Soren narrowed his eyes a bit, if running a business has taught him anything it's that people care capable of doing anything. Not to mention he's been stolen from before, although that time his life was at stake, but he didn't think he had to worry about that now, at least he hoped not.

Maddie noticed the slight change in expression, and looked away. Her hand snatched the shiny thing quickly, swallowing nervously as she grabbed the last book. "Thank you for helping... I really should be going. " She dropped the book into her bag, the shiny expensive thing in her palm. As soon as he left she would figure out what it was. She stood, and without a sound, began to make her way to an alley not too far.

( Don't feel pressured. If there's anything you should know about me is that i'm a very patient and empathetic person, and sometimes annoying if someone refuses to take care of themselves. I really do hope you rest soon. "

Watching her leave he obviously didn't realize she had stolen from him. Letting out a heavy sigh the blond haired male crossed the street to the opposite side of the alley. He sat down on a bus stop bench and put his head in his hands, stress weighing him down and making him just want to disappear forever. Why did he agree to run the cafe? It was a stupid idea.

Maddie watched him, and turned away to look at what it was. She turned it this way and that, huffing. She looked at Soren again, and for the first time in 4 years, she felt guilt. She quietly contemplated her options and huffed. She went over to Soren and quietly put the shiny on the bench beside him, not sure what to do.

With another heavy sigh Soren reached into his pants pocket and pulled out his box of cigarettes and a lighter. Opening the box he hissed, he only had one left. Rubbing his eyes he put the remaining cigarette in his mouth and lit it, taking in a deep breath, holding it for a second and letting out a cloud of dark smoke. Hearing something beside him he saw his key to the cafe sitting there. Soren narrowed his eyes, how did that get there?

She watched quietly and realized she gave up on her breakfast money as well. She lost it when she spilled her bag. She went to the alley again and sniffled a bit. She had no way to get money till the end of the week when her buyers arrived. She began to cry silently, knowing she could have gotten something from that key. She knew she would have to steal more to make up for this weeks major loss. But she didn't know how. She watched Soren silently, watching him notice his key beside him.

( It's nothing honestly, I love making friends and helping others. )

Flicking his cigarette and watching the ashes fall he grabbed the key and sighed. A part of him wanted to throw it away but he knew his dad would disown him. Leaning back against the bench, cigarette hanging from his mouth, the blond looked up at the sky. It was getting late. Suddenly his stomach rumbled rather loudly, earning him a few looks from strangers. Soren frowned and placed a hand on his abdomen, he'd been so busy that day he hadn't had the time to eat.

Maddie didn't know what to do and approached him quietly. "A-Are you okay?" She murmured nervously. She usually didn't speak to people at all, only stealing. As she heard his stomach rumble hers rumbled as well, but less of noise and more pain. She clutched her stomach and grunted a bit, embarrased. " S-Sorry, I haven't eaten in a while.... "

Soren stayed silent and let out a heavy sigh. Reaching the end of his cigarette he put it out on the bench and tossed it in a near by trash can. The tall blond stood up and glanced at her a moment, "follow me" he said, slipping the key into his pocket and starting to walk down the sidewalk.
