“I hope it came from the safe house. Where else would a bonded be in this forest?” Jamie said to Tykio, gently brushing his hand against the dragon’s snout. “But you haven’t answered my earlier question. How do we know when it’s dawn?”

Schultz hopped around the dragon, his own wings billowing every few jumps before turning to Beo. “We know nothing of this dragon, not where it came from nor who it’s bonded is. We are not keeping it, it’s not something to be kept, silly cub.” (Jamie, do you hear this?) Jamie grinned, ruefully reminding Schultz that he was unable to hear other bonded talking like the Nachtkrapp could.

Wordlessly, Alyssa kept walking, stepping over occasional branches that lay on the ground. Her footfalls were soft, and har gaze was also directed at the floor to watch for more branches. Ragnar could make out that where they were all going seemed to lead to a small clearing in the forest. He had no idea if the entrance to the safehouse was marked by a clearing, but perhaps it would be easier to see if the safehouse entrance was there as they got closer. "Nova, do you see that clearing up ahead?" he asked, turning his head towards the leopardess.

Odahviing sniffed Jamie’s outstretched hand and in a cat like manner in rubbed his face against the boy’s hand, making a noise that almost resembled a purr. While the dragon wasn’t able to understand the words the boys were speaking he could tell from their tone and focus of him that they were debating his fate. He knew his presence was suspicious but if they thought he’d like them hurt him then they were dead wrong. The small dragon shifted his weight uncomfortably and glanced desperately at first the nachtkrapp and then the wolf pup. Please tell them who I am. Tell them I intend them no harm, Odahviing begged the two, praying his words would carry some weight.

Lurene watched in silence as a sugar glider perched itself on Ria’s shoulder. From the way she was quietly speaking to the animal, it was easy for him to assume that the small creature was her bonded. So he waited, albeit with some impatience. It made him nervous and worried about what was being said. What didn’t help was the sugar glider scampering down Ria’s arm to seemingly get a closer look. God those large, beady eyes are disturbing.

The blond looked up from the sugar glider to Ria when she finally spoke loud enough that he could hear her. She seemed to wait until they were looking straight at one another to really continue.

What she said baffled Lurene. Can we still be friends? “I– of course, why wouldn’t we still be friends?”

Sage followed Everest and Jason into a small room off the main hallway of the safe house. She watches Everest help Jason to sit in a chair and begins to ask him questions regarding his ankle, and then apply pressure to it. He was trying to hide it, but Sage could tell Jason was in pain. "How can you tell if it's broken or fractured?" She asks, genuinely curious. This is interesting stuff, and she wanted to learn anything she could to help her survive against the Hunters.

Melisandre eventually, through all her mindless wandering, entered the common room to find Ben and Jaka curled up, reading a book. She allowed herself a small smile as she took in the heart warming scene. She remembered when the man had come to her as nothing more than a scared, helpless boy, running for his life. Seeing him now reassured her that this safe house was something good, that she was doing something good. After a moment the girl made her way across the room, nearly silently, over to her old friend. “Quiet day?” She asked, her voice smooth and warm like honey.

Ben looked up as Melisandre addressed him, blinking, then smiling as he saw who it was.
"Very, can't think it'll last too long though," He put down his book on the table next to him and stretched. In synchronisation, Jaka stretched too. "Thought I saw you head out earlier, any noise from the outside world?" He picked the book up again, but still kept his gaze on the woman. Ben himself got most of his news through her and any new arrivals - sure he ventured out nearly every day for some fresh air, but it was never very far from the safe house.
Jaka yawned and briefly opened his eyes to see what was going on, but seeing it was nothing much he reshuffled his position, resting his head on his human's feet.

Pudding puffed up when Lurene spoke, he knew he bad a promise and all but how stupid could this boy be? Whipping his head around he let a hiss escape him. "Maybe because you left her? Illyria tensed slightly. "if you aren't going to be friendly go back to your hood, Pudding." The sugar glider lashed its tail, turned and vanished into her hood again.
Ria sighed softly, lowering her gaze. "I just thought.. You wouldn't want to be my.. Friend I guess." Pudding scoffed. Nipping the bad of her neck causing Ria to yelp and turn to glare at him. "Pudding!"

Nyx let his thoughts stray back to home as they walked, he began to wonder if he'd ever get to see his family again. 'tap tap tap' he began to tap on his strap once more. How many times had he done that now?

Nova glanced back at the humans when they fell silent, more specifically Nyx when he began tapping on his strap. Knowing that was a nervous habit of his she was going to go to him when Ragnar spoke, turning her attention back to the bear.
She turned her attention to where his gaze had been after he spoke, tilting her head slightly. There was a clearing up ahead. She nodded. "Yeah, I do. Think that might be the entrance?" she glanced back at Ragnar.

“There have been several new arrivals,” Melisandre informed him, trying to think back to their names but they seemed to slip her mind. Too much to remember over so many years she supposed. “There are more on their way too, I’m sure of it,” she added after a brief moment of thought. She’d heard shots fired earlier, though distant she knew they were not simply random shots into the trees. “I sent Odahviing out to search for them but he has yet to return,” the girl said slowly, her fear spilling into her voice and she thought of the possible situations her dragon may have encountered. She knew the hunters were growing closer and closer to the safe house each day. Years ago they wouldn’t even enter the forest in pursuit of bonders but now Melisandre feared they may come far enough into the trees to discover the safe house. The entrance was concealed, sure but the sanctuary was by no means impenetrable. Shaking the troubling thoughts from her head, Melisandre returned her mind to the conversation.

"Well," she said looking up at Sage, "if it was broken, he wouldn't be able to move it because of severage." She looked back down at his ankle. "Im leaning more towards the idea that he fractured it, simply because if you'd only sprained it, you should've been able to exert more pressure on it than you did in the hallway." She nodded to herself and then looked up at Jason. "Try not to put to much pressure on it. You don't want to hurt it more than it already is."

He looked at the woman and then back at the entrance before spotting the hole in the ground. "I'll be careful," he said before disappearing into the safehouse. It wasn't like what he imagined but it was better than nothing. If it kept the hunters away from him, his sister, and their bonds, he liked it. Now to get cozy and meet the people I'll be living with... he thought and began to walk around the place. How was he supposed to know his new home if he didn't explore it?
