He shook his head. "Humans just get the wrong information. Their horror books and movies are so dumb. Zombie apocalypse, werewolf outbreaks, vampire massacres, it's all wrong. The religious one's really don't like demons, and old sailor's tales say sirens are evil mermaids seeking revenge. Though I'll say they aren't wrong about all sirens." Shiya jumped up angrily. "I didn't mean you specifically, Shiya, I more meant your dad." Shiya looked at Sao curiously. "He's your father, too." "Don't remind me." He turned back to Tessa. "Anyways, I think humans just get fed the wrong information. They definitely aren't right about 99% of this stuff."

She sighed, closing her eyes again and running her hands through his hair. "Were you upset about something or just bored?" She asked quietly.

He fingered the seam of his sling, flicking his ears. "Well, it's pretty nice, really. Not the worst I've been to, though I may not be the best person to ask. This is my first day too, and this is my third time coming back already." He paused his music and took out his other earbud. He looked at Jace and smiled a bit, his green eyes sparkling slightly.

Tessa nodded. “That is true. What I learned from humans is that they love to exaggerate things.” She looked at Shiya. “I’m sure Kelpies have a worse reputation then sirens. One of my friends,who’s a kelpie wraith mix said that Kelpies had a big habitat of drowning whatever they don’t like. I guess humans just view each monster differently. That reminds me, I should ask Pitch what humans think of monsters that are mixed with other monsters. I know he’s studying the relationship between humans and monsters of history.”

River kept his ears down. “I don’t sometimes it’s because I’m bored and sometimes it’s Because I’m upset, and sometimes it’s both.”

She laughed a bit as Jace ruffled his feathers and turned his back to Basil. Annoyed at the fact he was still here. Max shook her head and looked at Basil's sling, now curious. "So what did you do?" She gestures at the sling, her worries now set aside due to her curiousity. She glanced back up at Basil. "They dont foght here do they?" A small ammount of worry sparks up in Max again, but is easily calmed due to her knowledge on fighting. She might not be really strong, but she knew she could hold her own.

"I had to jump out a window." He said, looking at the sling. Then he looked back up at her and smiled. "Fighting, from what I've seen, isn't that much of an issue here specifically. Mostly werewolves involved. But, uh, not me. Well, one, but that wasn't my fault. Anyways, why'd you come to this school?" He put his free hand on the ground.

She raises an eyebrow slightly by the response of him jumping out of a window, but quickly shakes it off. She nods as he speaks, having read about werewolves but never actually meeting one. As he asks why shes here she cautiously bites her lip before answering. "My parents sent me here because it got too dangerous in my home town." Max's eyes lower to the rock she had earlier kicked as she gently pets Jace's head, whom still had his back turned to Basil. "To be honest ive only been around humans my whole life, so i dont exactly know what to expect here." Her eyes stay glued to the rock as her fingers trail through Jace's feathers causing him to ruffle them happily.

He turned around and froze, staring at the tiger dragon. Shiya rolled his eyes and stood up, closing the curtains. "What is that thing anyways?" Shiya asked before walking up to Sao and snapping in his face. Sao blinked and slapped Shiya's hand away from his face.

"Don't worry, River." She whispered soothingly, stroking his head.

"Well, let's see... Vampires and demons are pretty antisocial, mermaids and sirens can be really self-centered and sassy, angels can just... Be angelic, and, for the most part, and werewolves can get pretty agressive and rowdy. Probably the nicest species I've found in my own experiences are nymphs, dryads, and fairies." He picked up a pebble with his free hand and threw it some yards away. "Uh, anyways, if you don't mind me asking, what are you?" He tilted his head.

Max now knew to stay clear of werewolves, which she already was caitious about due to her fear of dogs. She looked at him and smiled at all the knew information she was getting. She read a ton of books on these creatures, but of course those were written by humans. So most of it was bound to be false. She frowned a bit when he asked her what she was, she could never find any lore about herself. Even so, she never really liked to talk about it. Since ot was these powers that got her sent away from home in the first place. "Im not exactly sure theres a word for what I am." She glances at Jace before looking back at Basil, thinking to herself. 'I guess its okay to tell people in this school what I am, it is normal here after all.' The thought gave her a little reasurance as she spoke again. "Im a cat, well, kind of." Still slightly nervous around the new company she decided to leave ot at that. "If I could ask the same, what are you?" She smiled curiously, now completely entranced with the conversation and all past worries fading.

He gestured to his ginger ears and tail. "I thought it'd be obvious. I'm a werewolf." His tail began thumping against the ground. He picked up a new pebble and threw it, though it didn't get as far the other.

Max's eyes widened a bit before she blinked and watched the pebble Basil threw. Although she had seen the ears and tail, she had never seen a werewolf before, so she didnt know what to expect. She gulped a bit before looking back at Basil "Your not going to eat me are you?" Of course, Max didnt know how ridiculos this question was, as the only lore she had read on werewolves made them out to be scary. And of course, the fact she was a feline didnt help her fear. Jace could tell Max was getting a bit tense. The bird flipped around, his beady black eyes again staring at Basil.
