to her second in command, laughing. Then, Fiery decided that they will go back meet the magical creatures of Flaria, and so they flew there.

"Well, this is strange." Erebus said, batting a few socks out of the air. However on the flight to Flaria something happened: some of the socks fell into a pattern that summoned a great horse! The horse was not a fan of birds at all and decided to destroy the bird island. However since Erebus and Fiery were pretty far at the time, they had no way of knowing what was happening.

Fiery burned down the horse with fire. She flew on until she landed on Flaria. The bird isle, known as the Isle of Waxwingia, has floated off and came back to the air. A few stinky socks fell on Fiery, and she put them on. “GRRRRR, WHEEEEEERRRRREEEEE AAAAARRRRREEEEE MMMMYYYYYY SSSSOOOOOCCCCKKKKSSS?” Growled a voice from behind. It was the Stinky Sock Eater, who floated in the sky and looked like a giant caterpillar made of metal. Fiery was so scared. “I guess we must FIGHT that Stinky Sock Eater!” She said.

"I guess...so." Erebus said, a little weirded out by pretty much all of this. "And how did the island even...get back up there?!" With an annoyed sigh and a thought of leaving this place and joining the sparrows, he flew at the caterpillar-thing and froze part of it before continuing on to Waxwingia. Fiery could take care of this stuff on her own. However the first thing he saw was part of the island being damaged, and with a confused look he went to check out what happened.

Fiery shot a beam of fire at the giant metallic caterpillar monster and burned one of its teeth with an evil glare. The monster growled at her. The fire spread around the monster, soon burning it completely. It turned into many pieces of burnt, rusty metal that soon fell into the sea after a few seconds.

Erebus continued checking out the island, having a strong feeling that whatever strange conflict was going on back there had probably already ended. Looking down at the mud he saw some strange footprints and decided to follow them.

Fiery followed too. She found a very weird creature. It had a body and tail of a dragon, wings of a phoenix, a head of a wolf and legs of an eagle. It stared at the birds with its glowing purple eyes. Flames burned on its wings, just like on Fiery’s feathers. The creature stepped closer to the birds. Fiery stepped slowly back.

"Is that what's been breaking things?" Erebus said mostly to himself. Turns out that this thing had defeated the island-destroying horse, and was also trying to defeat the birds. Erebus looked over at Fiery and flew to a tree behind her, knowing that she would deal with it.

The mysterious creature grabbed Fiery’s second in command into its claw and took him away. “Wait!” Fiery shouted, flying up and cutting off the creature’s tail. She pulled a few beautiful phoenix feathers out of the tailless creature’s wings, putting them into her cat-like head to look nicer. When she defeated the creature, she took the dark colored bird out of its claws. “Are you okay?” She chirped, sounding very worried.
