"It's, uh, nice to meet you." Klink said, taking a few steps in as Marie moved out of the way. "Thank you," she ended with a weak smile. She put up her guard now. She didn't know these people, or what their thoughts about her were. If she needed she would take down all of them. She had a makeshift flash bomb ready in her pouch in case she had to make a quick get away.

As Marie closed the doors, Nevada yelled into the back of the shelter, "Pierre, we apparently have a visitor." A taller man walks out of the back room, probably Pierre.

"Marie, who's this?" Pierre asked.

Marie turned to Pierre, "This is Klink. I believe she can track the snow beasts-"

"So can I!" Nevada interrupted, "I've tracked tons of them!"

"We've never found the main hive. Maybe she could," as Marie continued talking, so did everyone else. Eventually the room delves into chaos.

Klink only heard about the first part of the conversation before it devolved into a giant argument. The only thing she heard was the part about tracking the snow beasts to their main hive. "Uhh, guys," she tried to get her word in, "guys," still not being heard, and now getting a bit angry, "Oh, my god, GUYS!" she yelled finally, "I already know where the hive is!" she blurted without thinking. Dang it she said on her head.

The room immediately falls silent. "You know where the hive is?" Nevada puts Conor down on the ground and he scampered to a pile of blankets in the corner next to a vent.

"Uh," she sighs, "yes, yes I do. But why do you want to go? That place is a death trap" she said. It was true, she knew where the hive was, but she didn't really want to tell them. It was a horrible place, one where she barely made it out alive.

Kyle trudged across the sleet covered roads towards a busted old town in the distance. It had long since been picked dry but he knew better than to judge from outward appearances. Just about anything could be put to use if you were creative enough. He slowed his breathing and stepped lightly as he approached the town, making as little noise as possible.
Kyle squeezed his way past a door bashed half off its hinges and into what looked to be a post office. He crept around, gathering up bits and pieces that could be used as kindling and picking apart any packages that might've been over looked. So far he had a wad of papers, a few pens, an old postmans jacket and a couple of bags of granola and nuts, everything else was beyond putrid or crushed beyond use.

Just as he was getting ready to leave there was a loud crunching out in the snow, his whole body shuddered at the sound and he readied himself with a length rebar with a chunk of concrete on the end. The snow beast came closer until it heard talking in the distance and began treading away.
Kyle peered out of the ajar door and made a break for a nearby super market. Turns out it had the same idea and gave chase; it's weight shuddering the ground with every step and sending vibrations up Kyle's spine as he frantically slammed the door behind him and began shoving shelves and debre in front of the door, the metal making a god awful screech. It scratched at the door, paced around then began throwing its weight against the building shaking bits of the ceiling loose and shattering any glass that remained.

"We need to go to the source to get rid of them!" Nevada shouted.

"Nevada," Pierre put his hand on his sister's shoulder, "She could be lying."

Nevada pushed his hand off of her shoulder, "And if she's not?"

"I don't care if you think I'm trying or not. I'm not going to take you anyways." Klink said thinking of the last time she was there. A bit of horrified look started to creep onto her face, but she stopped it. "It is way too dangerous to go. I'm not gonna let you guys go to your deaths." she ended with more of a determined look on her face.

"If she doesn't want to take us now, she doesn't have to," Marie pushed the two siblings away from each other, "She can just stay here if she's like."

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm don't want to intrude." She said a bit puzzled why she gave up so easily.
