Splash groaned and pushed herself to her feet. Her stomach growled, and she growled back at it. Shut up! she thought, though she knew it would have no effect. I'm getting you food right now. Padding over to a puddle, she lapped up water to sate her thirst, then wandered off in search of prey.

Winder nuzzeled his mother back and began walking over to where his mother had flowers earlier. He rolled around in them for a few minutes and purred. Scarlett was grooming her own fur by the tree. Winder got up and shook his coat out he went to the shade and fell asleep.
