indent michael had already been up for two hours now, pacing around the headquarters with a small cup of coffee in his hand for most of that time. occasionally, he sat down in the cafeteria with his newest book, the outsiders, but he hadn't been able to sit down long enough to get very far into it. it was old and well worn, nearly to the point of falling apart, but the young officer had worked hard to make sure it lasted. when one of the collectors had found it, michael nearly jumped out of his seat. the book was over a hundred years old and very expensive in most stores, so hexe was very excited to learn that they had a copy had made its way into the headquarters.
indent now, as he returned the book safely to its shelf, the young man took one more moment to marvel at its velvety cover. as soon as he was finished returning the outsiders to its proper place, the soldier made his way to the mess hall to finish off his coffee. it was still rather quiet, but michael knew that it wouldn't last long. his fellow rebels would be awakening any moment now, and he'd have to give out assignments to his staff. without giving it another thought, michael tipped back his head and drank the last sip of his coffee.

indent bleary-eyed and only half awake, hannah pulled her arm out from under her bedcovers and reached for her alarm clock as it rang incessantly. finally, after a few minutes, her hand found the off button and she pressed it down lightly. she hadn't slept well that night, terrors plaguing her every dream, but it was something that she was willing to deal with in order for her family to stay afloat. after a while of laying in her bed, staring at the ceiling, hannah finally peeled herself from the mattress and made her way to the closet, staring at it for a moment before finally grabbing a dark gray t-shirt and black jeans, completing the look with her favorite boots. moving quietly, the young woman grabbed a small comb before she left her room, quickly brushing out her long, black hair as she made her way down two flights of stairs and into the cafeteria. quietly, she made her way through the breakfast line, grabbing two slices of toast and an apple, before finding an empty table at the back of the room. from there, the enforcer ate her food and watched as more people began to enter the room. I wonder if i've got any vacation days... should go visit dad...
